love the helmet
purchased a replacement mirrored visor, a bit spendy compared to some other brands but the helmet fits so great it is well worth the price for a quality visor
the mirrored one works so much better than the clear or smoke visors I have

Good Stuff!
I bought two replacement shields for my Scorpion EXO-900 Modular Helmet, a smoked one and a mirrored one. They both have about the same amount of tint, the mirrored has the advantage of being reflective. I have to say that the scratch resistance is superb. I use my helmet offroad and it gets filthy, yet the shield remains unscratched, except where it fell off a table (hence the replacements.

darker tint than expected
I knew there was some tint to this visor, but it is actually a lot darker than I thought it would be. The picture here doesn't do it justice. If you have the EXO-900, put the included sun visor down; it's about that dark (if not a little darker). Careful riding with this as the sun goes down.
That said, it looks phenomenal. I've received plenty of compliments from the visor/helmet combo. Also, the tint for morning, noon and afternoon riding is just about right. I rarely need to drop the inner sun visor.

Exceptional & Innovative Offering
I got this helmet on the advice of my Nephew who has owned or used a dozen or so Helmets. He was right on. The flexibility of being able to remove teh front chin piece and face shield quickly and easily to covert to a 3/4 is fantastic here in Texas. Even with the full face shield , it move good air via the top, chin and "relief" vents. I agree with the reviews that the rear vent should be permanently open however. The dents on the face shield are a nice touch. I found it to be a bit snug on my cheek bones but with the pump, it should fit a wide variety of face types. It is "wearing in" very nicely and gets more comfortable with each mile ridden. Great Style, Function, and Value!!!!

Blue Shield is Awesome
The Blue EC is a mirrored shield that looks blue-ish to anyone looking at you. I was worried that everything I look at would be blue, but that is NOT the case. All the rider sees is a darker version of everything viewable - in other words, it's like wearing regular sunglasses. It is nearly impossible for anyone to see your eyes/ face with this shield on so if you like to stare into cars around you then this is your shield. A mirrored/ colored shield, like this one, makes your helmet look 10x cooler AND it will help you stay cooler than the standard pull-down visor that is on the EXO-900. Therefore, I definitely recommend this product, especially if you have a blue bike! Also, check out the pic I posted and you'll see it's not as blue as you might think.

The Blue EC faceshield is the equivalent of a Medium to Dark Smoke tint, and is therefore not recommend to be worn at night or in low light situations.7 months ago

I know that Shoei shields and Bell shields block UV-rays, and was pretty certain that Scorpion did as well. That kind of coating is pretty much an industry standard. If the clear shield is not giving you much protection, then I would definitely switch to a tinted shield. Even with UV protection, you'll still end up tanning/burning with too much exposure. I know I always get interesting sun lines around where my sunglasses go!Age: 25-34
