Awesome jacket, awesome experience all around. First off let me just say what phenomenal customer service I got from Eric and the rest of the revzilla team. My jacket along with the pants and other things I ordered arrived the next day, even with the free shipping! And I messed up and left a grunge brush out of my order and they gave me free shipping on that too, even though it was shipped separately. Now to the actual jacket. Snug fit and true to size. Leather seems to be very high quality, and super comfortable (in terms of a racing jacket) right off the jump. Took it out for a spin with just a tee shirt on underneath and the liner is no joke. Even with the perforations I couldn't feel the wind or cold (it was about 50 degrees out). The pads are great, and I'll be ordering the back protector soon. Couldn't be happier with my purchase! Thanks Revzilla! April 9, 2014
Love it Love this jacket. The fit is snug just like a leather jacket should be. I ordered a 56 which I believe is a 1 size up then the chart. I ordered the back and chest inserts for added protection as well. I am 6'2 200 lbs athletic build with a size 33 waist. the Size 56 fits perfect. February 27, 2014
Alpinestars Jaws This was the first jacket that I purchased from Revzilla and I have to say that it was a great experience. There was no problem with delivery and shipping was fast. I went by the size chart and got a size 52 and I must say it fits perfect, it’s a snug fit but you expect that because of it being an aggressive style. The construction of this jacket is superb. I feel confident (not if but when) I go down that this will keep my skin on. The only downside to this jacket is the back protection because there is none, upgrade to the alpinestars bio armour. overall I recommend this to anyone looking for a great leather jacket. February 13, 2014
Good protection with good style I'm 5'10" about 175lbs and a size USA 42 fits perfect, I'm pretty thin. I have the all black version, and I love this jacket. I did upgrade the back protection with a D30 level 2 protector, fits great. The only negative is that the velcro that holds the back protector in is way too thin and weak, I had to take it to a tailor and get industrial velcro for about 15 bucks. The airflow is good, even with the thermal liner in, that I get cold in mid 50 degree weather out here in sunny Colorado. I feel like i have good protection even on some of the more aggressive canyon roads. January 3, 2014
Excellent looks This jacket has excellent style! A little warm if you're not moving 25mph+ in the summer. Good down to 50f. I was at the top of a particular size on the size chart so I went one up and it fits perfect. The protection is all there except for the foam chest and back plates. Overall I'm glad I chose the jaws perforated leather jacket. December 9, 2013
Amazing!! I'm 223lbs, 5'11", and I have a 46" chest, 34" waist, athletic build. I bought size 58 (48US) since I could barely zip up size 56 and needed assistance from others to take it off. 58 fits me great, except the sleeve falls past my wrist, which really isn't a issue for me. This jacket has INSANE airflow, trust what Anthony says in his detail breakdown, this jacket performs EXACTLY as he describes. Perforation and microfiber accordion stretch panels bring in some serious airflow, even going at 10mph. I've worn the liner at low 50s weather, and it keeps me warm, although microfiber panels on arms make the arms little bit chilly. Back and protection upgrades should be considered. They're just weak foam inserts. Besides that, jacket fits great, feels great, and looks extremely cool. November 23, 2013
Great Jacket It is a great/fantastic jacket, styling, protection, everything good. But you have to pay attention in the size. Normally (clothes in general), i use M (size 40), but as i read in other comments, i decide to took a bigger size the L (size 42) and i made the right choice. Just in the chest is tight, but i supposed to be like this. November 22, 2013
This is an excellent warm weather leather jacket. The jacket fit snugly at first and then broke in a bit. It definitely feels better on the bike, but only slightly. The jacket feels great overall and the air flow is more than adequate for temps between 70 to 80 degrees F. For anything above 85 F, I prefer a mesh jacket. With the vest liner in I have ridden for a couple of hours in the mid sixties at mostly highway speeds. November 21, 2013

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Robert C: The styling is phenomenal to start with, but the fit is amazing. I was hesitant to switch from a mesh textile jacket to a leather one, but the added security is well worth the extra heat. Apr 11, 2014

A shopper asked: I'm planning on purchasing the jaws jacket but I don't know what size to go with. I'm 5' 11'' and about 175lbs. I heard this jacket runs small so should I go with size 54/44? Aug 21, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Joao G: Size does run a touch small, particularly when used together with the thermal vest. I'm same height as you, though heavier (195lbs) and the size 56 fits me perfectly ie snug in the arms, comfortable around chest and waist. The size I bought was the exact size suggested by the sizing chart on the RevZilla page for this jacket. Note that I also have the optional Bionic back protector and chest protector inserts, though those don't seem to have affected the fit at all.

