Sargent Seat VFR800 02+
Quality product but some ergonomic concerns
I bought this seat to help with long bike rides as the stock seat is very thin and not supportive. The Sargent seat is a very good and high quality product. The concerns that I have are about ergonomics. The comfort of the seat is spot on, but due to either the material, additional seat height and slight angle of the seat, it forces your crotch into the tank. When I squeeze the tank with my legs/knees then I slide forward on the seat until I contact the tank. I have tried with several different pant material and it still happens. Even if you are barely squeezing the tank with your legs, any bumps in the road will make you slide on the seat. I believe that it has to do with the extra height this seat gives plus the angle of the seat. I am tempted to put the stock seat back on....

Changed the comfort level of my bike!
I wish I had gotten this seat sooner! It makes my vfr800 way more comfortable. I no longer slide up on the tank of the bike making an unhappy crotch! No break in time at all! Highly recommended!

This is one comfy seat
Installation was a breeze. Cowl was snug, it's suppose to be, but slipped on easily. Immediately upon sitting on this seat - why had I waited so long to get it. It is so comfortable. Firm, but not hard.Absorbs what little vibration the bike has. Can't wait to do an all-dayer on it. No slipping onto the tank. Awesome seat !

Your butt will thank you!
Worth every penny! I could only go about 200 kilometers on the stock seat on my VFR 800 before getting uncomfortable. I did over 400 kilometers on my first ride on the Sargent seat, and I was ready to keep on going! This seat definitely lives up to its billing, and Revzilla has the best price I could find.

Having owned this for a few months now I am very pleased with the comfort. I have been mostly commuting and haven't done any long trips yet, but I can certainly feel the difference from the stock seat. One thing I especially noticed is that it is somewhat wider as it meets the tank. I personally like this as it keeps me from sliding forward on hard braking. I am now looking forward to the 500 mile plus trips.

Had this Sargent seat on my 2004 VFR800.
The seat fit and looked great and is softer than the Corbin. Unlike the heavier Corbin, the light Sargent also has no break-in period to speak of. Comfort is better than stock and makes 200-300 miles quite a bit more comfy. Make no mistake this is not a Russell Day Long seat nor does it make the VFR into a Goldwing! With the Heli bar risers and Sargent seat the VFR was pretty comfy for my 6'1", 34" inseam size. However, the cramped knee bend on the VFR is what hurt worse after 200 miles than my butt on the Sargent. Ultimately, I prefer my V-Strom over the VFR due to spaciousness

Very well made
Just got the seat yesterday. Typical great customer service and fast shipping.
Unboxed and examined the seat and it looks very well made. Seems a few pounds heavier than my stock saddle. that's of no consequence to me. The seat pan seems better built than my stock pan. don't know what to do with the tiny storage compartment. Maybe my owner's manual and registration and insurance. Yeah, that's the ticket.
Rode to work today on the new saddle. Seems a tad taller/wider. Actually felt warm against my butt and inner thighs.
Foam built up in the front so that there is very little forward lean, very nicely done. It doesn't force me to sit back, nor crowd the tank. Nor does it make it difficult to change positions and hold positions. Very nice.
Cover material is tacky against the pants, holding you in place pretty well. Stock seat was slick and I always ended up balls to the wall, so to speak.
Foam is firm, yet is makes the ride seem more cushy. It actually dampens the vibrations transmitted to the rider. It was noticeable immediately. I hope it holds up like that.
It was actually kind of fatiguing on the ride to work as I tried to find comfortable positions to sit. I found myself leaning on my wrists a lot, but on the ride home I started finding sweet spots and the fatigue issue was not present. I am sure it's a matter of break in as it was with the stock seat, which I have to say was all day comfy for me. I just got tired of sliding forward.
Overall excellent marks for this brand. Glad I bought it and look forward to breaking it in properly in the next few weeks (I ride daily, it shouldn't take long). I also look forward to the first 300 mile day on it.
Best price on the net for this seat right here at Revzilla. Thanks for the support and great service guys! Customer for life! (next on my laundry list is new rain gear...lol!)
