Although you have to purchase the shield and lens separate, it does not fog up at all. I have the Shoei Quest and that helmet is very quiet but fogs the stock face shield really quick. even at 80 degrees and the breath guard on the helmet it fogged really quickly. I decided to purchase the shield and lens upgrade due to good feedback and I absolutely love it.

I put the pinlock lens system on my Shoei Qwest and it performed exactly as expected to keep my visor fog free when riding in cold and damp conditions.
It was very easy to attach the lens to the CW-1 pinlock face shield (sold separately)and I never had to think about it again. It just worked. At the end of a ride I could wipe moisture away from inside of the visor in the area outside of the pinlock lens but the lens itself always stayed nice and clear even at long traffic lights with the visor in the fully locked position.

I bought the lens and it couldn't be easier to install on the shield. It literally takes seconds to install and truly stops fogging. You can't go wrong with this system.

These things really work to eliminate shield fog. It's not just a piece of plastic that snaps to the shield. It's has some special material composition that keeps it from fogging no matter what. Also, it fits really snug against the visor with a soft silicone-like seal. Very nicely paired with the visor.
The main downside is that the optics have some problems at night. Note, however, that it clearly states that this product should not be used at night. But my shield still gets foggy at night, so I keep using it. What happens is that lights (i.e., headlights) get a star pattern. It's a subtle effect, but the optics are affected a little bit.
Bottom line: it's a great product, just be extra careful if you use it at night.

This is the best anti-fog product I have used for my face shield to date. However, this is a replacement insert. When raising the helmet face shield using the thumb "tab" at the lower left corner, the face shield torques the entire face shield on an angle a little bit, causing the insert to break its seal and fog up. Extra care and concious thought has to be taken when raising and lowering the face shield with the insert is in place or fogging WILL occur in cold weather, and it cannot clear without removing the insert and wiping it and the faceshield dry. It's still a great system to reduce fogging.

I bought a pinlock shield and a clear pinlock lens for night time and a dark smoke lens for sunny days for my XL Shoei Qwest. The lens covers almost the entire opening (~95%) of the helmet and there are only very small areas at the sides that aren't covered. It was important to me to get a tinted lens that covered the entire field of vision so that no distracting sunlight would penetrate the helmet around the lens and this lens works very well with my Shoei Qwest to do that. There has been absolutely no fogging even riding in 33 degree F weather so the visibility is great.