So my suggestion is to take advantage of the very sensible RevZilla return policy and go with the suggested size and try it on. Move around a little bit, see how comfortable it feels with the thermal vest. If you're not happy, you can always exchange it for the next size up.

MIKE P: I'm 5'11" and about 195. I normally wear a size 44 suit jacket, or sport. I tried a 54 in this jacket and it was too tight in the middle. Shoulders where fine. I got the 56 and all is good.

If you truly weigh 175 and are fairly fit, the 54 will be awesome. Bear in mind that these jackets are supposed to be somewhat snug, else they don't provide the protection needed.

I love this jacket. Very understated, lots of cool features and a decent price.

billy o: The last A-Stars jacket I purchased was a size 52. It fit well so figured I'd get the same size when I was looking at the Jaws. The jacket does fit a bit tight, especially with the new thermal liner. After about 3 weeks of riding it still is a bit snug. I'm the same build so go with the 54. Aug 22, 2013

John R: I'm 6'-0" and 180lbs. and I purchased the 52\42. It is snug, but I can wear my Alpinestars Track Vest underneath without any problems. If you like a larger fit, then go up to 54\44. BTW, great jacket. Aug 22, 2013

A shopper asked: As far as perforated or non-perforated which one would you recommend for 50-90 degree weather i.e: Cold New York Springs/Falls? Will the thermal liner provide sufficient internal climate control during the colder days or should I just go with the nonperforated jacket?

I also like the new GP Plus R but it seems as though the JAWS jacket may have more versatility.....

Brennan H: So Cal rider here. This jacket is perfect for the range you mentioned (50F-90F). With the liner and a sweater plus a base layer you will survive into the mid 40s. As long as ur moving 90 is also doable but it can get warm if sitting in traffic. The zipper vents really help to cool down when tucked in the rising position. Apr 13, 2014

Ryan S: I live in the southwest and see a bit more of a temperature range than that. I would recommend going with the perforated for versatility. I was fine all winter with it and definitely like the ability to remove the inner liner to get it ready for summer. Apr 10, 2014

Zubeida M: hello

I use the jaws perforated jacket its excellent when its hot weather and flows a lot of air i think if you the thermal liner you should be fine in 50 degree temp i think a non perforated jacket will just get to hot
Apr 10, 2014
Reply to Zubeida Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
George M: I would definitely go for the perforated. You will appreciated it on those 90 degree days. I put the liner in and layer up with some thermals underneath and I'm good to ride in the 40's. You're going to love this jacket! Apr 10, 2014

Chris S: Personally I like the perforated one, it definately helps in the hot temps and with the liner you should be fine in the colder temps as well. if anything you can do what i did and just throw a zip up hoodie over it. Apr 11, 2014
Reply to Chris Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Aaron J: I would say the Perf. The liner is stout and long sleeve, not just a vest. It runs smaller too, I wear a 40, but I could have gotten away with a size 42 in this jacket. Apr 10, 2014
Reply to Aaron Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
John R: If you are riding in the 50-60 degree range, even with the liner you might be cold at freeway speeds. If so, upgrade to non-pref jacket. Apr 10, 2014

Stephen W asked: I bought the size 52...but its too tight...im 5' 11.. about 175lbs... when im sitting on the bike it feels ok, but the moment i stand up the chest is too tight and arms are too tight.. i cant even cross my arms or take a full breath.. should I go for the 54 or 56? Levi L: I bought(52) one size bigger than Alpinestars chart told me to get. When I first got it I needed my girlfriend to take it off of me because the arms were so tight. I've had the jacket for a while now and it does fit better but it's a combination of two things. The jacket is broke in and my arms are smaller from not going to the gym lol. I'm 6' and weighed 180 when I bought it. I weight about 165 now :/. The jacket fits more like it needs to now that I lost muscle :(. So if you stay around 175 I might go up to a 54. Feb 7, 2014

jose m: Go with the 54 if you want it to be more comfortable and the 56 if you want it to be more of a relaxed fit, keep in mind it will stretch a little with use, I to brought a 52 at first and couldn't fit my arms in it, I then went with a 56 which was snug at first but I put about 8k miles on it last season and it fits great now Feb 6, 2014

Jarret O: I'm 6'1" and ~165, and the 56 feels good on me (I've mostly worn it with the liner in so far, as it's been cold). Since we're fairly similar height/weight, I'd guess the 56 would fit you better than the 54. Not sure if/how much it will stretch, I haven't had the opportunity to wear mine much yet. Feb 6, 2014

Michael D: Stephen,

I am 5'10" 175lbs and have normally wear a US 44 jacket. I originally went with a 54 for this jacket and had the same issue with it being too tight, specifically around the shoulder/top of chest area. I moved up to the 56 and it fits perfectly.

