Bull-it SR6 Cargo Convertible Zip-Off Riding Jeans

The Bull-it SR6 Cargo Zip-Off Jeans have a regular fit with approximately 0.5" to 1" of flexibility at the waist. The legs of the jeans zip off at the knees, and there is a calf zipper that allows easy on/off for boots. These straight leg jeans are suitable for inside or outside any boot. SR6 refers to the amount of abrasion resistance. SR6=6.26 seconds of abrasion protection. Compare this with 1.4MM cowhide's 5.8 seconds of abrasion resistance, and you'll agree that the Bull-it SR6 Jeans set a higher standard.  Add in a water repellent finish, and you'll find yourself reaching for the Bull-it SR6 Jeans whenever you ride.

Note: RevZilla has found the Bull-it SR6 Cargo Convertible Zip-Off Riding Jeans to run a bit small in the waist and suggests going up if you are between sizes.

Utilitarian, stylish and comfortable
Was very pleased to find pants that would work for me. 34" waist, 24" thigh and 28" inseam makes pants a nightmare for me. Of course they will always need hemming but typically by the time they go around my waist and thigh the crotch ends up nearer my knees and often requires folding the waistband over once. Not with these. The relaxed cargo fit really worked in the waist, hip, thigh and crotch. I ordered the 34/32 and my seamstress had to cut off basically the entire length of the boot zippers, like 7". But that worked too as the Covec liner stops above the boot zipper, so super easy alteration. I'll add that these might be usable for ladies of similar dimension as the waist has an inner draw string and additional buttons on the outer waist straps could easily be added.
The first thing I noticed is the pants weigh a lot, like maybe 3 or 4 lbs. I was worried they would be too hot and bulky. They feel more secure than bulky I'd say and though I've only ridden with the lowers zipped off so far the liner appears to keep an air pocket that keeps things comfortable. I expect they will also be relatively warm in the cooler months too. As shorts they are quite wearable and though a little heavy they just appear to be regular cargo shorts. I wore mine for several hours at a backyard bbq and never really felt like I was wearing "gear".
If I had to say something bad about them the cotton pant feels a bit slippery on my vinyl seat. And more color options would be nice. Overall pretty stoked on these pants.

Great riding pants!
I wore these pants on a very hot day riding from Virginia to Florida, and they were great. I never once removed the lower pant leg or unzipped them for more airflow. It was hot, but not iunbearable and I felt protected. The fit was excellent, very comfortable!

Sizing is off and armor does not adjust
I've tried 2 sizes and both have been returned. I found the waist size too small even though I ordered the size I have worn in jeans for years. I wear a 38 waist and that size in these was about an inch too small. I could barely get them buttoned. I reordered a size 40 waist and they fit great, unfortunately the legs are much too baggy for my liking and allow too much movement of the armor away from where it should sit. The armor pockets are not made correctly. There is no adjustment for the position and the one position is too low for both the knees and the hips even using Bull-It's own Covec armor. It almost looks like the armor pockets were installed upside down in both pairs.

The knee armor sits below my knees standing or seated and there is no way to move it up. The hip armor is almost in the correct position, but is also a bit too low with no way to move it up.

They look like they are constructed well, but just nothing I want to trust my safety to on the road.

Not bad for my first riding pants.
I've only used these pants for a few weeks, but I like them. They can get a bit warm, and the interior mesh/knee armor pocket chafes my kneecaps, but overall they are comfortable.

My minor complaints, the beltline is a bit low, so pulling them up to where I normally wear pants sort of restricts the crotch space. So I push them down a bit and wear a belt. The interior mesh/knee armor pocket also chafes at my kneecaps, but this is really only a problem if wearing them all day. Also, the knee armor pocket is a bit low. While standing, the knee armor is below my knee, when riding I need to give it a slight tug to set the armor in the correct position for my knees. But it's only off maybe 1/2 inch at the most. I'm going to try and sew up the bottom portion of the knee pocket a bit and see if I can't get the armor to settle into the correct position by itself as I pull my legs up into the riding position. Other than that, no complaints, and I think the SR6 pants are a better safety choice than the SR4 pants.

Nice riding pants
These are very good riding pants. They are pretty heavy to wear off of the bike. They are more riding pants than jeans. my normal waist size is 38, I bound these in 40 and they fit.

Worth it even before clearance price
Fit true to size, but a little bulky looking. Extremely comfortable and casual, wore them all day at work and no one noticed they weren't regular pants. Would not recommend to ride to the office, as stated above they are a bit bulky. The lining is very soft. There's no vents, but they flow some air and if you really wanted to you could partially unzip at the knee. Highly recommend.

Great Bang for the buck, get the right size and they are phenomenal
These pants are amazing and for the discounted price, you cannot beat the value for money you get!!
They look great and the inside of the pants is very very soft and comfortable. They offer better protection then any jeans out there and even mesh and textile. You add the knee and hip protection and you got yourself the perfect pants for protection and comfort without breaking the bank.
The biggest advice is watch out for your fit, DO NOT GO by your jeans size, measure your waist and get what coincides with that. I was 36 to 37 inch and i got the 36x30 and they fit perfectly.
Abrasion resistance that rivals leather, add CE protection for knees and hips all for under $180, what more can be asked for.
These pants are highly under rated.

First pair of dedicated riding pants.
I bought these because I'm in a hot part of the country and leather is just about out of the question. I have worn these around the house a couple days and have found that the pockets for the armor are fastened with velcro and the chafing reported is coming from this ill conceived construction. I have Bonn Armour so I won't have an issue with these lame concepts. If these velcro corners snag and cut my armor which I plan on wearing under the pants,, I'm going to be frosted for sure. I may just cut all that out of the pants as not to take a chance. Other than that, the pants are very soft, suple and comfy on the inside. The zip off bottoms I could do without also. Perhaps the bottoms may separate at the zippers in a crash senerio which I don't plan to test. I like the idea that these pants provide a level of protection comparable to leather. Doesn't indicate what level of leathers these pants compare to as far as I've seen. I do wish the sizing would be a bit more extensive as I needed a 33 waist and settled for a 32. Loose baggy clothing seems a hazard when riding and I want my armor to stay put so I'll poor myself into these with my armour on and have a nice riding experience even though my voice may be an octave higher. Also, hi-viz is a priority for me so black pants didn't fill that slot so I'll be bi-viz everywhere else. A hi-viz cool looking shirt, (not jacket), would be another idea I'd run by the R & D folks and made out of the same protective materials. For a guy, I have a shapely derriere and these pant seem to fit just fine if not a tad "hip hugger" which I don't prefer. That's about it so far. I do wish I could have a more extensive review after riding for a numbers of hours and days but we can rely on some othe the other riders for that. Keep the shiny side up!!
