Does not have speed lacing system like the non Gore-Tex version.
First off, you open the box and these boots are awesome. I bought these as my first track capable motorcycle boot and Dainese doesn't disappoint. They look awesome! They feel awesome. They're comfortable! However, I only have one downside.

The description on these boots doesn't make it super clear that when you add Gore-Tex to the D1 Torque out, you lose the speed lace system. This to me is a deal breaker. I have heard of boots being blown/thrown off of feet in dramatic crashes. Without the speed lace system being in this boot, I personally did not feel as though the boot would stay on as well as other boots I have tried on.

For example, before buying these, I tried on the Sidi ST's at a local brick and mortar store. The cam locks on the ST's allow you to tighten the boots into a calf tourniquet if you want them that tight! There is no way with this boot to tighten them in this way. Pair that with no speed lace system due to maintaining the integrity of the Gore-Tex and they just don't provide the "glued-in" feel I was looking for. YMMV, but if you like a tight fighting boot, I would not suggest the Gore-Tex version.

For that reason, I requested a return label today and will be re-purchasing the same boot (non Gore-Tex) once these are refunded. Hope this helps some of you!

Last note, as a commuting only boot, this thing would be a PERFECT aggressive commuting boot. Super comfortable, easy to don/doff, waterproof, and hella cool. I just worry about them for track use or in the potential for a "boot launching" type of high-side crash.

Strange Fit
My boot background for the last six years: Two pairs of Alpinestars SMX-5 boots (size 45), and one pair of Dainese TR-Course Out boots (size 44). Very impressed with both; snug/secure fit; comfortable; wore them until they wore out. Even low-sided in the TR-Course Outs; protected the side of my foot and ankle well.

Based on my experience with the TR-Course Out, I thought this Torque D1 Out Gore-Tex would fit like a glove, but it didn't. For whatever reason, it feels very "sloppy" on the foot. I could almost pull it off without unzipping it even though my toes were right up in the toe-box.

I hate giving a bad review on a Dainese product because I love my Dainese jacket and TR-Course Out boots...but something is wonky on the fit of these Torque D1 Out Gore-Tex boots. Great quality - super cool looking - just a weird fit.

Sending back - gonna try the Dainese TRQ-Tour Gore-Tex to see if the fit is different. Maybe it's just a Gore-Tex boot thing - I dunno.

Perfect for the track, and waterproof in case it rains buckets.
Brian C on Apr 7, 2017
RevZilla video absolutely convinced me to get the TRQ Touring, but when I called they said Dainese didn't make them anymore, but they recommended the closest thing for a variety of reasons. I would have preferred a more subtle product, but safety and quality wins.

Are these boots suitable for really (I mean REALLY) HOT summer weather, considering GoreTex & perforations?
A shopper on Jun 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Well I wear the Sidi Adventure which is an even hotter boot than this, in the tropical summer, and in heavy traffic most of the time. I don't really feel any difference to vented boots.
Is this boot useful in colder weather? My toes get cold in my TR Course boots below 60.
Michael B on Jun 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I think with a nice sock like the klim mammoth socks your toes will be pretty warm.