John B: I would say 54. Don't forget it's leather so it will break in. If you plan on getting any bigger or adding front and back protectors you might want to go 56 Feb 6, 2014

Andrew D: I am about 5'10 and 170 and work out, tried the 52 but to small, the 54 is great, i think that will work for you great 56 will be too large. good luck Feb 6, 2014

A shopper asked: I'm a female rider looking to start riding again after two years. Alpinestar has always been my favorite racing jacket. I'm 5'6, 150 lbs and if I wear jeans from men, I'm wearing a 33 in size. Can anyone help me get the right size for this jacket?? Please and thank you! Nov 17, 2013

Arjun G: Sizing can be tricky. I suggest you go by the manufacturer's size chart and take your measurements and ensure a good fit.

If this helps, I am 5'7" 164 lbs and I got a EUR size 48, which was a very snug fit. It has expanded a little since my purchase but not by a whole lot. Give your jacket some time to break in - when I first got my jacket, I was debating on whether to return it or not but I decided to give it a shot. I can't wear the jacket with the inner lining in it but that has never been a big problem for me. If you'd rather wear the jacket with the inner lining, you have to give due considerations to the size you order.

Hope this helps. Safe riding!

Michael D: The jacket size mainly depends on the chest width and how tight of a fit you are comfortable with. I am 5' 10" 185lb, I normally wear a size EU 54, or US 44. refer to the size chart. http://www.revzilla.com/alpinestars-size-chart#26 . But in this case, the EU 54 size was very snug. I swapped it for a EU 56 and the fit is perfect with the liner, and even better without the liner for those hot days. I recommend taking measurements by using the size chart, and choosing the next size up. Hope this helps! Nov 17, 2013

John B: I would say go with 50. But a women's cut jacket will definitely be best (especially for the chest area). At 5' 6" the arms on the 50 will be a little long as with the length of the jacket. 48 will be too tight if you wear 33 mens jean. Don't even go near 52. Hope this helps! Nov 17, 2013

RevZilla: We contacted Alpinestars with your question. They informed us that the jacket does have a pants connection zipper, but it is not a 360 zip. It only goes from hip to hip around the back and does not zip in the front. Feb 27, 2013

A shopper asked: I'm new to the motorcycling world. After some research and recommendations from friends, I decided to go with this jacket. I am still really confused about the sizing. I have all my measurements, but I still don't know where it would place me on the sizing chart. Chest: 41 in., Waist: 43 in., Arm Length: 22 1/2 in., Height: 5 feet 6 in., and around 195 pounds. My question is, do I just go with the biggest measurement and and go from there? I've also seen that is' Euro sizing so does that mean I go with my largest measurement and then go a size up? REINIER R: Hi, I bought the black 50 Eur size and I'm size 40" chest, jacket felt snug at first then it stretches a little and now more comfortable. You're kind of in between sizes, I suggest buying 52 euro specially if you put the hard chess and back protector. 50" euro will be to tight and if you have gut belly, it will not look good. I hope that helps and enjoy the jacket, I know you will get a lot of attention from people like I do. Mar 20, 2014

A shopper asked: My chest is a size 36 (us), however this jacket only comes in the equivalent of a 38 (us), do the sizes run small at all, or would i be better off finding another jacket? Apr 8, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
jvang: Hi Qasim,

I just bought this jacket a couple weeks back and I absolutely love it. The size does run a little small because it is a race fit. I'm 5'4" 150 lbs, and I measured my chest at 38-1/2" - 39" so I ended up getting the size 40US/50EUR which I thought might have been a bit too big at first, however when I tried it on, it was snug, but it's designed to be a little snug, and stretch over time. You being a size 36US, a size 38US might fit well for you. Also, consider your arm length; if you're getting the smallest jacket out there, the sleeves are also going to be short. You need to find a good middle-point between the two. Watch the sizing video and go by the A-Stars sizing chart. I hope that I was able to help with your question.

