Alpinestars Tech 1-R Leather Jacket
For the current Zilla price...if they have your size buy it.
I have used an MX-1 jacket for three season and I love it. Every time a new A* jacket came out, I would want it so bad... then I'd look and my MX-1 and just remember how great it was and forget about the new jacket. Then the new Atem jacket came out and the Tech-1R was now going away and the prices were going down. A friend of mine bought a Atem jacket and it just didn't seem as well made as my MX-1 or my new Tech-1R jacket. Just the finishing and little deals aren't there. But this is only my own opinion and I'm not saying that the Atem jacket isn't a great jacket...it just lacks some of the details. And the Tech-1R is really really well made and I'd pay the non clearance price for it(but I didn't).
Note on sizing. If you have an MX-1 jacket the Tech-1r is a little tighter fit in the same size. Nothing major but the Tech-1 R wraps around your upper body more like a race suit in the sleeve and around your back(if you have a race suit you know what I mean).

Like the jacket. The video helped a lot to determine what the jacket has for me.

Awesome good looking Jacket with great protection!
After reading tons of reviews I decided to go with the Alpinestars Tech 1-R Leather Jacket and I have no regrets. I am 5’10 – 186 lbs and the large fits me perfectly.

Worth every penny!
I love this jacket! I tried on the gp plus and other models below the tech-1r and the quality of the tech is miles apart. The gp elbow protection is far and away better, and the vented shoulder sliders are sick! They are the same sliders that you'll see on professional racers. The jacket is an aggressive race fit so I had to go up a size. I am 5'10 175 max and the 44us fits nice, the 42 was too tight with the chest and back protector installed. The air flow is awesome as well, I wore this in 85 degree heat and was perfectly comfortable. The only complaint I HAD was the race hump did bump my helmet a bit so I removed and trimmed the top of it with scissors and its perfect now and you can't tell one bit. And even with the bionic chest and race back protector i hardly notice i am wearing this much protection. It's more than confidence inspiring and i swear it's made me a better rider because of the aggressive fit and keeping my elbows in the right position. You will not be disappointed with the quality of the tech 1r, you will know where your money went.

Very happy with the coat, fits kinda small based on online's chart. Had to return original coat for next size up, but service is awesome. Shipping could be a bit faster, takes at least a week.

I love the Tech 1-R!
The tech 1-r is a great jacket. My Gmx Motion was maybe a tad bit better. But the fit was too big. This is perfect. Love the tech 1-r.

Bang for the Buck
Really good feel once you were it. Astars quality shown everywhere. Fit is perfect but the jackets run a little smaller.
When I measured myself I was definitely a size or 2 smaller in the chest and the shoulders. But I had longer sleeves. So I tried one of my friends monza and I also tried a trigger suit and I bought one size up. So you really have to figure out where you stand by trying on some jackets from astars(the snug fit ones especially have a different fit and stitch)
Comparing it with a astars gp-pro jacket and a monza jacket(from a 2-piece suit) this one feels and has lots more of safety features like additional padding throughout and external sliders, etc.
Do some research between top grain Vs full grain leather and you will get a better idea I guess.
Other than that a really good jacket from astars for spirited street riding and an average track rider. I am not sure about pro-level of protection for people interested in pro-level track riding. Might have to look a little above the order I guess.
So far no complaints. But be careful with sizing. Try one before you make an order to avoid the hassle of exchanging for the right size.
