This is a nicely made jacket with high quality leather and a comfortable fit. The jacket is cut so that the armour conforms well to the body in a riding position without binding or restricting movement. The perforations provide lots of airflow, particularly if you ride without a large windscreen. The zip-in liner is a plus for extending use to three seasons. The only negative comment I have is that the front zipper is too small. I have to take my gloves off and put my reading glasses on to engage the zipper at the bottom. The size seems to run a bit large. I wear a 40 in other motorcycle jackets but a 38 fits me perfectly in this jacket.

Love the jacket and get compliments on it constantly. It's stylish while not skimping on protection. The airflow is awesome when the inside is taken out and it's warm when it's left in. It's not the most comfortable jacket to just walk around in, but well worth the protection when on the bike and comfortable enough to forget about it when riding. The collar irritated my neck for a week or so but I got used to it. I heard it fit really big, so I got two sizes smaller than what I would have gotten and it fits perfect. I would rather the wrists have more of an ability to snap in for a tighter fit, but they do have zippers and snaps for a good enough fit and you can open them up to take it off easier and for when it's hot to let air in. I would rather the waist had some ability to be snapped in for a tighter fit around the waist, but it is tapered for a bit of a modern fit so it's alright.

This was my first motorcycle jacket and it turned out to be a good pruchase. I was unsure how hot the jacket would get in the afternoon during summer but I have discovered that it is very comfortable. The perforations keep you very cool. I have worn it up to 90 degrees fahrenheit so far with no problems. I also wore it to work this morning and it was 50 degrees out without getting to cold. I have a 30 minute commute by the way. The jacket fits relatively tight I think. I was sized for a suit jacket at 36S so I bought the 38 to accomidate extra clothes underneath. I am glad I went with the 38 because it fits perfectly on me. I would recommend buying one size up from suit sizing. I think the pads have something to do with making it fit smaller though.

Answer: 
The PE Foam in the back and chest compartments is both removable/upgradable. We would recommend the Alpinestars Bionic Chest Pads and the Alpinestars Bionic Air Back Protector Insert.

I wear size 54 euro in the A* SP-1 perforated leather jacket, and the 56 also fits good but a little more loose.
will size 52 fit me good? I read this jacket runs large for its size..
Or should I order size 56 and be on the safe side?

I would think that you are between the 52 and 54 sizes. 56 will most likely be too big. If you would like to layer underneath, go for the 54, otherwise the 52 should be a snug fit.

This jacket does have more of a 'casual' fit as opposed to a 'sport' fit. I would just go one size down to compensate.
