Black Version Backing Made of Plastic.
These were the size and style I was looking for, but unfortunately the black version's backing is made of plastic (and looks it), while the stems are metal. Not thrilled to have to pay $8 to boomerang these back to Revzilla.

Just Like OEM
These are some great mirrors. Wanted some mirrors to look like my stock mirrors. They are made of true mirror glass and chrome finishing. The vibration in the mirror is equal to the stock mirrors. Tried to go cheap with some $15 mirrors (per pair) off ebay. There was a lot of vibration and they did not have the weight of the stock mirrors. Tried the Bike Master American Mirror and they had the weight and feel of my stock mirrors.

My bike fell in my driveway ( in neutral, running, facing down hill, handle bars straight..... yea, I know, I know....) allowing it to warm up. My mirror was scratched on the back side on the chrome finish along with some other scratches and damages. I wanted to replace the scratched mirror and an OEM was $150 for one mirror. Found these and though they were not the direct replacement, they fit the bill nicely.

Worth replacing stock mirrors.
So after my little brother dropped my bike, and causing one of the stock mirrors to brake, I wanted to buy another original. A whopping $60 for one. No thank you. It is smaller then the original, however it does get the job done.

Since the bike is my only source of transportation I can assure it has no vibration effect. So far the fastest I have gone on it is around 70mph and it holds like a charm.

Another feature I like it is that it can be adjusted to go on either left or right side. So if you want something on a good quality build on a budget look no further! This will get the job done.

I currently have a pair of these mirrors. the quality of the mirror is great, although I was a bit bummed to find that only the mirror stem is metal. The mirror back is made of plastic.

For the Chrome, is the backing metal or plastic?
A C on Nov 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: PLastic backing. But the mirrors are made of real glass. That is more important to me.
Does the Yamaha V650 Custom use the 10mm or reverse thread type of these mirrors?
