Received my Rev'it Tarmac a little over a week ago and have worn it every day since it arrived. This jacket is the replacement for my old mesh summer jacket. I chose it for the fact that it is leather, it affords excellent protection, it received good reviews and it looks great. I am 5'7" and about 165lbs. I normally wear a 40 regular or short suit jacket and this 50 fits absolutely perfect with the Knox TP2 back protector in it. The surprising thing is how much air flow this thing gets. I highly recommend.

Fits perfect. The air flow is decent, a lot better than what I was expecting from leather with this level of protection. The water bag pocket in the sport hump is an added bonus, being in Florida I've already used it multiple times on my hour commute to work. Not the cheapest but you couldn't ask for more protection at this price level.

After wearing the RevIt! Ignition Jacket (Mesh/Leather) and Gear Pants for the season, I was sold on the RevIt! brand, it's detail and design/build quality, and how versatile they are. I was in the market for a race suit but these Tarmac jacket and pants offer similar protection yet wasn't over the top to allow for some street duty as well. The speed hump isn't "gawk-at-me huge what's wrong with that guy", and being mostly black you won't feel like a squid who sold his soul to advertisors and sponsors when you walk into the pub.
I already know what size I needed and that's another good thing about RevIt! - there's lots of choices, including length with the pants. I had to try on two sizes of each but it was WELL worth it. Perfect fit!
This is a great outfit that works well on both the street and the track. Just do it.

Fit is slightly but just slightly small. I'm a small 37.5 chest (5 foot 6 inches, 145 lbs) so I purchased a 48 (38 US). I tried sizing up one size and it was waaaaay to big. My advice is just stick to the measurement chart and only size up if you're right on the edge or in between two sizes.
I also have the knox back protector loaded in and the fit is still very good. The Tarmac packs out quite a bit, like any jacket, so don't size up if it feels a little tight at first.
The armor that comes standard in the Tarmac is very good. Nothing at this price level compares.
In terms of look, definitely the most stealth and unbranded leather race jacket I've seen. Everything else is very logo'd up and to flashy for my personal taste. The Tarmac has more of that Batman/Mad Max feel.

Just got my Revit tarmac in size 52. I'm 6ft 170. Fits like a glove. Outstanding quality. Worth every penny. Wore it today in 90deg humid south FL and flowed tons of air. No problems. Its so comfortable and feels so protective. The leather is of such high quality, the stitching and fit are amazing. You can tell this is a $600 jacket. I'm a total Revit fan now. What other jacket will give you dual comp elbo and shoulder protection with external sliders!!. BEST JACKET EVER.

The REV'IT Tarmac leather jacket falls nothing short of awesome. REV'IT has catered to the American market with this blacked out, fully perforated version of its European sibling. The coat looks really good, and fast, like you could get a speeding ticket in a parking lot just wearing it.
The size 50 fits true to size and covers my skin really well. I appreciate the European cut as I am 6'2" and weigh 155lbs. The cut on the sleeves would not be long enough for me if they were any shorter. I have installed the Knox TP2 Advance X CE Back Protector that the jacket accepts and find the fit in the chest to still be very comfortable. There is enough room to fit a base layer for colder rides.
The quality of the stitch, zipper, and textiles are outstanding. The leather is very good and well treated. You just might catch yourself sniffing the jacket from time to time.
The breathability of the jacket is outstanding albeit its bovine origin. Traffic lights are tolerable, and while moving, you will appreciate how much air flow you receive. The two zippered air flow panels on the sides I find superfluous; there is no noticeable difference open or closed. The jacket is somewhat minimalist as there are two external side pockets large enough for keys and a cell phone, and one internal zippered pocket for a wallet. So I feel that REV’IT could have done without the zippered vents; they only add a little girth on the sides. Though it’s not bothersome, I find this to be the only gripe I have about the design.
For the protection, the look, and feel, I would recommend this product as a very wise purchase. I have to, because I bought one. But seriously, check it out, tell your friends, and be sure to tip your waitress.

I've always ridden with textile jackets, excusing myself with the significantly lower cost and tendency toward high ventilation. The sensation of being wrapped in an flimsy, ill-fitting duffel bag can really suck the joy out of higher speed activities though, so a full featured, well tailored leather jacket was always on my mind.
The Tarmac made the switch accessible for me. The price appears to be exceptional for the quality of the product, which isn't half bad. Mine fits like glove that really wants to get to know me better, and since it breathes wonderfully at road speeds and acceptably at stop lights, my level of comfort has actually gone up in comparison to that delivered by the boxy American-cut jackets I previously wore (I'm 5' 10" and 145 pounds).
The thick hide, careful stitching, and armored shoulders and elbows inspire confidence in me, and possibly fear in my enemies. The overall impression is that I could eat pavement at considerable speed and then get up to give stern lecture to whoever contributed to my accident. The jacket feels properly overbuilt: durable and tough without being burdensome. As others have mentioned, though, look into a replacement back protector.
Color comment: the aero-hump on the back is helpful for people with skinny necks like mine, really helps stabilize my helmet against wind buffeting. Although I haven't tried stuffing my hydration bladder in there yet, I can report that it neatly fits one of those stubby Belgian beer bottles inside. Just don't open it first.

I wear a size 44 euro for Dainese jackets very snug with a back protector. But Rev It sizing chart states 46 is for 35-36 chest, does that mean it is tighter fitting than most brands for euro 46 since they are for 36 chest? It seems Dainese is the only major motorcycling brand that makes jackets for Euro 44 without special ordering.

Yes, Revit! runs a bit smaller than Dainese from what I've seen. I've always found Dainese to be better for a taller, bigger rider. If you're short I'd go Revit!, otherwise go Dainese.

A hydration bladder is not included. Any Camelbak or other system should work as long as it's not too huge...my 2 litre Platypus bag seems to yield a bit too much rolled up plastic to be graceful, but it still functions.

The zipper is not meant to keep the leather together in the event of a crash. Instead it is meant to keep your lower back covered in the riding position so that the leather is used and not your skin. The elastic strip is double-stitched and re-enforced at places, so the wear and tear of simply riding with it won't damage it.

This really depends on your local track guidelines for gear. Be sure to check with them on any restrictions they may have on protection.

Hey, I'm about 5'8 and 150ish (172cm and 69kg). I'm sizing 40us/50euro with RS Taichi. Would a 46 or 48 fit me better with a Revit Tarmac leather jacker? When will you have them in stock? Will other colors be available on the American market? I know that in Europe they got the non-perf in different colors.

Hey, i bought this jacket in a size 48 but i am 5.7. it does fit small, i know a size 50 will be more confortable. if you have a big waist, go for a bigger size. The jacket does run small. I h ope this helps. cheers

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. REV'IT! sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.
Chestwidth: Measure from under/top of armpit cross chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
