Reviews & Questions
These work great. Easy to install, sturdy, and works well with the Wolfman Expedition Saddlebags.
BTW, Wolfman says if you use the GIVI racks you need to remove some tabs. Thats not clear or defined anywhere on their site. I called and they told me, tab removal is not necessary. Well the tabs they speak of are two bolt-type units that the cases sit on at the bottom of each rack.
You don't need to remove them as I tested it out. BUT If you do off-road and are bouncing around a lot, I can see the potential for them wearing a hole in the bags eventually. They are bolted on and easily removed, which I suggest...

The racks look great, very plain, but very sturdy. The frame that holds the case is also large enough that I can use them with soft luggage, which was a selling point for me. Other brands had smaller racks, which I was afraid may not work as well.
Overall, the racks look great, and do what they're supposed to do. HOWEVER, I feel I need to inform people about the installation process.
I'm not a mechanic, but I can typically tackle most basic installation and maintenance on my bike. Wheel changes, chain installation, most accessories. The installation on these was supposed to take 30 minutes and be easy. It wasn't.
The instructions were very poorly written, using only pictures which don't describe the steps involved. Also, the list of the 5 tools needed (10-13mm box wrenches, and a 5mm hex) is grossly insufficient. You'll need 2 of every wrench size, pliers, and something to remove the c-clips from the rear pillion pegs. At least.
They also leave out critical steps, like removing the plastic plugs from under the subframe which Triumph has installed to keep mud and debris out of the holes. It was only after the install, that I discovered these plugs simply unscrew, and don't pull out. Again, they're not even mentioned in the instructions.
Overall, the racks will work great, but the instructions leave a lot to be desired. At least for me.
Super-easy to install, even for a mechanically inept person like me. I read the other reviewer's comment about the plastic plugs on the non-exhaust side of the bike; my solution was to use a small pair of scissors with sharp tips. I opened them slightly and gently tapped the points into the surface of the plastic with a rubber mallet. Then it was a simple case of using the scissors to unscrew the plastic pieces out of the bike frame.
I've given almost everything a perfect score based on the installation and physical qualities of the rack; so far, everything looks and feels great, and I can't see why they won't do what they're supposed to. If anything changes, I'll update my review.
Install is very easy. Hardest part for Tiger owners is this: on the left side, the bracket bolts to the bottom of the frame tube with 2 bolts. Those two bolt holes have plastic plugs in them - be careful taking these out. I tried prying them out with a knife and ended up cutting the top off them, and they are really difficult get out after that. I had to use a drill even though the plugs are just plastic. Be careful with this.
There's less offset in the left rack due to no exhaust on that side, but I think it looks fine. See the attached pics. I plan on getting 37L cases for both sides eventually.
