The FTECU Auto-Blip Downshift Retrofit Kit is designed to enhance the performance of the factory quickshifter and auto-blipper system found on the 2018-2019 Yamaha YZF-R1 and R1M. Replacing the OEM shift sensor with FTECU's high-performance push/pull sensor delivers faster activation, shorter shift throw requirements, and more precise gear changes for improved riding confidence on both the street and track.
Unlike the stock sensor, which requires a significant amount of shift shaft movement before triggering the quickshift and auto-blip functions, the FTECU sensor activates with substantially less travel. The result is quicker, crisper, and more positive upshifts and downshifts with reduced lag and improved shift feel throughout the RPM range.
This retrofit kit is designed as a direct plug-and-play upgrade that works with the motorcycle's factory ECU and electronics. No ECU flash or flash harness is required, as the included adapter harness connects directly to the stock wiring system for straightforward installation.
