Sargent World Sport Performance Seat Suzuki SV650 / SV650S / SV1000 / SV1000S

Continuing in the tradition of meticulously designed seating options, Sargent is pleased to offer the Sargent World Sport Performance Seat.

Utilizing advanced digital modeling, computer design techniques, precise manufacturing processes and superior materials, each World Sport seat pan is precision-molded for superior fit and outfitted with high-quality hardware. Also featuring Sargent’s signature vacuum-formed PVC acrylic alloy seat pan, this super tough, lightweight material provides an exceptional high-performance seat foundation.

Gel-Free! Each Sargent World Performance seat offers superior comfort and suspension without the thermal retention and extra weight of gel. The Super Cell Atomic Foam suspension is a unique and proprietary blend of resilience, firmness, and vibration-absorption qualities. Most stock seats suffer from a crowned shape that centralizes pressure and creates discomfort. The level, wider and slightly cupped foam shape of the Sargent World Sport Seat distributes pressure evenly and eliminates hot spots for incredible long-distance comfort.

All Sport Performance Seat features marine-grade, UV-stabilized, color-coordinated upholstery - hand sewn specifically to maximize the qualities of the Super Cell Atomic Foam.

Features:

  • Widened PVC seat pan for more lateral support
  • CarbonFX vinyl
  • Super Cell Atomic Foam for improved riding comfort
  • Eliminates forward slope and provides a more neutral seating angle for the driver
  • Includes DIY passenger seat cover (Cover only. Actual replacement passenger seat not included)

Best upgrade for my SV so far
As most riders know, the SV-650 stock seat isn't very comfy after about an hour on the bike. I researched options through word of mouth and message boards. Through these avenues, it seemed the consensus was with Corbin, Suzuki gel seat, and Sargent.
I decided to go with Sargent because I read that it lowered ride height less so than the Corbin, and that the gel seat got really hot while left in the sun.

My experience so far has been great. At first I was skeptical, and thought the seat lowered ride height. I put the original back on, and I think the Sargent actually is about the same height.

As far as comfort, I immediately felt the difference. The firmness is there, and after a few hundred miles, your rear actually gets used to it quite well. I can now ride for hours and not have to stop and rest my butt, or squirm and look awkward trying to find a better position.

Totally recommend this seat. It's pricey, but I feel it is worth it if you plan on any kind of day trips or touring on the SV.

So ... much .... better!
Yeah, it's a few hundred dollars, but it's soooo much better than the stock seat on my '08 SV650. The stock seat was fine for commuting 20 miles, but after that got a little painful.

The key here is that the seat isn't tapered on the sides. It's much wider, which interestingly made both the ride far more comfortable and it also made turning much easier. The one thing that I immediately noticed (besides the comfort) was that I was sitting further back and not right up against the tank. This is good, but it also meant I had to reach a little further forward. I know, it's an SV and I'll get used to it.

The height is about the same as the stock seat and the seat itself is very easy to install. The only thing is that it doesn't come with a passenger seat, only the cover. This is fine, but you just have to plan an extra half hour to take off the stock cover and staple on the new one.

Overall, very happy so far. If price is the only consideration, just do it. You'll be much happier.

Worth.Every.Penny.
My husband has this seat on his SV. After about 100 miles on our ride today, we switched bikes. It was like riding on a cloud. It was as if angels were gently massaging my sore butt cheeks. I ordered this the minute we arrived home.

Very comfortable and better seating position than stock
The stock seat would cause me to have to re-adjust all the time because I would slide forward into the tank and was not comfortable after an hour. This seat doesn't do that because it dips down in the middle and is flat so it spreads the weight much better. The seat makes it much easier to swivel around or to learn off. It fits perfectly and hugs the tank better than the stock seat.

Would buy again
Last year I took my SV650 (n) on a 1,300 mile round trip and found out first hand what folks were saying about the stock seat being uncomfortable.

My experience with the stock seat is that it's comfortable for about 20 minutes, at which point shifting your weight buys you another 10 minutes or so of comfort. Around 40 minutes to an hour though, there's no comfortable position left and even stopping to walk around is only a temporary help.

Comparing that to the Sargent seat, I find that I can ride for about 40 minutes before I start noticing my rear end falling asleep. Shifting my weight fixes this for another 40 minutes, and as soon as I stop to walk around there's no lingering discomfort.

After reading the reviews I built my expectations up to thinking this seat would allow me to ride all day in comfort. I'm slightly let down by the fact that this isn't quite true (especially considering the price tag) but I do believe it's the best option out there for the SV.

Installation was a piece of cake, and the finish is very nice. I can't speak to durability too much (had the seat for ~2 months) but I believe it will last based on the apparent quality.

Great seat.
This seat will lower you almost an inch, but in doing so it really prevents you from getting your crotch smooshed against the tank with every bump in the road. The foam in it does conform and is quite comfortable. A must have for any stock seat riding SV650 owner.

As advertised much more comfort for much longer. No more hot spots and now the sv650 doesn't smash my junk into the tank on decel
As advertised. Great product ,easy install. My sv650 would be uncomfortable after about an hour and unbearable after and hour and a half. I don't know how long I can go on the sergeant because I just haven't hit its limit yet. Looks good fit perfect.

Much More Comfortable
I was considering a Corbin but I am really happy with the Sargent seat. I ordered it with the black piping and it really looks great, and a whole lot cheaper than the Corbin. More importantly, unlike the stock seat which seemed to encourage sliding forward toward the tank, the Sargent is flater near the back of the seat. I am looking forward to testing it on a long ride. As a side note I also ordered the rear cover to match the pilot set and the installation was easy as long as you have a power stapler. As always Revzilla is awesome in terms of quick shipping and customer service.

Sargent's site lists the welt being available in black or metallic. The photo here seems to show white welting, with no options given. What colors do you guys have available for the welting?
A shopper on Apr 28, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The welting on the Sargent Seat Suzuki SV650/ 1000 04-09 that RevZilla carries is only available in black. The image shown is the only image available from the manufacturer.
Will this aftermarket seat raise or lower the overall seat height compared to the stock seat?
Eric H on Feb 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I bought this seat for my 2007 SV650N, I did not notice a notable difference in height, if anything a touch shorter.

The seat certainly improved the comfort of the bike, I also use an airhawk pillion seat cover with the Sargent seat when going long distances. Biggest difference is Sargent takes the body weight from leaning forward into the tank (stock seat) to a more comfortable upright position. HIGHLY recommend! I used to be quite sore after half hour on the bike, with Sargent can now go several hours without airhawk, and all day with.

This may change between female (myself) and male riding seated style.
As stated this will fit Suzuki SV650/1000 04-09, my question is do you also mean SV1000S which is the faired model?
JIMMY R on Jan 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I bought this seat for my 2005 SV1000S, it fit perfectly and was a big improvement in comfort over the stock seat. The passenger seat remains stock, only the rider's seat is replaced by Sargent. A cover for the passenger seat was included in the box from Sargent but I did not use it.
I was looking at the seat and in the description it describes "Seats" and im wanting to know if I purchase this if it will come with the back seat too.
A shopper on Dec 10, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Your purchase does NOT come with the pillion seat. This is the rider's seat, not passenger's. It does come with a pillion seat cover (so they match in appearance).
How is the durability of the Sargent seat? Specifically for a bike that gets left outside in the hot Florida sun & rain year round?
Zachary W on Sep 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's been very durable - my husband has had his for 10 years, but keep in mind the bike had been housed in a garage most of that time, when not riding. I'm not sure too many products are going to last that long out in the Florida sun and rain.
