Repeat purchase - indefinitely
Excellent fit and feel. Second pair. First pair went through several crashes with good wear and excellent protection - just time for replacement when the leather fully ground through on the last wheels up incident. Ordering a back up pair soon for the “spares box” at the track. Highly recommend.

Still a great glove but inconsistent fit.
I am replacing my older GP Pro gloves with the V2. There's about a $70 increase from the old version. Still, it's a very full featured glove and the only reason I would ever want more than it offers is if I absolutely needed more kangaroo. Well I actually want the kangaroo but just not willing to pay Supertech prices. The sizing is extremely inconsistent for Alpinestars. My old GP Pros were size L and fit perfect, Fingers were about 3/16" longer than I needed but it slid on easily but with a firm fit. They've lasted 5 years. The new ones were real difficult to get past the wrist opening and the fit is tighter. Finger length is the same. It'll break in. I ordered 2 pair, XL and L. The L is what I kept. The XL, while the fingers were longer, were not any wider and I actually couldn't get my hand past the wrist. No go. I ordered the GP Plus previously and the L was so tight in the wrist, I couldn't get my 4 fingers through, never mind the thumb. Alpinestars has a problem with making their sizes consistent. So order 2 and send 1 back like I did. I have no reason to believe this glove won't last as long as my first pair. The air flow is better. I don't like the shortened wrist strap. The longer 1 tucked away under the wrist flap and gave you more to grab onto when taking them off. 4 1/2 stars.

Saved my Hands
They are alittle pricey for the average street rider. But if you like to ride hard which I do, it was a investment i was willing to make to protect my hands. At first they were super stiff, but after riding a few times they began to break in. Which led them to be super comfortable over time. The knuckles are super solid and its a gauntlet so it came up the wrist just perfectly over my jacket. The airflow is actually really great for leather. These things are awesome. I really love the look of them as well. However a few of the stitches started coming loose on my pointer and middle finger of my throttle hand which led to the ends of fingertips to start being exposed. I was going to send back in to get a new pair because it was within a year of purchase. But unfortunately I laid down my R1 playing around at around 50 mph, and these gloves saved my hands and wrists. Other gear helped as well, but hands are naturally going to the pavement in a slide. To make long story short... the gloves have major road rash and some heavy damage but they did the job they were designed to do. So after all is said and done. SOLID INVESTMENT. Skin graphs are a lot more expensive then gloves. Remember that.

Look good, wrist is small
Nice looking gloves with good design. I measure 9.5 and bought the XXL. The glove is snug when i first put it on but seems to be breaking in so will probably be ok once worn a fair amt. Point is its a XXL for a palm size 9.5. Also, the fingers are just barely long enough for mine. My fingers are: Index 3, 3.5, 3.5, pinky 2.5 inches for reference. I agree with others that I wish the wrist band was longer so that there was more there to connect to velcro when wrapped around a jacket sleeves when wearing. I also wish there was more protection on the back of the hand. There is some padding and lined with kevlar so probably ok. Knuckle protection with blades is great.

I love these gloves
I'm a new rider and so I kind of just went off what I thought would maximize protection for cost. I ended up getting these in the white yellow black color and they have absolutely been my favorite piece of gear I've bought without really having any standards set for what to look for in gloves.

The feeling is great, I feel like I'm wearing one of those thin gloves you'd use if you were in a science class or working at a barbecue joint. They're very comfortable, especially after you break them in.

The air flow is phenomenal. I went on a 200 mile ride today in roughly 95 degree heat and it was hot, especially at lights. Never once did I feel like my hands were overheating or did I feel my hands sweating (and my hands tend to sweat a lot, embarrassingly).

They really are a great buy, in my inexperienced rider opinion. I was just looking for the best I could find in terms of protection, without spending a ridiculous amount of money, and having palm sliders (which the supertechs lack, though these are CE level 2 just the same as those!).

Highly recommended

Tight and too large at the same time
I bought the Alpinestars GP Pro R2 Gloves because I wanted a top end track ready maximum protection gauntlet and I had previously owned a Alpine Stars Gauntlet that I was happy with. Since that previous model was a size medium, I ordered the medium again and it turned out that there was no way I could squeeze my hand into a medium on this model.
So I exchanged it for the large size. Now I can put on the glove but after break in, the fingers are too loose. There are many moments were I wish I had more precision in my throttle grip but I don't because of the design of this glove.
The wrist size is so tight, I would still not fit into a medium but something is off with this glove.
I wanted to love it but I can't for this reason.

