Why haven't you bought one yet? This is Great white shark of jackets available at the cost of a filet of salmon . Fitment is a bit large in the arms for me, I have an A* jaws and a Gunner WP for comparison , the Tech air fits snugly(correctly) in the chest and shoulders for me but the forearms could almost be considered a size too wide. I'm 6'1" 210lb and 'average', neither chubby or athletic. It is perfect length(in the arms) , but I did note that because the forearm pads extend up to almost the very last 1/2" of the arms in the jacket that the cuffs of my GP-Tech gloves didn't close as much as they did on the Jaws, so if you have problems with closing the gauntlets on (smaller) jackets this may be a problem. The perforation all over the jacket kept me very breezy while riding ~ 50mph on in aprox 75 degree weather, it's absolutely equivalent (or better) airflow than the Jaws at least . Being that this is really designed for use with pants , there are a couple of problems I can see if you're looking to use it as a weekend(or even everyday) jacket; 1) it rides up, meaning in a 'regular' position you will find that the back comes up and away from you a bit. 2) it doesn't have the nice foam rolled edges of newer A* jackets, which means the cuffs and neck areas can be a little uncomfortable or distracting. it's a soft suede-like liner, but it's no where near as invisible a feeling as the Jaws, and I doubt it's going to wick sweat away as much either. Ultimately although this doesn't make even a good 'everyday' jacket, the protection it offers for the price we're talking about (the new version which is 90% the same jacket cost $1000) makes it a no-brainer If you can live with the trade-offs. Second Skin This thing is built like a tank and wears like a tailored suit! This one is a definite confidence builder on the bike. It keeps the arms right where they need to be, and looks incredible. And on close out, you do not want to miss out on this gem. March 30, 2015
A-Stars...The best a rider could get. From the excellent video review to one of the best customer services I have experienced! I love this jacket for all the features and protection offered in a jacket, you want a race suit protection and fit this is what you need. When you first sip up the jacket to your correct size it will be SNUG and restrictive when standing up with your arms down. But as soon as you are perched up on your pegs you almost forget that this jacket is on you, yeah that comfortable when in the riding position. I purchased the GP Tech Air jacket with the intended purpose for track-days and canyon rides which I have used it for, but lately I have been using this jacket as my everyday gear commuting during the week to work. Knowing the amount of protection and all the technical features it offers this jacket is for me. Base layer, boots, and gloves... Alpinestars! March 4, 2015
Great But the Hump needs work Have only ridden once with this jacket.. everything works great but the hump in the back. As another rider wrote he also needed to shave off part of the hump so it wont interfere with his helmet and view. I shaved of about 1/2 and inch so that the helmet wont touch. I still haven't gone out to try if the 1/2 is good... you can reach the hump thru the inner liners (2) theres a Velcro pocket holding it in place. Good luck but the hump is really a dragggggg. Amazing jacket after 2 low sides 30-45mph Amazing jacket, protection and durability are great as well as airflow, saved my butt twice. Fits a little loose. Don't skimp on price, whats losing a couple months of work and skin grafts worth to you!!???? September 2, 2014
Top Notch Astars Finally an Astars jacket that fits as a sport jacket should, with a couple of minor exceptions: I am 5'7" and 144lbs, 38 in chest, 30 in waist, pretty athletically built with minimal body fat. I ordered the 48 euro based on my chest measurement and it fits great as far as the chest, shoulders, and waist are concerned. I also upgraded the back pad with the bionic insert and love it. My only gripe is the forearms are just a smidge too long (1/4 inch or so), but this is inherent of most jackets for me since I am of lesser height, so I can live with it. Air flow is amazing unless you wear a backpack, but this is true with most vented jackets. I also like that it comes with a wind-blocking liner for cooler days. While the aero hump is a bit larger than on most jackets and does tap the rear of my helmet at times, I've determined this is a non-issue since it only happens if I really crank my neck back, as it does not affect my ability to do head checks. I paired the jacket with Astars Track pants, and it makes a pretty comfortable two piece suit when mated together. All in all, glad it went on clearance so I could somewhat afford to get a higher end jacket ;-) July 12, 2014
Apex of jackets this is definitely alpinestars best jacket It has superior leather that's a little thicker And smother then the average. Great ventilation So you don't feel like dying in the heat at least The top half lol. And bottom line it's a shame it's on closeout May 26, 2014
Amazing track jacket I have yet to take this jacket out on the track but just from riding along P.C.H and twisty canyons like Ortega, I can say that this jacket does it's job so well in all categories. I feel very safe for the protection it offers, which boosts my confidence in riding, and it is actually really comfortable as well. It does put you in a aggressive riding position but that's what you get out of a race/track jacket. The hump on the back doesn't mess with my helmet at all (Shoei GT-AIR). Air flow is really good too, I don't sweat or get hot when I'm moving. After wearing other similar jackets that have a cheaper price tag, I'd say that the GP Tech Air is truly worth the $899.95. You get what you paid for, enough said. January 24, 2014

