These are mounted on my Aprilia Caponord.

Operation: Before hooking them up, consider the pros and cons of wiring them up into your high/low beam switch. In my case, the shop did not follow my instructions to hook them up this way, so the D2s burn at 100% intensity when turned on. With that said, you'll want to aim them in a manner that does not blind oncoming drivers. After some adjustments to the beam angle, no one has complained yet (or at least oncoming traffic has not flashed their lights at me yet. I have also mounted them low enough on a crash bar to create a nice triangle of light that may not annoy others. Had they been installed to a high/low beam switch, I would not be as concerned. Finally, given that they are LEDs, the sides of the unit do not get unbearably hot to the touch.
Installation: I can't speak to the installation because I paid a local shop to handle it. Overall, however, I don't think it would have been terribly difficulty. It just takes some patience and due care like any other wired component. My set is mounted to a set of cb500x SW-motech crash bars.
Interchangeable Lens: The instructions do not include any guidance on swapping out the spot and diffuser lenses. While it wasn't rocket science, it involved a level of frustration that instructions could have prevented. In particular, when removing the unit caps, be sure to grasp them so they do not fall to the ground and take the glass/plexi covers with them (they're not secured in the cap). Once removed, you will notice a white gasket around each interchangeable lens. It is a bit tricky to remove and remount the gasket without some trial and error. Note, the gasket also holds the interchangeable lens in place. So swapping the interchangeable lenses requires some coordination since they do not snap/click/twist in. They basically rest in the center of and are supported by the gasket; you need to figure out which one goes in first. It's an odd set up.
Durability: I dropped my bike while failing to negotiate a stop/start on a hill (rookie here). The left light was the first to contact the ground with the weight of the bike on it. The screws in light's crash bar mount twisted and enabled the light to pivot away. Thankfully, the light still works even though the impact bent the crash bar. Power Switch: My switch is mounted to a coordinating switch plate. As other reviewers have noted, there is nothing to indicate whether the switch is weatherproof. If you plan to keep these on all of the time, you may want to mount the switch under your seat.
