Dainese New Delmar Leather Jacket (Perforated)

Dedicated to the most competitive sport riders with a design essential and aggressive at the same time, the New Delmar jacket offers the technical excellence and high performance of Dainese racing apparel. Special D-Skin leather, thermoformed shoulders, titanium inserts, fixed composite protectors, and the pocket for the G-type back protector all contribute to providing top level protection.

Correct temperature control is ensured by the air inlets in the chest and back, the 3D bubble liner, and localized perforation. Freedom of movement and elevated comfort are guaranteed by the Neck 5 support, elasticated inserts, and inserts in S1 stretch fabric on the sleeves and back.

I wrote the 1st review 2 years ago of this jacket. And for 2 years, I loved it. I got compliments everywhere I went on how great it looked. When the temp hit triple digits here, I was wearing this jacket with no problem.
Nobody wants to actually test protective gear. But sometimes we have to. I lowsided earlier this afternoon. Slid on my right side. And this jacket is why I'm able to use two hands to type this. I slid long enough to grind the titanium insert on the shoulder FLAT. And my upper body is completely uninjured. Not even any soreness from the impact.
This jacket took the asphalt with absolutely no problem. I was at Revzilla yesterday looking at other Dainese jackets. But I will not be buying a different one.
I will be back there soon to buy another New Delmar

When this first came in, I was blown away by the quality, solid and well stitched, weighty but not overly so. The leather is amazing and the perforation is more than generous, it’s downright chilly under 60°F. The Neck 5 system that came with it seemed pretty interesting, and was one of the deciding factors for purchasing this jacket over a couple of the other Dainese higher-end leathers. However, on my first ride home it was a miserable little device. It was uncomfortable and I wanted nothing more to get rid of it! I was so happy that it is removable. With that said, I gave it another chance the following day and began to come around, its been a few days of varied riding on two different machines and now… I kind of like it. It’s a bit odd a first but once you get used to it being there it feels quite nice. Either way it’s completely and easily removable if you so choose. Overall, the styling and attention to detail are typical Dainese, and the liner is ridiculously comfortable. If your accustomed to Dainese gear you will not be disappointed. If you’ve never been acquainted with the brand, you’ll not be dissatisfied the level of quality and protection over other brands (cough... icon... cough) it is worlds away. The price is hard to swallow, but honestly it is worth every penny and then some.
Sizing:
True to all Dainese Jackets I'm 5'10", 165 lbs., 40” chest 30” waist athletic build and I have been a size 50 in all Dainese jackets I have purchased.

I absolutely love this jacket. Very comfortable. Very protective . Air flows great, and although I have not had a chance to ride in Warner weather yet, I can only assume that it will be very cool for a leather jacket. Looks great.
The only downside is the price, but, good aint cheap, and cheap ain't good.

I'm 5'9", 155lbs, and the size 38/48 fits like a glove. I have 2 alpine stars jackets and a teknic mesh jacket and none of them are as comfortable, stylish, and protective as the Delmar. I tried on the Santa Monica jacket at a local Dainese store (Costa Mesa), and for the price the Delmar is seemed to be a better option for me since it has more perf, the neck support, and the bubble liner. I use this jacket in blk/wht zipped to the Dainese Delta Pro blk/wht pants and they fit as well as match perfectly. Leather is the highest quality and thick yet soft. Armor plates line up perfectly exactly where they should be. As stated in other reviews, this jacket is extremely comfortable in pretty much any climate as well. It's mid 80's today and this jacket felt even better than my mesh one.
I tried out a size 36 at first and it was a bit too small. RevZilla was extremly helpful and prompt with the exchange.

I am 6 foot and 78 kgs 32 size waste and a 50 size jacket fits perfectly, the jacket overall is comfortable and good even upto a 35 degree celcius day. The neck on the jacket did push into my throat a bit but eased up after a good 1000kms. Revzilla's service is excellent. I also purchased the delta perforated leather pants and they zip well to this jacket. (looks pretty cool too!)
Pros Comfortable, Rugged, Fashionable

I went in to Revzilla to just check out the Dainese sale. I never actually assumed I would own one of these jackets since they were so expensive but wanted to try them on anyway. Ive been using Alpinestars and Joe Rocket jackets over the past 5 years.
The minute I tried on the Dainese jacket though, I fell in love. I understand why these are priced the way they are now. Ive been trying on many jackets in the past few months looking for something new. This was the only one that fit like a glove the moment I put it on. It was super soft and yet felt very protective at the same time. The arm length was perfect and it came down over my waist enough that it didnt feel too short.
This is definitely a long-term ownership type of jacket. Something you wont consider replacing anytime soon. Bonus is my closet now smells like a fine leather store.
Pros Comfortable

I went with a size 50 euro. Im 5'9 and weigh 155. The sizing is exactly the same as an RS Taichi jacket I tried on locally.

Was sold the second I tried it on!

Stopped by the Revzilla store front to drool and wish a bit... Till they handed me this jacket. Last year I bought an Icon jacket via some website that didn't even survive the first try on (every snapped broke on opening). I have zero concerns with this jacket.
My old jacket felt like... well a jacket. The New Delmar feels like an extension of me. Across the chest it fits perfect. And covers my long arms past the point where my gloves would end. The armor in the shoulders and elbows simply couldn't be felt despite they are a significant upgrade to my old jacket. Zipped up, everything simply falls into its place and is ready to perform its job of protecting me (tho I hope it never has too).
As for looks, I was looking at the Dainese Racing Jacket. But I had my girlfriend with me and she chose the black & white New Delmar out of all the jackets in the store. She's the fashionista in this fam and her stamp of approval puts it right up there with any fashion mag. My only pre-requisite was white for night visibility.
It's a bite out of the wallet. But the wallet ain't crying over this purchase. And the guys at Revzilla were a huge part of this purchase. All my gear will be from them. And now, all my gear will be Dainese. This jacket is pure quality, comfort and style.
Pros Rugged, Comfortable, Fashionable, Great Value

Answer: 
Yes it is a perforated version. Dainese's site doensn't differntiate between the perf and non-perf versions in terms of descriptions which is what you read here at Revzilla. Whenever you see two listings on Revzilla's site that specifies the regular product name and one that is non-perf. The regular description will designate the perforated version. Another clue is the imagery in which case you can see the perforation in the detail photos of the product. Hopefully that will help.

The Delmar Non-Perforated has a black colour and I'm wondering why this one does not or if Dainese hasn't rolled them out yet.

Unfortunately, it does NOT come in all black. I comes in two colors in the perf version
(white/black, black/white). Dainese will custom build this jacket direct from the manufacturer in any color(s) you want. It runs 20% higher in price but its more personalized and well worth it. I ordered mine that way.

SIZING INSTRUCTIONS

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. Dainese sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chestwidth: Measure from under/top of armpit cross chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