A shopper asked: Hey High-Vis Brian, wondering how the Jaws fits compared to the GP-Plus. Sending my newly-purchased GP-Plus back for the new Jaws perf, and want to know, thermal liner out, how it's going to fit compared to the track-snug GP-Plus. I wear a 48, am 5'6" 140lbs soaking wet.
Also wondering if it's all the same armor as ion the GP-Plus, ie CE shoulder, elbow, and foam back, chest. Wasn't mentioned in the video (strange, Anthony's usually really good about that)
Oh, and it's a Pre-Order right now, how long until it will actually start shipping out?
Thanks!!

RevZilla: Hi-Viz Brian here. I saw your questions on our website and wanted to reach out to you personally.

I tried on both the Jaws and GP Plus back to back to get the best idea of each jacket's fit. Both jackets were a size 52 (my size) and they fit extremely well. The GP Plus definitely has a less aggressive pre-shape to it. The GP Plus didn't seem to force my body into the tuck riding position as much as the Jaws did. However, you are still getting a semi-aggressive pre-shape with the GP Plus.

Furthermore, the Jaws felt slightly more snug than the GP Plus with the thermal liner inside. With the thermal liner removed, both jackets had the same amount of "snugness" (I can't believe that is actually a word). They were not bulky by any means. I would recommend sticking with the size 48 if you decide to go with the Jaws.

Both jackets have removable CE-certified Bio-Armor in the shoulders and elbows. The chest and back compartments have PE padding inside. However, the Bionic chest pads and Back Armor are available as an upgrade.

In a nut shell, if you want an extremely bad azz / aggressive cut street / track jacket, the Jaws is for you. If you want a little more overall comfort off the bike while still getting an aggressive fit the GP Plus is your main man.

Can you only put the bionic air inserts in?

Thanks!

Kevin M: I haven't put any, the back protector I left there, and the chest one that it included, even though they were just thin foam layers, made the jacket a little too bulky for me. Apr 16, 2014

A S asked: Does the Full white version have black accents on the back as well, like the other colors?

Haven't been able to find any more pictures regarding the full-white Jaws Jacket. Does anyone have any pictures that show the back of the full-white version?

Christian R: The full white version should be the same exact opposite of the black version which has pictures. The black accents that you seen on the front of the white is also the same material on the back and everything that's not leather on the jacket is black; hence the accents similar to the front of the white jacket will be visible on the back as well. A S asked: Perforated or non perforated? I'm worried that if I buy the perforated version I will be to cold in Early Spring/ Mid Fall riding. I live in NY and these seasons run around 50 degrees. Obviously this jacket seems ideal for summer once the thermal lining is removed.

Also if non perforated is suggested how would this compare to the new GP Plus R jacket (non perforated) warmer? cooler? THANKS

Robert K: I got this jacket last year and rode this past weekend in 45 degree weather.. It comes with the liner but I would recommend wearing a long sleeved shirt underneath. In hot weather it's unbeatable. I ordered a non-perf by accident and am really glad I returned it. It would have been WAY too hot for the summer. I live in Virginia btw. Apr 10, 2014

A shopper asked: would all alpinestars pants zip in to this? I'm currently looking in to the gp plus leathers. Feb 16, 2014

Miguel C: I actually own both products and they work. All jackets and pants zip up perfectly. All A-stars products include the other part of the zipper for any non-Alpinestars products to be stitched by a tailor. Feb 17, 2014

Charles Gabriel C asked: A* Perforated Jaws vs Icon Overlord Prime Leather Jacket?

Which one is SLIM FITTING and has shorter front torso length and broader shoulders to compensate for my not so manly attributes?
I hate it when a jacket bubbles and rides up on the front stomach when I hop onto a bike moreso in an agressive riding position, or is that normal?

I am a 5'6" 135lbs 34" chest 30" waist 30 inseam, slim fit build. Imagine Bruce Lee, with the semi-long hair and everything, excluding the skills and coolness factor.

wally s: Don't know about the overlord , but the alpinestar is a race fit, meaning snug everywhere . I never noticed any bulkyness to the jacket at all. I wear spine protector and chest protectors in it and the jacket is snug. Too big of a jacket would be bulky! But i'm 5'11' ,185 , 42' chest and i have the 44. the 42 wouldn't allow me room for spine and chest protection, so i got 44. hope i helped Dec 9, 2013
