Excellent fit
Love it.
Bought an XL standard length jacket in High Vis.
6' tall 265 lbs - Chest 48", waist 49" and arms about 36.
Calling into the Gear Freaks at Revzilla (Chris?), their recommendation was the XL size, focusing fit on the chest and arm measurements.
A perfect fit, even hunching over (which tents to stain my other jackets) still fit with out the sausage casing feeling.
In reading earlier reviews I also added the I Klim branded D30 level 2 Viper T5 Pro back pad and B coverage dual rated level 1/2 T5 EVO Pro XT shoulder and elbow pads. They all fit with no trimming needed.
I see now the elbows and shoulder pads have newer models available.
Needed a mesh jacket as midwest summers get muggy enough I would rather drive the car. with better ventilation I think I can finally endure the humidity.

Great choice for the BIG guy!
Im 6'3" 385lbs. I am a good 60" in the gut. This jacket fit me perfect. With the liner it is comfortable even sitting on my wing. Not sure about the liners rain resistance. They keep saying water resistant not water proof. We will see. No insulation so will not do much for below 50 but I will layer underneath. There is room. Sleeve length is good for me at my 36" even a little long. I rode with temps at 85 down to 77 and was totally comfortable. South Texas heat and humidity can be brutal so I will update later in summer after I get a chance to do more riding. Overall Great jacket. Thanks Revzilla for the advice from videos and when I called. Talked to Scott i think. Memory not great. But he said he was a big boy and wore the same jacket. I was thinking Olympia but glad he advised otherwise. Totally satisfied.

Bought for living in Hawaii
I bought this as I will never need anything close to "warm weather gear". First off, the fit is very large, so listen when they say to get a size smaller. I wear L t-shirts (tight) XL (loose) so I bought a L jacket. I will say that if I need to I have room to wear a fleece underneath. Buy a size smaller.
Airflow is excellent for riding in humid and hot (sunny) weather. I find that my legs, helmet, and hands are hot, but not my body. I do sweat underneath, but only because I am wearing a jacket in Hawaii. I like the adjustable straps, but there is only so far to adjust.
A ton of pockets, lost my keys for like 20 mins.
Glad I picked this one.

Big Boy review
I am a big guy, 6-2 and 280lbs. I cannot say enough about Firstgear jackets for us large folks.

I first bought the Kilamanjaro textile jacket for the winter and it keeps you warm even at low temps as 35 degrees.

I recently obtained the Adventure Mesh in Hi-Viz. Holy molly, if cagers cannot see me with this jacket on... they are truly blind!

The textile jacket was ordered as a 4X. This time I ordered a 3X jacket in mesh and there is still plenty of room left in the chest and waist.

I like the full styled jackets due to more pocket space.

The air flow on this mesh jacket is perfect. Riding in plus 80 degree weather and I am cool as a cucumber.

You cannot go wrong with Firstgear jackets, especially if you are on the large side of the scale.

It is nice to see cagers look at me coming at intersections and riding side by side. This Hi-Viz jacket makes even the smallest person stand out with this colored jacket.

Thank you Firstgear and Revzilla!

Love it
Got this jacket before an August trip from NJ up to the Adirondacks ... it flows a lot of air and the protection is more than adequate. Plenty of pockets. The jacket comes down to protect the backside while moving about on the bike.

On the cold mountain mornings the liner really did the job, making this a 50F - 100F jacket while wearing a technical underlayer (only).

Neck is comfortable and soft, no high collar.

Great jacket for the price!

Lovin' Goodness
I've been waiting for a good adv style mesh for the southwest climate, and jumped on the Firstgear the day it became available. Weather has not been hot enough yet to get a sense of real airflow and will compare it to my Joe Rocket Phoenix 4 when possible.
Overall I really like the jacket and its build and design. My other brand 2XL jackets fit a bit snug and this one is a boxier cut so it is roomy. I could probably have squeezed into an XL but prefer the slight additional room for hot weather.
Plenty of pockets and well thought out with a thin un-insulated waterproof liner that folds small enough to easily stow in the rear pouch.
The only complaint I have is the armor and its fit. It is a heavy CE rubber and I found the shoulder pads are cupped more than others, and as such catch the arm when inserting and were uncomfortable as well. I swapped armor from another jacket and the jacket fit better, eliminated the sleeve catching and was lighter. At the price point I really have no complaints however, and it is very well made and I like the feel and design.

Thumbs up!

Solid value
I have been looking for a 3/4 jacket to cover my belly. This jacket is cut American I am 6'1" and 275 lbs with a 48" waist and a 50" chest. The 3X is plenty roomy even adding a sweater will not be a problem. I tried the 4x and you would have to be at least 6'-4" to get the arms to fit. I like the way the waterproof liner can live in the tail pocket. The CE armor system is heavy. Overall the jacket has a bazillion pockets. I think some of the airflow is going to have to go through a couple larers of pockets. I will extend this review after I have been through some truly hot weather. Fit and finish are very good.

