Joe Rocket Super Ego Leather Jacket
Super Ego review
I'm 5'10" 195 with an athletic build and I ordered a large to fit. At first the jacket fit so closely that it threw me off a bit......its a fitted jacket in comparison to most which leaves one to say whats comfortable.....pros are you feel very well protected in it in case of the worse.....besides compliments, you feel it looks good on you which is important to me....it has a great feature for the summer which unzips 1/2 to 3/4 of the leather off completely for the best feeling in the heat. It is very well made. strong.........cons are its heavy.....stiff.....bit of a chore to unzip the leather off but no big deal......there is only room for 1 long sleeve shirt underneath in the winter....you have several sets of snap buttons for the arms which can feel a bit awkward even uncomfortable when you bend your arm......
Ive used this jacket for 3 months before I wrote a review.....overall.....I would definitely buy this jacket again even though I know I will never need to......and for those considering this jacket, you wont be disappointed. If your looking for a strong jacket to last and the durability to hold up through the years, I would put my effort and money to this jacket.

It's been a long time since I wore Joe Rocket gear on a regular basis. I'm a pretty avid rider and, at some point in my life, did the calculus to determine that it's better to spend some really big coin on high quality gear once and then keep it for a long time. Whether that is a pair of custom race leathers for the track or BMW licensed gear (wore my Sahara for almost two decades), I just haven't been in the market for Joe Rocket gear, for quite some time.
Anyway, took a big sabbatical from work and did >20K miles of riding March-August of this year. Serious runs to Austin GP, through Arkansas, Colorado and a couple of months straight in the Northwest, Canada and an Alaska adventure.
From May-August, I had to pack light, so only had this jacket and, when required, rain gear as my outer layers. That's a temperature range of 41-110, a couple of days of driving rain in Yukon Territory at <50 degrees to multiple days of 95+ heat (and fires) in Oregon, Idaho and Montana. And, to be fair, I was fairly concerned that what I considered a "value buy" would turn out to be a mistake. Thankfully, those concerns were completely unfounded. The jacket and each component thereof, performed flawlessly.
Is it a bit of a hassle to zip on the leather? Sure, but that's whining. Zippers rocked. Really comfortable. Looks good without going over the top and provides decent protective pads, etc. Absolutely zero problems with it and I'm pretty sure I can milk it well into the Georgia "winter".
My advice? If you have the means and a mind set on spending a lot more money; save it and give this jacket a go. They did a really nice job with it and it seems to be wearing well. BTW, sizing was spot on (I'm 5'7" 175 and got a large that does the trick.) Great value!

This is a great jacket.
I've had another Joe Rocket jacket (the Phoenix) for about 15 years, and it has has been great. I wanted a leather jacket, and the Super Ego's combination of leather style with huge mesh panels made this jacket look very appealing. It has a perfect combination of style and comfort in hot weather. The fit is perfect for me (6' 2" / 195#).

A little stiff with the back foam but overall a nice jacket.

Overall good quality jacket for the price
The venting and ability to convert from a full leather jacket to a mesh jacket was a big selling point. Fit and finish is good.

I purchased the super ego back in march 2014 and chose to upgrade all the armor, shoulders, elbow and back. I used Joe rocket elbow and should pads and chose SAS-Tec for the back. About an extra 150 in upgrades. The versatility of the jacket is great. When it is cold say spring and fall you have full leather and in the hot summer you have a full mess jacket with all the protection.
I did lay my bike down on an exit ramp, I was going about 25-30 MPH. I landed on my left shoulder and suffered a collar bone break. This is actually good news, without the jacket and armor I would have tour up my rotator cuff and had more serious damage done to my arm.
After the accident there was minimum damage to the jacket. You can tell wear I hit (soft spot) and 2 zippers and a clasp were damaged. I had both repaired at a leather shop for about $80 (it was a large zipper). The jacket is still very much wearable.
Yes I would recommend this jacket to anyone but defiantly add the upgrade armor to the jacket.

I like it. This is my first high dollar item. I live in middle Georgia and the weather has been really crazy. Just started getting warmer. The full leather "mode" isn't tight at all. I wear a 2x and it fits me nicely. It's American cut so u should be able to get the same size as the shirt you wear. The only gripe I have about the jacket is that it's short without the leather. But still enough airflow. I wear my cut over the mesh "mode" in 83 degree weather and was still cool while riding. But during the 40 degree weather in full leather mode and I didn't feel any cold so I was gooooood. If u can afford the jacket, get it. You won't be upset you did.

Best jacket for this money!
It's really excellent jacket, for this money it is hard to find a better.
High-quality leather, perfect air-flow system, jacket has plastic protection, which is stronger than I expected.
To my mind, it will be look great on bobber style, cafe racer style or any cruise motorcycle.
Be sure that you will not be disappointed of purchasing this jacket.
Thanks Revzilla team, hope to do business with you again!