The Canadian's Review
Thank you RevZilla for your fast and reliable service.

Even though its spring here, we are still in the negative weather so I am unable to provide a review on air flow at the moment. Also, for protection and durability, there is not much to comment on, other than it appears to be a safer riding glove. The true test would be experiencing them on during a fall/slide.

I fell in love with these glove at first site. The style is amazing and it will match my colour coordination scheme. I prefer not to mix and match my brands as I have the Alpinestars Atem Jacket, Alpinestars Supertech-R Boots, and Alpinestars leather track pants. If Alpinestars made helmets then I probably would buy one depending on the style.

Back to the glove. My hand measurements were roughly 9 inches around, which led me to purchasing the XL. I tried the LG on at a local store last summer and I could barely remember the fitment so needless to say I was a bit apprehensive ordering these.

Remember, these fit a size smaller than other brands. I wear a large in Icon gloves which means I had to go a size up with Alpinestars. There was a little extra room in the tip of my thumb but its nothing to worry about as it was the only finger.

RevZilla does an excellent product review videos. A minor detail left out of the video would have been knowing Anthony's hand size in inches when he goes on to explain that he wears an XL. I say this because it would have made it easier to gage and compare too for our own sizing. He still does an amazing job in the video, so thank you Anthony!

Thank you RevZilla for all your hard work!

Broken Promises
I really wanted to love these gloves. Note: I only ride on the track and I don't compromise on protective gear. I've been racing for 12 years and have been using Alpinestars gloves for almost the entire duration. However, over the years I have seen their quality deteriorate substantially (these gloves are made in China). I recently purchased these gloves and wore them for the first time during a 20 minute warm up session on the track. I pulled into the pits and noticed that the stitching on inside seam (near the wrist zipper of my race suit) began to unravel. Again, 1 session, 20 minutes, did not crash or snag on sharp object. Stitching unraveled to the point that my skin was exposed. Luckily I had back-up pair of gloves in my gear bag or else my race weekend would be been cut short. More importantly, if I was to crash, these gloves would not have held up. I do NOT recommend them. Revzilla was great and was able to return the for 100% refund. Adios Alpinestars. Going to purchase Knox V14 instead.

Runs pretty small
Maybe I just have an odd size of hand. These gloves are extremely hard to put on, they have a little wrist strap that I end up popping out to even get on and it's nearly impossible to tighten it once I have the gloves on. I tried several sizes and these seem to be the best fit since you want to get a little smaller to have the leather fit to you but several weeks in now it's gotten pretty comfortable once actually get them on but my hands still get the circulation cut off during too long of rides in my palm. I definitely feel in a crash they would protect me and the cooling features work well but for how pricy these are I expected a better design.

Camparing the AlpineStars GP Tech and GP Pro R2, I am wondering which is a better choice? Considering both have a difference of 30bucks... thanks for the help guys. Rookie rider here
Lee Y on Oct 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have the GP Pro R2 and had looked at the GP Tech, I think the Pro R2 is more up to date and has a lot more protection and comfort. Also I think the bridge on the last two fingers is more flexible on the Pro. The cuff is a bit more streamlined not as bulky. I felt that this was the best glove for the fit and protection and the money. I looked at the Supertech, but with less scaphoid protection, I decided this was better for my use.
How do these compare to the GP Tech Gloves?
Peter D on Nov 16, 2016
Can I use a mobile phone with this gloves?
A C on Apr 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely not.
With the extra bridging on this glove am I still going to be able to use two fingers for braking?
Michael A. S on Aug 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: As long as your two fingers are your index and middle fingers, yes. The bridge is between the ring and pinkie. I have used bridged Gloves for years, they are perfectly suitable (and you could say designed for) for two finger brake/clutch use.
What is the country of manufacture on the gp pro R2 and go techs?
A shopper on Dec 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Alpinestars is an Italian company and I believe they have one actual store in Southern California. Don’t know if any others. Haven’t really looked into it much. Hopefully this was helpful. Boots and glove run American in size for most of their products.
In the pics it looks red but in the video looks more like an orange does anybody have this color and can say which it is?
