Giant Loop Fandango Tank Bag Pro

The Giant Loop Fandango Tank Bag Pro represents a major upgrade of Giant Loop’s largest, most popular tank bag (8 liters). Expandability, electronics compatibility, and features driven by rider feedback inspire this Adventure Proof state-of-the-art design.

An electronics pass-through enables on-bike charging and power inside the tank bag and/or the clear vinyl map pocket top. The Fandango PRO’s underside includes a concealed document pocket, and two separate side zippers for easy mounting to harness. Full length interior lining with hook-and-loop accepting fabric, movable divider with elastic tire pressure gauge holder and slots, exterior mesh pocket and D-ring mounts for new optional Buckin’ Roll pannier pockets (2 liters each side) are key new features.

Fuel fills are now easily accessed by simply unzipping either side from the harness, and the concave front allows vent hoses to breathe.

Fits virtually any motorcycle, including dirt, dual sport, adventure and sport machines with metallic or non-metallic tanks/shrouds.

  • Concealed document pocket

The mounting, weather resistant material and quality materials are all standouts on the Fandango Pro Tank Bag
I have had tank bags before, usually larger ones ( 12 - 15+L)
This time around I wanted something that was easily accessible, simple in design, did not require a rain cover and made of high quality components. I didn't mind that it was smaller, because the layout and ease of access were the important points of my choice.
My search narrowed to just 2 tank bags, the Wolfman Blackhawk and the Giant Loop Fandango Pro. Thought about it for 2 months reading every review possible. One thing stood out, the Fandango mounting system; it allows you to easily pull one zipper and flip the bag to the side to fill the tank !
The other thing that sealed it, was the bag does not require a rain cover. I commute everyday, here in the Northeast the weather is not always predictable…
I have a 2008 Buell Ulysses, the bag mount installed in 15 minutes, the bag installed on the mount in 15 seconds, no issues… Actually the instructions aren't that bad, I did use their suggestion of securing the tag ends of the straps when done. The mount is rock solid, the bag has a little play side to side through the mounting zippers, which is nice when installing so you can engage the zipper with little effort.
The design, material and workmanship are first rate, this bag was made for an experienced rider that knows what he or she doesn't want. I cannot comment on long term use, but the quality is much better than the European factory bags that I'm used to. Located in an area that is void of high quality MC gear, on-line purchasing was my only option. Revzilla is now my first choice… thanks guys !

Well built tank bag
Works great on my Husky 511 which has a flat seat, but it is really hard to mount on my Honda XR650R. The velcro partitioning system is awesome, and keeps my camera from moving around. It is really easy to zip on and off the bike, so you can carry the bag around with you (it has a handle on it as well).

Looks good, works well, easy to use
I bought this for my 14 Tiger 800XC. It fits great once you get it in the right position and the straps allow for easy placement. The bag zips on and off the harness really easily with the oversized zippers and I have been in a couple of heavy rain storms and although I never doubted it, it held up 100% dry inside. I love the look and will probably get the GL dry bags to match in grey for my Green tiger.

I don't use the clear compartment for my iPhone GPS, I stick to the RAM mounts for that, the iPhone gets hot and is hard to read looking straight up. But for maps, directions and other quick reading reminders the clear plastic is perfect.

The handle works great for carrying and it is so easy to get on and off you will take it off whenever you leave the bike if you are carrying some valuables in it (phones, wallet, house keys).

I would buy this again for sure, I think I made the right choice between size, looks and durability.

Great Tank Bag packed with features
Fitted this tankbag, easily, to an R1200GS. Took no time at all.

the bag itself is large enough to be useful, but not so large as to be a hinderance.

Easy pass thru for power cables, secret compartment, storage pockets, map pockets, water resistant, with an included dry bag for extra protection.

As expected
I have had no issues with the bag. Giant Loop does a good job of ensuring plenty of length in straps for a multitude of different tie down options. The zippers stay in place and are extremely heavy duty. I have only driven in a light rain so I can't speak on it's ability to keep things dry during a heavy down pour or extended time.

