Sargent World Sport Performance Seat Suzuki DL650 / DL1000
A huge improvement over stock!
I got the seat just before a trip from AZ to NM. It snapped right on and I threw some med-kit stuff in the included storage cylinder. I would say break-in took about two hours before I noticed a difference. At the end of the trip I wasn't walking funny or swollen. A noticeable improvement!

Bought this seat prior to last year's (2014) annual ride. I put on about 4,600 miles and rode 8-12 hours each day. This seat made a huge difference during my ride and I was so much more comfortable than the stock seat.
I had also made updates to the location of the handlebars by using a riser back set. The two together were instrumental in creating the perfect ride for me.

Easy to install, different pressure points than stock, 15 minute increase in ride time.
Everyone has a different shape which makes trying different seats an expensive guessing game. I am 6'4" @ 250, 36" inseam. Seat went on easy, fit to tank not the best. Seat does not have middle clipping hooks on pan underneath which might count for some of the wiggle in the rear section. Seat is better than original but very disappointed with only small increase in comfort verses dollars spent. Item taken on test drive so it does not qualify for the return policy. I am less than impressed with my experience based on all the good reviews Sargent seats have by others.

Way better then stock DL1000 seat
While my high dollar "custom" fit seat is off for it's third fitting round, I needed a seat for a trip. Frankly I went with Sargent over Corbin because Revzilla carried it, so I knew returning it would be no hassle. The seat seems very well made, though the front does not lay down flush against the tank; a minor aesthetic issue. I just took it on a three day 1300+ mile ride, no back side issues at all (the stock seat would have been a disaster). Had I started with this seat I doubt I would have spent the money for the previously mentioned "custom" seat.

What an amazing difference!
A year prior to buying this seat I road from Tucson to Ouray, Co and ended up putting about 1,000 miles on my stock seat in 2 days. Within the first 150 miles I found myself shifting my position constantly for the remaining 850 miles never finding a comfortable sitting position and truly felt like my vstrom wasn't the long range bike I thought it would be. Not giving up on it I pursued a new seat and read several reviews. My criteria:
Long range comfort
Single rider position
Addition support over more surface area
Price to performance ratio
Not willing to send my stock seat out for custom rebuilding
It did not take many miles on my last trip back to Ouray through Moab and Canyonlands to understand how critical seat comfort was to enjoying the ride. This seat was so a,amazingly comfortable I rode extensive hours (up to 10/leg) without needing to rest.
I am 6' @ 180 lbs which might be a sweet spot for this seat as it fit me like my favorite pair of perfectly comfortable jeans that I have worn for years. They truly made you feel like you were floating on air.
I would highly recommend this seat over stock. I can't compare to other manufacturers as I didn't try them but this was a trip saver for me! It might have even saved my bike from being replaced.
BTW- I cannot rate durability as it is only 1 month new. I am sure it will be very durable over many many miles.

Sargent has this old Sergeant riding longer
After long days in the saddle on the original DL1000 seat I would have shooting pain in my back. I modified the seat and it bought me a little more time in the seat. I wanted more, as in all day. I haven't taken an all day ride on the seat yet but the few two hour rides I've taken in the twisties have me thinking it's not going to be a problem. On the old seat, after about a half hour I'm standing to relieve pressure. Now, I don't even think about it and when I get home, all I can think about is how much fun the ride was, not about the sore spots and tingling nerves in my legs. Love it so far. Taking a ride to Reno this weekend, we'll see how it goes.

Huge upgrade from stock
I'm 5'8", 140lbs, 31.5" inseam, and was unimpressed with the stock seat on the DL1000 after an hour or so. This seat made a huge difference. It's way more comfortable, perhaps a tad shorter when putting my feet down, and wider in the back.

A vast improvement over the factory seat.
In the last year or two, riding for more than 15-20 minutes had become painful due to groin pressure from the stock '09 VStrom seat. For reference I am 5'8" 155 lbs age 55 and I commute daily on 30 miles of bad gravelly road and highway. At first the Sargent seat felt odd, a little taller but after a few dozen stops I got used to it. After a couple of 1 hour rides, no discomfort at all! What an amazing difference. I may need to raise and bring back the bars. Thanks to salesman and VStrom rider Jason for your help in picking the right seat. No rating for durability yet because It is only a week old.
