Love these boots, great protection without breaking the bank
Having had Tourmaster Solution 2.0 WP, I was looking for something with a lot more protection without breaking the bank. Budget touring boots are simply too soft. I found the typical track and touring boots (below $500) just didn't seem to have the level of protection I was looking for including the SMX Plus. I realized that I had to go with an adventure boot to get what I was looking for. I even tried Sidi but no matter what I tried, they never felt comfortable. I love the fit of AlpineStars.

Most adventure boots are huge and ungainly for commuting and recreational riding and I want to be able to pull my pants overtop of the boot. These Belize boots are perfect. They offer a level of protection that the typical touring and track boots cannot, while being low enough to ride underneath the pant cuff. I had to adjust my shifter to accommodate a stiffer and thicker boot, but after that, I found the sweet spot and shifting is a breeze. Nearly every boot, besides the Toucan, has areas of unreinforced leather but the leather on the Belize is thick and sturdy, not too soft and supple. I found the boots ran a bit large and ended up with a 9 for my 9.5-10 foot.

What I was looking for
Tired a few boots in this style and the other two while the fit was good had no ankle movement or flex which for me made it both impossible to shift and difficult at stops. The Belize was what I was looking for. I wear a 10.5 3E in regular shoes/boots. I ordered the 11 in the Belize and length is a little longer than another 11 I have but not to bad. Also I was pleasantly surprised that the width while not 3e is at least an e which in this was just fine. The best part is the forward and backward ankle movement. I can shit and have no problems at stops.. Been wearing them for a week and they have already started breaking in improving everything. Quality seems really good as well. If I had a negative it would be the buckles for some reason were designed so they open the opposite direction from each other I use them primarily for daily commute and weekend fun rides.. No off road. Overall I am happy with them and look forward to many many miles.. Be safe out there.

Excellent Tough & Stylish Boot
I've had these boots for about a month and feel they are very solid, plus they look great in oiled leather! The height is excellent and although fairly heavy boots, it's comfortable to walk in them too. Still breaking them in and can't speak to the waterproof aspect yet, but wet weather is coming and I have confidence they will work well. Great bang for the buck.

excellence all around
Just back from a 1,200 mile trip including through a flood.
Boots are comfortable, very protective, totally waterproof even riding through 6 inches of water (had rain pants covering the upper boot). warm in cool weather and surprisingly not so hot in summer. Part of my ride was 300 hundred mile day in 95 degree heat. If keep top of boot a little loose air will get down and cool your feet. Great value, perfect for adventure rides and have even walked more than 1/2 mile in the woods with them.
The American sizing is off a solid 1/2 size. I wear 8 1/2 and sometimes 9 and the size 8 fit well. European sizes on lable seem accurate.

Glad i had them
These are my first pair of riding boots, and i am very happy with them. First i want to clarify the low air flow rating i gave them. Technically there is no airlow, i mean they wouldn't be very water proof if they had lots of airflow. Duh. That said, I live in Texas and even when the temperature is in the triple digits my feet are pretty comfortable, so long as i'm also wearing wicking socks. Even after riding for 3 or 4 hours. If you were cotton socks that soak up sweat and it's over 90, then yeah it does get a bit ripe and uncomfortable in there.
And speaking of water proof, I recently did a 4 day ride in the mountains around Gifu and Nagano and I got all the basis as far as weather goes. One day I did 5 hours in constant wetness ranging from rain so hard i almost had to just pull over to simple spray from traffic. I did have on full riding pants with the rain liner over the boots. But my feet stayed nice and comfy the entire time. That same day the temperatures ranged from the upper 80's at the bottom of the mountains, to the mid 50's when i got up around 6000 feet. Again, perfectly comfy feet.
I've had them for not quite a year now I guess and they look almost exactly like they did when i bought them.
There are a couple of ... hmmm, let's go with "less than perfect" things to be aware of about them. First, they are very stiff when new. But given that they are supposed to protect your feet and ankles, that's a good thing. It took me about 4 months to get them broken in and somewhat flexible. But i really only ride for about 4 hours every other weekend or so. My 10 minute commute to work doesn't really count. Second, they are pretty big over your toes. Like Frankenstein shoe big. I had to adjust the shifter on my R1200R a few notches to accommodate them. And in Japan i rode a Yamaha MT-07 (FZ-07 here in the states) and we had to adjust the shifter to the widest it would go and that just barely fit. In fact i don't think the shifter was over the boot so much as just pressed up against the upper portion. But it worked just fine.
Lastly, I have short but wide feet, size 8E in shoes normally, so i ended up with a size 9 in these boots to accommodate my feet width. None of these things are deal killers for me and i would buy these again in a heartbeat.

