Good product, but not for all diy-ers.
I am a mechanic by trade, and this rack was NOT easy to install. HINT: Throw away the templates. Put masking tape on the top box where each leg will land, and (while holding the rack in place) trace around each leg. You may have to bend a leg(s) to make them mate flush with the top case. Now drill the hole while mimicking the angle of the leg. Assemble with a sealant to keep water out. No need to remove the trim piece - just follow the above instructions with everything still assembled on the top case.

Exactly as advertised, very satisfied
"IF" you follow the installation instructions to the letter, you will be a happy camper. Wing it and you may well end up with some extra ventilation in your top box.

My recommendation is to drill your pilot holes very small and use four tiny screws to make sure the alignment is right. If it is, the rack will sit right on your screw points, then you can drill with the proper bit for the installation screws.

A good product.

If you need it, you already know it!
I installed an E159 rack on top of a V56 maxia 4 which sits on a Piaggio Mp3 (2014 on wards model).

The v56 (NNT model) with the back rest look superb on an mp3, complimenting the looks of the trike. The addition of the E159 will not make the whole case look "ugly" but ... personally I wasn't aesthetically satisfied... The rack is not as elegant as the rest of the top case, but as said in my title, if you need it, you already know it....

Installing is a good challenge if you are in for it. Instructions are ok but what they actually describe is not easy and can be dangerous for your case. The included cut outs, in particular, are easily misaligned... Moreover the instructions tell you to drill with a 3,5mm drill bit the outer, cosmetic part of the case. I found this to be wrong and I used a 7mm drill, same as for the main cover, after all the same 7mm screw will have to pass through both holes. I also found that the best way is to remove the cosmetic cover to protect it, drill gradually using various diameter bits four 7mm holes on the main cover, then reattach the cosmetic cover and gradually once again drill four more 7mm holes through the holes you just opened.

The rack is sturdy, the screws are fastened using an alen key and you can easily attach a 30Lit soft bag (like wp402) to increase the total luggage volume to 86LIt not including the area beneath your saddle.

I suppose even your wife won't find this capacity insufficient!

Super rack.
This is a basic, simple durable addition to a top box. The rack is very handy and it makes tie-downs easier too.

Installation is simple IF YOU DON'T USE THE INSTRUCTIONS!
There's a stupid paper cut out template you're supposed to use to insure you drill holes correctly. There's also directions that want you to remove some of the decorative moldings from the top box. That's a waste of time and there's no added value to doing it. The only useful part of these instructions is knowing the order of where to place the posts. Once you get that figured out, just open the package and immediately throw away the instructions. They are useless!!

If you have any mechanical sense, this install should take about 10-12 minutes. Use the instructions and you're in for 40-60 minutes. Simply place the rack on top of the box in the desired location, draw circles around the posts, drill pilot holes of the correct size, then screw into the rack.

Good luck. I love the rack.

Measure twice drill once -V47
Like many people have done ,the easy way is to put masking tape under the mounts for marking ...because of the angles of the mounts if you dont have the spacers in when you mark the mount points your holes will be too far apart. Mark & drill the rear first & drill your holes about a millimetre each closer together.Check your position & adjust if necessary ( a small round file is handy) Then mount the rear with the short spacers and position the longer front spacers , trace around & the front will be spot on. The instructions work but can be confusing !
