Nice jacket, but has a weird precurve shape to it. I have the Jaws jacket in size 56 and it fits perfectly. I'm 6'2", 200 lbs, with a 45" chest. The sizing chart is spot on. The jaws is almost a five star jacket, but has one flaw. This jacket is really nice, but it has a wierd shape to it. It doesnt effect comfort or performance, just the styling. Its a more pronounced precurve that is almost too much. Its looks a little wierd to me, but i still love the jacket and I get compliments on it all the time. I also have a GP Pro jacket, which is a better jacket, and without the intense precurve or rounded shoulders. Still the jaws jacket is very high quality and offers a ton of protection. June 9, 2015
Best leather jacket with a removable liner This is a great jacket the removable lining is warm and makes a big difference, it is stylish and comfortable, vents well with the liner removed. The leather quality is top class and the protection is great. The only bad point is the zips on the chest vents are not robust and keep getting stuck. March 9, 2015
solid jacket, but not perfect I live in the SF Bay Area, and ride year around. I was looking for a leather jacket for fall-winter use; one that would not flow too much air, and one that I could ride on mornings down into the high 30-low 40 degree temperature range. I need to wear layers underneath, usually a fleece pullover. I am 6'0, 195, and chose a Jaws non-perforated size 60. The jacket fits just a little snug with my fleece underneath...the armor is positioned well, and I am happy with the fit. I was worried that the textile panels on the arms would flow air when I'm riding, but happy to say that they are wind tight (at least with the liner in) I do not feel any wind intrusion whatsoever. Thus far, I have ridden with temperatures down to the mid 40's and the jacket has performed well. My only gripe is with the zippers. They are light duty, compared to other leather jackets that I have. My fleece pullover has a better quality zipper. The zipper is an annoyance to me. If it had a zipper that is up to par with the rest of the jacket, I would have rated it 5 stars. December 13, 2014
Great Jacket....Florida Rider I'm 6'6 215lbs with very long arms and athletic build and a size 58 jacket fits me perfectly. I'm located in North Florida and have ridden with the jacket in 85+ degree heat and when moving the jacket wasn't bad. When stopped in traffic you'll heat up really fast, but that's to be expected in a leather jacket. While the vents do work as advertised, they don't bring the jacket close to a perforated or mesh jacket. One thing I didn't notice, is that the inside of the arms aren't leather as is the rest of the jacket. This feature helps keep you a little cooler in the heat, but will let rain in if caught in a downpour "as I was on my first ride in the jacket". The only con I've found with this jacket, is the lack of a REAL BACK protector. I ordered one separately with the help of the revzilla staff, who provide hands down the best customer support I've ever encountered. If you have any questions, they are always quick and eager to find you an answer. Forcefield Back Protector Insert Pr o for Alpinestars (size Large) September 16, 2014
Great product! I love this jacket it fits alittle small but over all the style and comfort and protection is in this jacket. I couldnt be more happier i get plenty of attention riding with this jacket, turns plenty of heads.the best bang for your buck cost a little more than the other alpine stars jacket but is defently worth it. Recommending it all my riding friends. April 14, 2014
Great jacket Overall, I'm very pleased with this jacket. I tried a number of different jackets on and while some fit well, this one seemed to fit me the best. Has great styling and good protection. Unfortunately, it does not include a back or chest protector, but for the pricepoint I wouldn't expect that to be included. Materials used appear to be very high quality with a great amount of protection on the shoulder and elbow/forearm. Definitely a recommended product. I'm 5'7" 160lbs and bought the 38US/48EU size. It fit quite snug without the weather liner in - I doubt I'll be using that at all so I wasn't too concerned with it. March 17, 2014
Styling, Warmth, and Protection After riding for a few times in 40 degree weather, this jacket has helped keep me warm. I chose the Jaws because of the thermal zip in liner and it works well. It will add a little bulkiness to the fit of the jacket. I wear a thermal long sleeve and a long sleeve t-shirt underneath and I haven't been cold at all. I also purchased the back protector and it makes it a little snugger. I would recommend going one or two sizes up from what the alpinestars chart says. I am 6' tall and weigh 185 with a 41 1/2" chest. I went with the size 54 instead of the 52 and I am pleased with the fit, especially with winter clothes on. I'm sure when summer comes and I only wear a t-shirt and remove the thermal liner, the jacket will fit perfectly. I highly recommend this jacket. The quality and look of the jacket are perfect. Awesome jacket Fits true to sizeing chart and is extremely comfortable. Has good venting at the shoulders that will keep you cool while moving. Top quality leather and materials used in the product. The jacket is also cut in the front so the jacket comes across the body right above your belt, at first I didn't think I would like that feature but its so much more practical than you can imagine for these two major reasons. 1. When you are in the riding position it keeps the jacket from bunching up between you and the tank. 2. The jacket doesn't get pinched between your belt and the tank which prevents unwanted wear on the jacket or your tank if you don't have a protector on it. Overall quality for the price is excellent! RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Miguel D: Great brand and I like the color scheme May 18, 2015
Justin B: I picked this jacket for 3 main reasons. First I love A* gear and how it looks. Two it had really great reviews. Finally I chose this one as unlike other A* jackets it has a thermal liner which will help extend the amount of time I can ride during the year! Sep 19, 2014
Larry J: Wanted something a little tougher than my Joe Rocket mesh jacket offers me. While it's a little heavy/hot for the florida summers, it breaths well and doesn't catch or flap in the wind when getting up to speed. Aug 31, 2014
Ryan F: My first motorcycle jacket was an Alpinestars mesh jacket. It was extremely comfortable during summer, but moved way too much air when the temperatures cooled off. Given their quality, I knew that I wanted another Alpinestars jacket. The Jaws Leather Jacket is has a removable liner which is a great feature for the cold and with the vents open it doesn't get too warm when its hot out. Aug 14, 2014
Lee H: Alpinestar clothing seems to fit my body style better than other brands. I am usually either too tall or too thin for other brands. I needed a leather jacket that would be capable of colder temps (low 30s, F), yet be comfortable enough into the low 80s F.