Perfect for supermoto and dual sport
I owe the community a review. I love these. Perfect for my style of riding which includes on and off-road carving. I have a pair of SG-10s for when I'm riding trails and all-day dirt but these are perfect for touring, supermoto, and back road dual sporting. I don't want to take them off. I don't want to stop riding though either. Nothing but love for these. Size 9 is true for me. For what it is in terms of height I think they are perfect. Have not had them in rain or much water but I could see the short gaiter being a bit of a compromise for gaining agility with a shorter boot.

Bought the Corozals Sz10 returned and got Belize Sz9...
Hey guys if any of you are like me I am extremely particular about my boots. I looked and looked and looked for a pair of boots to replace my Icon Superduty 4s. I ride a V-Strom 650 now so I figured I needed something a little more off road worthy. I first bought the astar corozal boots in a size 10. They fit okay but I had to wear two pairs of socks in order to fit them snuggly without too much room lengthwise. Also those tall boots do not go underneath a pair of normal jeans unless you have bootcut. I winded up getting rid of those and bought a pair of the Belize in a size 9 and I wish I would have done this to start with. The fitment of both boots felt the same to me I just should have gotten a 9 to start with . As far as the boots on the bike they start out extremely stiff but break in within three or four rides and are extremely comfortable to walk around in. I did have to move my shift lever up a notch or two to compensate for the bigger boot toe box. The 9 fits perfectly and they go underneath the pair of normal jeans. For sizing reference I have a pretty large calf and my old icons were size 10. I usually wear a 9.5 to a size 10 in tennis shoes and have a pretty wide foot . My advice would be to go a size down if you're in between sizes. Unless you like that little bit of extra room at the end of your toes. I hope that my review helps some you guys that are on the fence.

Wish they had 1/2 sizes
I am normally 11 1/2 wide and chose to order the 12's. A little loose in the toe box, but the adjustable straps make the fit OK. It is a stiff boot, requiring a modification to working the controls. They seem to have broken in or I lo longer have to think about my shifting.

It is comfortable and gives me greater protection than my prior touring boot.

GREAT boots
Glad I got these boots, they are not cheap but the quality is awesome. I've been buying hiking boots for years, and have noticed a recent general decline in quality and fit (perhaps as Italian companies move manufacturing to other parts of Europe or China), to the point where one needs to spend $300+ on a pair of backpacking boots. Not so with these, the quality seems all there. Got the mid height in brown, they are more comfortable than you'd think. Toe / ball of foot area seems a bit roomier than I'd prefer, especially for feel of shifter (I had to adjust shift lever all the way up), but not a big deal. I usually wear US 11 in boots / shoes, and the 11 fit well length-wise, but was a tad roomy as noted.

It took a little while to break these boots in , still in the process. They wear like a pair of work boots. I even have been wearing them out to dinner . A little hard to get under the gear shifter on my CB 500x but as they get softer, it get better. My only problem was choosing between black or brown.

Is this overkill for a commuter who wants lots of armor protection?
Stephen L on Sep 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I love these as commuter boots. They are comfortable and easy to walk in.
How are these boots size wise? I usually wear 11.5 and on the wider size. Are these true to size?
Martin G on Sep 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have small but wide feet and i had to get one size bigger than i normally would. On the bike it's not noticeable, and probably adds to the comfort for me. But even walking around they don't feel any clunky than any big boot would feel.
What about flexibility and walking around in the Belize boot?
Peter S on Sep 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: These flex very well for a riding boot. They flex much better and more naturally than the Forma Adventure low boots. Also most straight leg pants will fit over them so they don't look that out of place unless you are wearing a suit and tie.
how tall are they?
A shopper on May 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: About the same as a tall hunting or work boot. I have short legs and they come half way up my shins
I wear an EU 45 which translate to US 10.5. However I do not see any 1/2 sizing. In this case, what size do I get? US 11 or 10?
A C on May 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have a pair of size 11. They have a tag inside that says EU 45.5. Hope this helps.
Is this overkill for a commuter who wants lots of armor protection?
A shopper on Sep 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't think you can over do it if you want overkill. I have short legs , so they fit me great. Seems like they would do s good job of protecting your ankle but only come up to the bottom of my calf muscle
How tall are they in inches?
A shopper on Jun 19, 2018
Do these fit under a typical pair of jeans?
SkateCycleLee on May 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Can't speak for all jeans, but these fit under Levis 559's and Rev It Philly 2's without a problem. Anything like a skinny jean will need to be tucked in the boot. Levis 505s are pretty snug and hard to get over the top buckle. but they'll work...
Is there a shorter height for shorter stockier legs?
A shopper on Apr 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: My legs are short, 29" inseam, and my calves are on the bigger side. These fit just fine. LIke others have said, these are the short version. They just come up to the bottom of my calf. But the large velcro are at the top makes them extremely adjustable.
Can the inner footbed be replace? I wear a custom orthotic .
Ted W on May 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have custom orthotics in all my boots!
And they fit great, making the boot fit just that much better!
