Another Dainese quality product
Lightweight, super comfortable, ultimate air flow, quality materials, excellent design.

I was going to buy the Forcefield Pro Lite K but, I'm glad I waited for this to arrive.

Fits great in my Avro D1, Perforated Race D1 & Super Speed textile jackets.

Very flexible, flows air, but short for tall riders
It's very flexible, you'll hardly notice it.

Far more air flow than solid design spine protectors - even those with much less protection.

I'm 6' 2" with a normal to relatively short torso, and the G2 leaves a couple thoracic and lumbar vertebrae unprotected. Wish they would offer 3 sizes??

Back Protection has come a LONG Way
Bought for my Dainese jackets and primarily for my Dainese Air Frame D1 Mesh jacket - air flow is best in class, it is comfortable (pliable) and rated for CE2 protection... outstanding. Even fits in my AlpineStars jacket too. Only knock is the typical premium price for the brand but that's part of the package with anything Dainese.

Awesome replacement for the Wave!
Love this back protector! A lot more flexible, better air flow, and fits the jackets (Women's Racing D1, Hydra Flux D-Dry, and Air Crono) better than the Wave ever did. Definitely happy with this purchase.

Good but stiff
I bought this back protector (G2) for my Dainese Razon jacket. I also have the Manis D1 and Alpinestars Nucleon KR-2i.

While it is more comfortable than the Manis, it doesn't quite match up to the flexibility of Nucleon, with the large Nucleon being the same dimensions as the Pro Armor G2. It's just too stiff to be comfortable, and I'm always reminded that it's there.

Good, Not Great
Dainese needs to release a 3 size system for back protector inserts. G1 and G2 just doesn't cut it when you are "in between" sizing. The cut off to move up to a G2 is size EU50 typically. If you are a guy in the 46-48 range, this is challenging, as you will likely find the G1 far to small. On the pro armor, feels slightly smaller still compared to the Manis.

Size Medium ( read as G1, G2, G3 Dainese!) would be perfect for riders in this size range.

I fortunately find that my G1 Pro Armor fits particularly well in my EU48 Super Speed jacket. I've since purchased an Alpinestars Nucleon insert in size Medium and they fit perfect in my Dainese textile jackets. The A* Nucleon was $30 cheaper as well!

What are you waiting for?
Great back protector.
I compared it to my old Forcefield ProLite K 001 used from a different jacket. The Dainese is taller by like 2-3", more comfortable due to flexibility, breathes wonderfully, and carries the same CE level 2 certification.
So what are you waiting for??

Finakky here!
I really like this new back protector. It fits perfectly in my Dainese fighter jacket. It is quite flexible but I was expecting to be even more from the revzilla video review. Still it is better then the pro-lite back protector, slimmer and more flexible.

It's OK
Placed this in my Dainese Jacket and it fits perfectly. Flows air well and can tell that if I needed it, the protection would be there. But damn if this thing is just ungodly uncomfortable. Seriously, there is no flex to it. Its like riding with a piece of plywood as your back protector. I know the waffle shapes are there to flow air well but I have noticed that my leather is starting to show these shapes. Was worried it was going to ruin my jacket so I placed a thin piece of cardboard between it and the leather. If I had to do it again I would have purchased a different one, mainly the AS.

I own several Dianese jackets, and I much prefer this back protector over the wave or the manis. Pro armor is much more comfortable and less intrusive. I've changed all of my Dianese back protectors to G1.

Because it's lightweight, flows air and is level 2. It's frustrating that a 500 dollars mesh Dainese doesn't come with one, but whatever.

Can you provide specific measurements? I'm hoping it will fit in a non-Dainese jacket I own.
Jack S on Feb 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: G2 is 17.5" long and 9.25" wide
Is this quite a bit thinner than the Forcefield Pro-Lite K? How do the two compare with one another? Also, when does it release? So far it's saying it's a pre-order.
A C on Feb 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it is thinner.

I'm deciding whether to use either the Dainese Pro Armor Back Protector or Dainese Manis Back Protector inside a Dainese Men's Size 48 Leather Jacket. Should I buy the D1/ G2 Protector or D1/ G1 as it's a smaller jacket?
A C on Apr 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: G1 is shorter/smaller than the G2. The Pro Armor is thin/lighter/more flexible than the Manis.
I have a size 44 Men's, witch is the smallest Mens jacket they make, will the D2 still work, or should I go to a D1?
Eaton B on May 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If you have a Dainese men's jacket, regardless of size, you have to use the G2. The women's jacket have pocket to fit the G1 armor.

Melis H on Aug 6, 2017
What is the difference between the G1 and G2 versions?
David W on Jan 14, 2017

g1 or g2 for dainese mens Dainese Hydra Flux D-Dry Jacket? im have a size 48
A C on Jun 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: the g2 does not fit in all men's Dainese jackets. It depends on the pocket stitching.