I am 6'2" and 175lbs. A size 52 fits me perfectly. Was a bit snug at first but wore in wonderfully in less than a week of daily riding.

Matthew W: Was torn between GP R plus and Jaws. Went with Jaws because of removable thermal liner so I can use it when it's cold too. Mar 4, 2014
Reece A: the designed that brings me to the decision along with its characteristic of mixture between leather and textile. Jan 8, 2014
Robert H: good protection and a great looking jacket Sep 27, 2013
Gabriel N asked: I am 6ft 185 with a 41" chest, according to the size chart i should be a 52. I am planning on getting the chest and back armor upgrades and since this jacket has a thermal liner as well should i go a size up to 54? Oct 14, 2014

Donald M: Gabriel,
I am 5'9", 175 lbs. 41" chest. I bought a size 52 Jaws jacket. I use the stock shoulder and elbow protection. For the back, I wear a ForceField back protector. I don't use the chest protector much. Since the jacket is more of a 3 season jacket, I rarely have worn the thermal liner. When I put in the thermal liner, it is a little snug but have no problem with the zipper closing.
My feeling is you want to be comfortable when you are doing a majority of your riding. So I opted for it to fit the best with the back protector and without the thermal liner.
Since you are 6ft. perhaps the 54 might be better. The sleeves were too long for me for size 54.
Hope this helps.

Marshall W: I'm 6'1" 190 with a 44" chest and got the 54 it was tight at first but after break in it fits perfect..I don't know how much thicker the armor upgrade is, I would say go by the chart unless you don't want it snug, then go up a size Oct 14, 2014

Larry J: I would size up with the jacket, and go with a Forcefield Protector insert. I don't know where you'll do most of your riding, but in Florida and in weather down to the mid 50s I've never put the liner in the jacket. Oct 24, 2014

Tim L: I'm similar build, 6', 165, 40-41 chest. I ordered a 56, and it fights tight but comfortable with 2 layers underneath. The arms are especially tight. The armor shouldn't be an issue, more of the layers you wear. Oct 15, 2014

A shopper asked: The Alpinestars TZ-1 jacket fits me spot on in a size US40, does this jacket fit similar? (I know other more technical pieces such as the GP Pro tend to run even smaller then normal). Dec 23, 2013

Donald M: I bought a Jaws jacket and love it. It's stylish, fits well, and made with quality material and zippers. I cannot compare to the TZ-1 jacket as this is the only Alpinestars jacket I own. The Jaws jacket has a removal quilted vest liner.
I am 5'8" tall, weight 175 lbs., and have a 41" chest. I bought a size 42 USA which fits me well.

Tim L: This is my first real jacket, can't compare it to much. I went 1 size over the recommendation and am happy with the fit though. Dec 26, 2013

Erik O: I have this jakken. It well suited to people who are broad-shouldered and has narrow waist and well-trained torsos and arms. It can be a little loose and large on the top if it is stomach goal that determines the size. Dec 24, 2013

A shopper asked: Hi guys, I wanna buy Alpinestars Jacket at Revzilla, but I don't know which size to pick. I could use your help on this one. So i'm 6'4", around 180lb with 43" chest. Also I got like one inch/ half an inch longer arms than usual (f.i. stuff almost always has too short sleeves for me). I'm trying to decide between 54 and 56, and it doens't have to be close fitting me. Maybe I shouldn't stick to Alpinestars, and some other brands are better for that type of build?

Any input is much appreciated.
Thanks,
V.

Jerry B: As I've said for other questions, I normally wear a Med. - and a Large fit me on this jacket. I'm a 40" chest guy - so I would think you'll need the XL at least. May 31, 2015

Thomas D asked: Is this jacket too hot to ride in at 85+ weather? I have an Icon Overlord mesh jacket right now and during the day without the liner it is great but at night it gets to cold for all the wind. I want to know if this jacket with the vents is cool enough in hot weather or would I need the perforated version? Jul 29, 2015
