Alpinestars Tech-Air 10 Race System

Tech-Air 10 is a slim, self-contained wearable airbag suit designed to be worn under any Alpinestars Tech-Air Ready and Tech-Air Compatible leather suits, or any third-party leather suit with 4 cm of space around the circumference of the rider’s chest and 2 cm of room around the circumference of the rider’s hips. The additional space for the chest and hips is necessary to be able to accommodate the inflation of the airbag, in the event of a crash.

The state-of-the-art Tech-Air 10 System features 12 integrated sensors (3 accelerometers plus 1 gyroscope) to continuously monitor the rider’s position. An algorithm developed closely with MotoGP race data and data from over 2,000 lab-simulated crash scenarios determine when and how the system deploys. The airbag has a maximum inflation time of up to 40ms (or less, depending on vest size). The impact absorption while wearing the airbag results in a decrease of impact force by up to 95% compared to a passive protector. Inflation time is quick enough to deploy the airbag before the rider's first impact with an obstacle.

The airbag has a battery life good for 24 hours of riding time on a single charge, and an LED display system status directly on the belt. The system features Bluetooth connectivity to pair with the Tech-Air App, which uses the rider’s phone to display the system’s operational status, battery status and provide detailed analysis of a ride. Over-the-air firmware updates are also handled through the app. Alpinestars includes a micro USB charger for quick recharging.

Sizing Note: Tech-Air 10 is best worn with a one or two piece riding suit - a leather suit needs to be Tech-Air ready or have 4cm of room in the torso and 2cm of room in the hips. Tech-Air 10 can also be used with textile jacket/pants combos, but not with a tight fitting belt.
