Just how comfortable and car-like are UTV workhorses getting these days? Thanks to Can-Am, you can now get automatic climate control.
Can-Am released its 2022 off-road lineup in August but this week the company dropped some new luxury upgrades for their workhorse Defender line, including an industry-first automatic climate control. Luxury cars have offered climate control for decades but the Can-Am will be the only UTV that lets the driver set a specific temperature and the vehicle takes care of heating and cooling the cab.
Can-Am offers the new climate control in just two models initially. The Defender MAX Lone Star CAB starts at $33,199 and is the only four-door option. It also receives power windows up front but backseat passengers tough it out with window cranks. The Defender 6x6 Limited is a little more affordable with a base price of $30,399. The six-wheeler receives the new climate control, as well, for when you want to pull 3,000 pounds across a moonscape but don’t want to be bothered with adjusting HVAC knobs as the weather shifts.
Both models sport new color-matched hard doors from the factory and Can-Am claims they provide a better seal to keep the weather out and the interior comfortable. The new doors will be available for all new Defenders with Limited or CAB trim and as a catalog-ordered accessory.
