Well Made and Works Great
I installed this on my 2015 DRZ400S with stock exhaust. I've been using the Wolfman Enduro Saddlebags and it pushed in the plastic on the exhaust side and the plastic got melted on the pipe on one of my camping trips. Oops.

The DrySpec shield comes very nicely packaged with clear directions. Inside the box is the shield, a U shaped bracket you bolt to the shield with Allen head bolts and included nylock nuts, and through which you feed the included pipe clamp, and then it sits against the pipe with the clamp holding everything on.

There is a long silicone strip included which wraps around the exhaust to protect it from the clamp, and a silicone pad that the goes on the U shaped piece for when it sits against the pipe.

Because of the nature of the kit you can mount it on virtually any spot on your pipe or any up or down rotational location. Especially if your pipe is round like the DRZ stock exhaust. I put it so it is pretty parallel to the pipe and tucked just under the right rear plastic so there is no way the plastic can ever get mushed against the pipe again.

After putting it on I rode around town for an hour. Stop and go, fast stretches etc. When I got home I hopped off, took off my glove and the shield was only slightly warm to the touch. The pipe of course was very hot.

I waited a few minutes to see if the shield would soak up more heat from the pipe without any wind on it. Not really. It was still only warm to the touch and perfectly safe to put anything against. I had a piece of plastic packing bubble from the shipping box and touched it to the shield. Nothing happened. Win!

I really like the shape of this and the fact that it is black so it doesn't stand out on the bike like some competitors' products.

I would absolutely recommend this and I will buy another for my next bike.

Completely different use
Despite using it differently, the product itself is very high quality and deserves the positive review. Parts all looks great, feel extremely sturdy, and are very nicely finished all around.

I bought this to protect soft luggage after switching to a smaller Leo Vince pipe on my CB500X. Mounted it upside down onto the bag with a few washers as spacers and it has done an excellent job keeping the bag cool so far.

Heat shield
Was hoping it was 600cc compatible.. A little pricey for what it is but this is the best looking one! Gone on long rides with it, it barely even gets warm and holds position well. People tell me it looks like it's meant to be there!

Works good but fit could be better
This heat shield seems to be good quality. It's a nice size, not too big, not too small. Been using for a few weeks now to cover my Fmf q4 exhaust (mounted near the passenger peg) to deflect heat while riding a passenger. Stays warm to the touch after an hour or so of riding. keeps my GFs ankle safe from burns! Cons: the silicone strip provided to keep from scratching exhaust Is not wide enough. silicon gets wound up in the clamp when tightening. Clamp gets tight but the actual heat shield wiggles a bit more than id like. Price is a bit much for what it is/does.

A must if you are going to use the DrySpec bags that hang near or on the muffler. Easy install.

My Tiger 800XC has a high pipe and I currently use a Wolfman Beta saddle bag that needs protection from the Dos Hermanos (Two Brothers) pipe.

Hi,

I kindly seek the advice of what would be of a best fit as an Exhaust Heat Shield on my Triumph Tiger Explorer xc 1200 model: 2014?

Best regards,