Makes wearing "all the gear, all the time" a reality!
So far, this jacket has performed above expectations! Airflow and style of jacket were the main reasons I purchased this jacket since I live in Northern Virginia and ride the HOV lanes on a daily bases into and out of Washington DC to get around some of the worst traffic on the planet. Temperatures routinely reach 100 degrees here in the summer with high humidity and this jacket flowed enough air while riding to be comfortable and made sitting at traffic lights tolerable. I've put the liner in for the morning commutes for the past couple weeks and this makes the jacket comfortable down into the 50's so far...not sure below that.
I went with the Hi-Vis yellow and don't regret it for a second, it really seems to work as I haven't been cut-off or pulled in front of nearly as much...so, I guess I'd rather look a little nerdy if I can live to ride another day.
The fit is great, I'm 6'4', and 205 lbs so I'm usually on the fence of ordering an XL or a L Tall...the Large Tall is perfect for me. All the pockets are great but, as another reviewer mentioned, they could have left a few off and airflow would be even better.

A tall guy's perspective
I'm 6'3", 190 lbs., with 36" sleeves and the large tall fit me well. However, given that my arms aren't as muscular as a guy like Anthony's I found that there was too much room for my arms--and the elbow pads in particular--to move around. Given that that's a safety issue I decided to return it and went with a jacket that had adjustable sleeves like the Firstgear Adventure Mesh (others do as well).

Meets and Exceeds Expectations!!
Living in southwestern Virginia, we certainly have to deal with our share of heat and humidity during the summer. It’s important to find riding gear that will provide some relief from the heat and still provide great protection. For me, the temptation to ride without appropriate safety gear is highest in the summer due to the discomfort from the heat. It’s with this in mind that I purchased the Firstgear Adventure Mesh Jacket.

My primary ride is a Yamaha FJR, so I’m riding more sport touring and not so much ADV. I spend about 75% of my time on the local streets and backroads here in the mountains of SW Virginia. The other 25% I spend on interstate or other “high-speed” roads.

First impressions: when I opened the box and unwrapped this jacket I was immediately impressed with the quality and workmanship. In full disclosure, I already own a Firstgear Kathmandu jacket, so I was expecting a high-quality product. The jacket feels heavy right out of the box, but that weight disappeared as I put the jacket on - It fit in all the right places.

Functionality: This jacket is LOADED with pockets. Honestly, I can’t ever see an occasion where I would use even half of them. There are 8 on the front of the jacket in a various shapes and orientations. The main zipper works flawlessly (no fumbling getting it seated and pulled up) and appears to be of a really heavy-duty quality. The liner pouch is nice, but I had room on the bike so I stored it there. The padding / armor is top quality. I did upgrade the back protection (Klim D3O Viper T5 Pro Back Protector fit perfectly).

Fit: I’m 6’-2 / 240 lbs. / 44” chest. I have long arms (usually wearing a 36”/37” sleeve length dress shirt). I ordered the Large Tall. Perfect fit. The adjustable waist and arm straps let me customize the fit even more. The collar is comfortable and didn’t cause me any discomfort.

Performance Test: I bought this jacket with the intention of wearing it on an 8-day tour of California. I knew I’d be experiencing temperatures from the 40’s to the 90’s and I would NOT have the luxury of bringing 2 jackets. This baby performed perfectly! From the cool dry temps of the Sierra’s, to the cool damp temps along the coast, to the hot dry temps of the central valley – I had NO complaints. The liner (I used it on the coolest days) was easy to deploy when needed. Funny story – we are riding from the coast to Fresno and the temp changes from low 60’s to the upper 90’s. Once in the central valley we stopped and many of the riders striped down to tank tops and tee shirts. I just pulled the liner. They looked at me and said “Man, you must be burning up in that thing…” “Nope,” I was just fine. They just didn’t seem to understand the difference between radiant heat and convective heat. By the time we got to Fresno, they were all just about heat stroked. In that environment, cover from the sun is critical.

Complaints / Recommendations: I don’t ride through tolls very often, but on a trip in Maine this summer I had to stop at 3 toll booths. Each time I removed my wallet from the front pouch pockets the pocket lining inverted. This was a pain to deal with when wearing gloves and trying to shove my wallet back in the pocket. Could the pocket lining be stitched to the shell or mess to prevent this?? It would be great if the quilted liner from my Kathmandu jacket worked with this jacket. It may, but my Kathmandu is an XL Tall while this is a LG Tall.

Final Analysis: I give this jacket 5 stars!! It performed well above my expectations. I would highly recommend it!
