I bought this jacket as a warm weather, potential track jacket (has 3/4 zipper for race pants). Looking around I had a real interest in a high profile, high end jacket like this vector. The thing that drove me to actually purchase this jacket was the price point. RevZilla never, and I mean never allows anyone else to have the lower price. The current price tag of $399 of this fine piece was almost $100 less than any other retailer in the US.
Now, on to the actually details of the jacket itself. The jacket is heavy, it weighs in at 8 lbs. Even though it is heavy, you stay very cool in it as long as your are MOVING. This thing flows massive amounts of air thanks to the shoulder air inlets and the spacious race hump on the back. Couple that with the leather perforation and you have yourself a full leather jacket that is suitable for summer riding. The jacket also comes with a thermal liner vest that does a decent job of keeping your central core warm. The liner is only a vest and does not extend down the arms, so remember that in when colder weather rolls around.
One of the only draws backs on this jacket for me was the craftsmanship. Don't get me wrong the actually stitching for the arms and armor inserts is great. However, when you have had the jacket for 2 weeks and the 3 out of the 4 logs, that were stitched on mind you, start to peel off, you have to wonder; was this the right purchase? Is this jacket going to hold up?
Protection is top notch in this jacket. I feel very well protected. All armor for this jacket is internal except for the shoulder. The Shoulder armor is placed on the exterior giving greater mobility. Alpinestars sells the optional spine and chest protectors that I may consider picking up if I deem this to be my new track jacket.
All in all, this jacket is a great buy at $399. However, if you only have the option for purchasing at the original $500+ price point, I would advise you to pass and think of a different option.

Bought my first A-star jacket from Revzilla. I'm 5 foot 6, 175 lbs, stocky build and bought a Euro 50. What a great fit, the leather was nice and supple like Dainese are renowned for. was a little cautious at first due to the pin striping on the front but when i got the jacket it actually looks pretty good. great protection and very comfortable works very well at speed. would recommend to anyone doing serious riding.

First off im 5'5" ft. tall and i weigh 140lb. i bought a size 36/46. I bought this jacket because i wanted something a little more protective as well as perforated for my canyon riding than my older B52 jacket. First off let me say the leather on this jacket is super soft. Will require very little break in. Snug but free flowing fit. The stretch panels on top of the arms feel like butter against the skin with little to no binding/bunching. The shoulder sliders surprised me on how much air the channeled, they really do work! The vented hump also helps with managing air flow especially during tucked moments. I wore this jacket yesterday (8/23/11) for the first time on a canyon run and man it felt nice!!! Comfortable, protective, moves with you, and looks good to boot. I was riding in 90* f. weather and was comfortable. This jacket is more of a track ready piece so it does have a race fit/pre-curve, but during normal i did not find it a problem. All of my experiences are with the liner removed. I did initially try on the jacket with the liner and while it does snug the fit a little, it does not hinder motion. I like having the option of a removable liner, extends the temperature ranges.
All in all I give this jacket an A+. If your more of an aggressive street rider and have been looking for something protective as well as functional than i would jump right in and get one!

My chest measure 46 to 48 inches depending on time of the year and how hard i work out. Dainese Racing and Rev'it Phoenix fit me perfectly in Size 46US/56EU. What would be a suggested size in this jacket. Thanks!
