Crash tested and still used for daily commute
I got these gloves right in the end of fall and I still use them now coming close to summer. The reason is because after getting hit by a pick up truck at 50mph on the freeway and doing a flip (along with my bike); followed by me landing on my palm as I did the fastest cartwheel of my life... my hands "looked" perfectly fine. Given, I had a pretty severe sprain on my wrist, everything else about my hands were fine. I recovered from my sprain after just a few days. Had I not had the gloves, I would be looking at road rash, possible down to muscle due to the velocity I crashed at. And that I would most likely have bone damage as well since I was flipping and landing on my palm first (all 170lbs of me also going at 50mph). But because of the sturdy padding, I really made it out without nary a scratch (wish I could say the same about my bike...). The only damage to the glove was a slight rubbing out of the palm area (not enough for me to even purchase another pair as I'm still wearing it everyday).

Anyways, besides the obvious protective qualities that I can confirm first-hand. The comfort of the glove is what drove me to get it in the first place. It's a short cuff so I got that due to its ease to put on and take off for my commute. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area so it's rideable all year but it does get down to around 40 degrees, give or take 5 in the coldest part of winter. During that super cold time, I still had to use liners or after 30 minutes on the bike, I can barely feel my fingers. Once temps hit around 50, then the glove is actually perfect. Now that the temps can get around 70, I'm about to retire these gloves for the summer but I can still wear them relatively comfortably with just a slight tinge of sweatiness after a long session of riding and waiting on red lights.

The glove is advertised as water proof, but I'd have to say it's not 100% waterproof. I went through several bouts of severe rainstorms and I still had damp hands but it really wasn't that bad at all. Honestly, if you're getting a short cuff, you know you're sacrificing full waterproofing anyways.

Case in point, get these gloves. I cared enough about these gloves that I wrote an essay for it. I think that proves how much I care about the quality of this product.

Great Glove but liner needed.
After my last waterproof glove which I loved (Patrol) ripped, I bought these gloves. Number 1 they look and feel great on my hands. Number 2 they also feel better on the throttle than my last gloves. Number 3 the only thing is that if the temperature is below 39 degrees F, your fingers will freeze. But with my thin glove liners that problem is nullified.

They are fully waterproof though and I really like them. Finally the thumb visor wipe is not too bad, my trick so you don't block your entire view is to make a thumbs up gesture and wipe (Its also seen as being friendly to cars haha).

Excellent wet/cold weather gloves
These are excellent wet and cold weather gloves. I usually ride with mesh textile gloves because of warm weather. However, on the freeway in cooler weather, I much prefer to have these gloves with limited airflow. They are good in rain as well. They aren't the warmest gloves ever due to thin insulation, but can be combined with a glove liner. Somewhat bulky, but that is to be expected with this type of glove. Look like they would fair well in a crash. They run on the small size.

Stylish Protection
These gloves have not been put to cold weather testing yet, but I have ridden in some heat, and I must say the ventilation is next to none on hot days. My hands would get sweaty, but not uncomfortable sweaty. When it is windy outside, I find the gloven more in their element. I can see these gloves being my morning commute gloves and having something with more ventilation for the afternoon/evening. All in all I'm happy.

Good gloves not for COLD morning rides.
This glove are good for morning rides but not in COLD morning rides. My fingers are freezing cold i have to put my hands in the warm engine. I haven't tried to put a liner inside for good measure, maybe that will help. But the afternoon rides are OK.

First impression
It is not going to be real review, but i do believe that my first impression and comparison might help someone with decision. I'm a V-Strom ADV rider and I was looking for my first $100+ pair of gloves for cold time of the year (Carolina's winter 30-55f range). I ended up ordering 5 pairs of gloves I liked:

Alpinestars T-SP W Drystar Gloves (SKU: 1314369)
Alpinestars Andes OutDry Gloves (SKU: 1245178)
Alpinestars Corozal Drystar Gloves (SKU: 1063055)
Klim Quest Short Gloves (SKU: 1072787)
Z1R 270 Gloves (SKU: 1010795)

I've made my decision w/o riding in any off them (in order to return them).
After several hours playing with them, i decided to keep Corozal and Z1R, here is why:

I wasn't sure how thick/warm/bulky gloves with and w/o isolation will be. I already have pair of perforated summer gloves and ski style, bulky winter gloves.

I considered following in my choice:
- Warm enough for 30-60 deg. on V-Strom with hand guards and Waterproof when happen.
- Comfortable for long tours and active runs on twisties.
- Protection

T-SP W Gloves - No isolation, Very comfy, perforated on the palm side, well protected, spot on fitment on my made in Europe 8 1/4 hands. They would be really good for warm season or probably 50-70 temp. range.

Andes - No isolation,The Most comfortable ones, really Touring oriented gloves, protection isn't as good as Corozal and T-SP W, be careful with sizing! Very roomy especially in fingers (at least 1/2" longer than T-SP W and Corosal). If Corosal will be too warm - will probably order Andes in S size.

Klim Quest - No isolation, Very comfortable, Roomy to my fingers, Protection level very close to Andes. Gore-Tex will probably shine in real rainy situations.

Z1R - Decided to keep them as my backup gloves. Very good glove for the price for sure!

Alpinestars Corozal Drystar Gloves - My choice!

Got isolation but still very comfortable and not too bulky!
Ideal fit for my hands!
The most protected gloves, at least i feel safer with them.
Very good styling!
I was very skeptical to order 2015 model Gloves in almost 2019. But I do like them most.

Again this is simple real impression and my humble opinion!
Thanks Revzilla for opportunity to try and decide.

Incredible Winter Glove aT This Price Point
I have had Alpinestars before (always at the top of their game). These gloves are truly incredible: fit, finish, features, safety and warmth at a very reasonable price point. Watch the great video on-line and believe them when they say these run small. I am usually a large to extra large, needed a 2xl in these. Buy them, you will not be sorry, you will be shocked by what you get for the $$$$....
