Leave it up to Dainese; this Jacket is the real deal. The elbow, forearm, and shoulder protection is excellent. The leather is good. I got the orange, and it's a bold statement, but that's what I wanted. There's too many riders out there in boring old black. The airflow is minimal. If you're looking for a jacket that keeps you cool in the desert, then this is not your jacket. I'd say it's comfortable up to 95 degrees. Yet, overall, I think this jacket does better in heat than most. I'm 6'1" 185lbs, with a 40" chest and I wear the 54 jacket. With the chest and back protector, it's a decent fit, a little loose if you prefer the extreme snug fit. I'd have ordered a size smaller, but the sleeves and overal length of the jacket are sort of short -- like the jackets we wore in the 1980s. So I decided to keep the 54 jacket. I wouldn't recommend this jacket for really tall, skinny guys. Everyone else should be okay. If you buy the jacket, then also get the back protector (and possibly a chest protector, too)

I've tried on a couple of Dainese jackets before. I felt like i was in between a 46-48 for leather. I'm 5'8" 140 and usually a 36/38 short suit jacket. I did measure my chest just at my nipples and was right at 37.75". I ordered this in a 48 and was initially a little concerned about how snug it was in the arms. I guess picking up my 2yr old 80,000 times a day gives the old pipes a work out. I tried it on with several articles of clothing before I rode in it. What convinced me in the end was that I could get a micro fleese under the jacket and still feel like I could ride in it. After a few rides the jacket is really starting to take it's shape for me. The padding does shift a bit but settles where it needs to be after a good ride. It is the vintage leather so it looks a bit different in person. I'd recommend this jacket for everyday riding protection and maybe some scattered track use in a pinch. The ultimate bonus is that I know absolutely no one in my area is going to be sporting this jacket and the black, white, magnesium is spot on for a new black with grey stripe Monster 1100 Evo.

It looks better in person rather than in pictures. The jacket around the waist is a little short, but other than that everything else about the jacket feels great. takes about 3-4 days to wear in before the jacket starts to really fit. Overall the leather is nice and soft, better than any others I have tried. the bubble liner on the inside works great, been riding in about 6-10 degrees with just a shirt underneath.

Style-wise this jacket was exactly what I was looking for. It's one of the few vintage leather jackets on the market that isn't black or another dark color. The orange body stands out great amongst traffic; my friends have commented how easy I am to spot around town. It only has two small reflective tabs above the elbows though, so riding at night you may still be harder to see.
The fit is snug like most Italian brand jackets. I you've got a bigger gut, want to layer, or want to wear a back protector you might need the next size up.
Ventilation on the jacket is just okay. It has perforated leather beneath the armpits, but it could use some zip-open vents for warmer weather. Above 75 it gets pretty warm. It's great for lower temps though (50's - 60's). I rode for a couple hours in the mid 50's with just a t shirt underneath and it was perfect.
Overall it's a great, stylish jacket for fall and spring riding.

90% of the appeal of this jacket is the style, and it definitely lives up to expectations in this area. Very nice quality and beautiful leather. Ridiculously good looking. The orange is as 'in your face' as it looks in the pictures, so expect scowls from some and compliments from others. Protection is mixed. The included elbow protection is pretty comfortable, but the shoulder protection is a little annoying. It's just stuck in with velcro, and not actually inside any kind of pocket. This is great if you want to take it out quickly, but makes it a little awkward when putting on the jacket. Also, it has a hard plastic cap that protrudes quite a bit, making the fit on your shoulders kind of boxy. So far I've been wearing it over an internal armor setup, which isn't bad. But I imagine the dainese back and chest would fit more comfortably. My only other complaints besides the shoulder protection are the comfort of the collar and arm cuffs. Both have been rubbing me raw. The collar is just too tall for my taste, and the arms have full leather flaps inside the zip area, which leads to a little bunching when zipped. I guess you get some retro (dis)comfort to go with the style. It's worth it though. In case you're wondering where the perforation is, its only in the armpits. Warm at 80 degrees, but no more so than any of my other non-mesh jackets. Sizing, I'm 6', 165 swimmers build, and bought a 50. It's skin tight with pads in, and borderline short in the arms, but moves well enough with no restriction. Feels safe being this tight too. If you're going for casual fit, go bigger.

The leather is comfortable right away--doesn't require half a year of break-in. I have the red/white version, which I was a little hesitant about at first, but I went with it because it's super visible. After a couple months, I feel very comfortable wearing it. I also got the back protector; I would prefer a little tighter hold on the protector by the pocket--it seems to float around a little. Pants zip in almost all the way around the waist and create a track-legal leather suit.
