Two nails -- two fixes
In the last two months I picked up two big nails commuting. It took five minutes to fix and put in some air. For use on the road, recommend some kind of air pump.

This kit saved me from stranded twice
bought this last year August, it's super easy to use.
I learned that deflate the tyre quite a bit for easier insertion.
I got an nasty 1" damage on my rear tyre last month, surprisingly 3 insertion managed to fix the leak.
I'm really impressed by this product.
Good job Dynaplug!

Fail
Got a hole in my tire yesterday. It wasn't from a nail or at least there was no nail in there when I found the leak. I could not get the plug inserted - maybe the hole didn't go through the carcass. This tool has no reamer function so I used a small screwdriver to create a through hole into the tire. After that I had a problem getting the small plug into the insertion tube. The plug is very sticky and flexible and it tends to bunch up as you try to insert it into the tube. I finally got the plug to go through the tire, pulled on the insertion tool, and trimmed the plug. It's very difficult to put much pressure on the tire to insert the plug because the tire has no pressure so the tire just gives way. Other systems have a threaded screw behind the plug that pushes the plug through the insertion tube without having to press on the tire. Anyway, after getting the plug in I put in one cartridge of CO2 to create some pressure. The leak was still bubbling. Fail.

It seems like this tool will only work for a very narrow range of punctures given its limitations. Now I am shopping for a repair kit that has a reamer and a better insertion tool. It will be a larger repair kit but worth it if it will actually save me on the trail.
