This helmet intrigued me from the start since my Corsa helmet has always left me wanting a little more for day to day use. After dabbling with some modular helmets over the last year I was definitely hesitant to buy one, but once I saw this helmet in person I immediately put my reservations aside. It rivals my Corsa in terms of weight which is surprising given the number of creature features it offers.

Comfort, quietness, aesthetic, ventilation, aero, weight, field of view, versatility and convenience are all outstanding on this helmet so it's very hard to write a review that doesn't read like a book. But to pick out a few things that stand out the most I'll start with the visor(s). The addition of detents is one of my favorite things when comparing to the Corsa because it actually keeps the visor open at city speeds. The 2-stage lock is awesome because I know the visor won't eject if I ever have to crash test this thing. The visor is super easy to remove and the included 120 Pinlock is very reassuring to have. The ventilation is crazy (good) and the reversible pad is definitely going to make this my go-to summer helmet. I have been leaving the earplugs at home since getting this to enjoy how quiet it actually is.

The helmet is not perfect, however. The internal sun visor is my biggest gripe because it's hardly tinted and useless when the sun is low. I'm not sure if AGV will offer darker tint options for the internal visor or if I'll have to get a smoked external one but I definitely need more tint. Also, I don't find it to go low enough to get the bottom edge out of my field of view. The chin curtain tends to ride up when I lower the chinbar which means I have to try and get a finger in there to settle everything into place which is inconvenient. My other complaint is when the chinbar is up the helmet gives my face a fat, squishy look. Definitely not instagram selfie time. Not sure if AGV is to blame or if that one is on me...

Ultimately, the helmet is well worth it and the price isn't anything to complain about because 1) a safe helmet is invaluable, 2) this thing is premium through and through, 3) no other modular helmet comes close to this one.

Nice style. But, cheaply made.
I've had my sport modular for several months and wear it daily for commuting. I also have a Schuberth C3 Pro that is, to my mind, a better overall helmet despite being slightly heavier.

Noise: not as quiet as the marketing says; C3 Pro is much quieter. I always wear earplugs with the Sport Modular. Only rarely needed w/C3 Pro.

Fit & comfort: Fit & comfort are highly subjective. That said, I think the C3 Pro is more comfortable despite being slightly heavier because of superior construction/materials used inside the helmet. The Sport Modular _feels_ cheap inside. Three years of daily use on the C3 Pro and none of the reflective stripes on the bottom have faded/worn off. The reflective stripes on underside of the Sport Modular show serious wear from the collar of my Klim suite after just a couple months. That's kind of lame.

Chin strap: Works for me but I could see how it would be a huge problem if my head as slightly longer.

Visor: The internal visor mechanism feels cheap and rough compared with the C3 Pro. I am very careful when raising lowering the internal visor as I do not trust that it's sturdy enough. I never think twice about this on the C3 Pro. The internal visor itself is not very dark and provides insufficient glare protection for riding in intense sunlight. Unfortunately, AGV has not yet released coloured / tinted outer pin-lock visors compatible with this particular line of helmets. They said May. But it's now July and still no option other than wearing sunglasses under the helmet is available. This is very annoying. No - other AGV visors are not compatible.

Style: Looks very cool. Everyone comments on it. But, all things considered that's not good enough for the $$$.

Light weight but cheaply made inside... returning.
Bought the AGV Sport modular at the Chicago motorcycle show a month ago thru the sister company Cyclegear. With the show discount it was a hell of a deal at $600 and I really tried to like it and keep it but couldn't do it at that price level.
The inside was very cheaply made and loose vs Shoei Neotec, Neotec 2 and Schuberth C3 Pro.
Also, the thing that annoyed me was the shield locking mechanism, when you open the visor, the metal square piece that locks the visor is too low. Even when fully opened, you can see it right in front of you. Also, the sun visor slider to open/close it is in a weird spot vs the others. Chin strap was a bit annoying as well, not sure what it was.
Otherwise the carbon fiber looks cool and is very light but not lighter than the C3 Pro or very minimal difference.
Overall, great helmet but not worth the $600-800 price tag.

What comm system will it have?
A shopper on Jan 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It can be used with most 3rd party systems. No comm unit is made specifically for this helmet at this time.
is this helmet for racers only or for harley riders as well?
A shopper on Jun 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It is for motorcycle riders. I don't think modular helmets are allowed for racing, but I'm no expert.
