Givi AF214 Airflow Windscreen Honda Silverwing 600
This stylish, well-constructed replacement windscreen features improved height and shape with top-notch quality. Mounts in minutes using stock fasteners. Features clear tint and precision-cut shape.
AIRFLOW is the most versatile Givi windshield to date. Maximum height 57 cm (12 cm of extension) width 59cm.
The adjustable spoiler allows the rider on the fly to easily and quickly make adjustments. Made of transparent polycarbonate, the adjustable spoiler is infinitely adjustable along the 4.7" (12cm) of travel. Once the desired setting has been selected a simple and secure clamp will keep it in place.
The design of the AIRFLOW system creates an aerodynamic effect that eliminates turbulence, allowing for maximum protection from wind thus reducing rider fatigue.
Another important feature is the ability to reduce AIRFLOW to the rider to increase driving safety while raining: the "spoiler effect" reduces and, can at times, eliminate rain from collecting on the visor and reducing vision. During the warmer days the AIRFLOW spoiler, can easily be removed allowing travel with only the lower part of the windshield as well.
- Polycarbonate construction
- 12cm (4.75") of adjustment
- Dimensions: 57cm H x 59cm W (22.4" H x 23.2" W)

Reviews & Questions
I purchased the Givi 214DT as a replacement because it looks nice and it's affordable. After installing it, I also discovered it was too tall. I don't like having to look through a windshield. It also created a fair amount of back-pressure that I really didn't care for. Following instructions on the Internet, I was able to cut it down. I also own a naked bike and enjoy getting some airflow, so I mistakenly cut off too much and the result was that all the wind turbulence was aimed straight at my helmet.
I read such glowing reviews of this one that I decided to purchase it. I just finished installing and took the Swing out for a short test ride after installation. These are my impressions.
Installation was easy enough. It comes with special brackets that you have to drill holes through a hidden part of the fairing and hidden behind a recess in the tupperware is a receiving nut. I made two passes, first with a smaller bit and hit the hole the first try and then with a larger bit to accommodate the included bolts, but not so large as to damage the inside of the nut. It wasn't really difficult, I just wasn't expecting this extra step.
I believe the extra support is necessary to provide a stable mount. The windshield did however still vibrate much more noticeably than the previous two that were installed. I'm sure I will get used to it, but it's different than what I'm used to. I tried the screen in different positions, from the lowest to the highest. Even at the lowest, where I can feel air hitting the top of my helmet, it doesn't seem to be the kind of turbulent air that makes lots of noise and gets on your nerves. The higher you raise the top section, the more it creates a "dead zone" directly in front of you and does give the feeling of a slight push forward. It's not horrible, but it's not absent either.
The workmanship is beautiful and substantial. I am a fan of givi products. I really like that I can adjust the height of the windshield. I like how it looks. I'm sure with more riding that I will get used to the little things that I wasn't expecting.
1. It shakes more than I expected
2. It creates a bit of back pressure, but not a lot.
So far, this is the best I've tried for the Silverwing, but I wanted to leave an honest evaluation of a couple things that I noticed and didn't see posted elsewhere.