You get what you pay for!
I purchased this Giant Loop Tank Bag Pro with the Giant Loop Giant Basin Saddlebag for a 8 day desert trip at Big Ben State Park. I was considering regular tank bag and the Coyote saddlebag, but definitely glad I opted for the larger Great Basin—perfect for trip in the wilderness for more than 3 days. The quality is great, design is great and they're made to last. There's cheaper options, but remember you get what you pay for. If you're hard on gear like I am, I believe spending a top dollar for bags that not only last longer, but also work on multiple bikes appealed to me.

Very sturdy construction and easy install. For my KTM 500 this is the right sized bag and will hold all of my little odds and ends perfectly. It is pricey for its size but I believe it will last for years and years.

Great Loop products are consistently high quality, this bag is!
The Fandango is a perfect size for my GSA. The bag fits the tank well, easy install, and the separations in the bag are nice. One of the best features is the ability to zip off the bag from the mount, and secure when your in an area of town you don't want to leave the valuables free game. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Nice sized tank bag for the BMW R1200GS
Was looking for something more versatile to Install on my 2010 R1200GS than the BMW offerings. The tank bag is proportioned well to fit atop the adventure styled bike, large enough to be useful, but not so large as to interfere with the handlebar movement or bar mounted controls. The design allows a range of front to back positions on the tank with adequate length in the straps and a neat stowing system on the tank platform. This has worked out well as I have been able to quickly move it to similar bikes when traveling and using other models. The bag is well constructed and the tunnel for a power / charging cable has been utilized with a handle bar mounted USB receptacle. I will say, snaking the cable through the labyrinth at the front of the bag is a bit of a challenge, the rubber grommets making ti something you want to do once and leave in place. The internal diver works well to keep things organized and convenient. Have used it in light rain without an external or internal cover and pleased with the performance on the unaired bike. The reattachment of the zipper after fueling requires some fines, but believe that is a function al issue with zippers, rather than the design or manufacture of the bag itself. Very good value for the money compared to the factory options.

Neat Product
Use on my 2012 KTM 990 ADV R. Bought as a replacement for original Fandango bag as I lost harness for original. New version doesn't seem as well made. Great features though. Reflective material everywhere is a nice touch. Still new to motor bikes, just seems like all luggage takes for ever to access. GL seems to make it as convenient and fast as possible though. I think I got more value for my money when I bought the original a few years ago, not so with this one, quality is good, just not comparable to original model.

Great tank bag for the adv bike (BMW R1200GS) compared to BMW bags. When traveling and using other motorcycles, the strap configuration has enabled me to install the tank bag on other makes and models. Although the manufacturer does not claim waterproof integrity, in rain the bag contents have remained dry. Does not activate the horn in the full lock turns. Threading an iphone cable through the cable channel (from the front of the bag, up the into the visible map tray) is a bit challenging.

Really liked the quality of the giant loop great basin bags I bought for a recent trip so when my current tank bag burst, I thought I'd give giant loop a try again and the reviews online seem mostly to be positive. I also like that they're made in the U.S.

Has anyone attached this bag (GL Fandango) to a 2014 or '15, BMW R1200GS Adventure? Does it work well and do you still have access to your "garage door opener compartment"? Thanks guys!
Mike B on Jul 1, 2015
Is it waterproof? I'm not talking about dropping it in the lake -- rather, riding for days in pouring rain with electronics inside.
A shopper on Nov 2, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Rode roughly 1500 miles through Nevada and California , it rained some pretty much every day and on the last day 300 mile ride in complete winter storm like conditions extremely heavy rain all day !!! Everything stored in bag stayed completely dry including electronics even while havering charging cord run through the cord port at front of bag ! I am extremely pleased with this bag and absolutely recommend it .

Jim
If you own this bag, did you put down any tank protection as recommended on the GL website?
Richard A on Dec 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I didn't use tank protection. The bag sits tight enough as is and doesn't move. Not specifically looking for scratches either, it is on a crf250l with larger acerbis tank. So a few scratches wouldn't bother me, but nothing obvious has yet appeared.

Kind regards
Daniel

Will this fit a BMW K1600 GTL without interfering with the bars in full lock position?
steve b on Jul 5, 2017
If you have the older Diablo/Fandango, can this one be mounted to it's base? I have 2 bikes and looking to see if I can switch between bikes easily without having to buy an extra base.
