2026 Honda WN7 first look: Big Red’s first-ever electric motorcycle

Honda has unveiled its very first electric motorcycle. Well, sort of.

Based on the EV FUN concept that debuted at EICMA 2024, the WN7 is the first fully electric production model from the Japanese OEM. Honda may have revealed the e-roadster’s range, charging estimates, and availability, but key details remain a mystery. Let me explain.

Big Red was quick to point out the WN7’s fixed lithium-ion battery, which recharges from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes with “automotive-grade” CCS2 rapid charging. When connected to a 6kVA at-home wall box, the power pack charges from 0% to 100% in under three hours. While Honda was brave enough to disclose the battery’s 130 km (82 miles) range, it fails to list the unit's overall capacity (kWh). Estimates for Level1/wall charging also go unmentioned. The selective specifications aren’t limited to the battery, either.

Powering the WN7 is a water-cooled 18kW motor. The brand compares the unit’s 73.8 foot-pounds of torque to that of a liter bike, but only asserts that peak horsepower is similar to “a 600 cc internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycle.” Talk about ambiguous. It could use every bit of available performance, too, with the WN weighing more than most 1,000 cc bikes at 217 kg (478 pounds).

More important than any spec is the fact that Honda only announced the electric naked bike for European markets. Slated for production in late 2025, the WN7 will arrive in Euro dealerships by early 2026. Honda hasn't stated whether the model will ship to U.S. shores or not.

As a point of reference, the WN starts at £12,999 in the U.K. Because of taxes and other differences, European prices are different from U.S. MSRPs, but a straight exchange calculation would put the middleweight electric at nearly $18,000. Honda photo.

Honda has drip-fed us WN7 details over the last few months, but it says the model’s full technical specifications will be available at EICMA 2025. In the meantime, European customers so inclined can submit WN7 pre-orders through their local Honda dealership.