James M: Runs large so get a one size smaller than you normally would. But it is a really nice jacket. May 11, 2014
David M: cause it don't care much for getting skin grafts Jan 9, 2014
Allen C: I like to have the best of the best, I was going to buy this jacket eventually when I bought my next bike (2014-2015 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Green) but I decided I might as well start breaking it in now over the next 9 months and start getting used to the fit. From all the reviews I don't think I will be disappointed, plus I really love the look. This will be my very first leather motorcycle racing jacket. Alpinestars forever and ever! Go Team Green! Bert P asked: Hello I just got this jacket in the mail today and was wondering how tight this is supposed to fit? I ordered a 56 and I am 6'1" 230 pounds with an athletic build. I can get the jacket on with some struggle and it is snug in the chest and arms. Trying to take it back off was a panic mode. Very hard to get it off my shoulders. Is it supposed to be this snug or do I need to return it for a size larger? May 20, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Nathan K: Get a size or two larger. Your stats are too large for a 56. Keep in mind it will break in but not to loosen that kind of gap. Should be easy on and off by fitted and not prone to shifting. Pay attention to the elbow armor and shoulders not shifting but still flexible enough to move around and get in and out. At 230 you could probably go up two sizes, especially if you ever plan on wearing layers under it on cold days (will probably happen since it's very perforated). I'm 5 11 and 170 lbs and the 54 fits me on the snug size with a long sleeve underneath. I have a very athletic build. At 230 I would recommend going two sizes larger from where you are now May 21, 2015

Juan Ignacio H: Bert

Im almost 6 feet. 200 puonds. Athletic buil, kinda chuby in the belly and have Wide hips. I though I was a 56. So I ordered a 58 thinking sometime I might wanna fit in there an other layer or EVEN a back protector. In turn out to feet Just perfect. So maybe u think u are a 56 or u might EVEN be one. But personally a 56 from This jacket Also fits me kinda small. Also u gotta know it Will loose up a little but after regular use. Still make sure and tried to get your hands on a 58 before returning Just to be really sure.

Best of luck.

Anthony P: Hey, I have that exact build. When I ordered mine I read how alpine stars runs a little small. My suit jacket size is a 46 (56 eu) so I opted for the size up at 58. It fit a little tight at first but as the leather stretched it fits near perfect. I was a struggle to get out of at first as well but you get used to it and it never put me in a panic. I would recommend returning it and getting the bigger size. May 21, 2015

Michael R: Hey bro,
Go a size up, I'm 6'3" 230 and my 58 barely comes off too, especially after an arm workout or its a hot day, 56 is too small. I wouldn't go to a 60 though. The waist on mine is a little on the loose side. Hope that helps!

Chris E: Yes with Alpinestars race fit it is a bit tight at first but will stretch a little. If it is that tight though I would go up size. Especially if planning a track day and need to use a back protector you will still have room for it. May 21, 2015

Stephen W: I was a 52 in dainese and bought a 54 in alpinestars to incorporate the new forcefield airo vest that I wear underneath. It fits well but not too tight. May 21, 2015

greg m asked: Hello similar ?. I am 5.10" and 200pds. Will the 56 size be ok? Thanks Oct 20, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Brian L: I'm 5'10" as well and fluctuate between 190 to 210.
I got the size 54.

I wear the jacket with front chest armor and back armor.
This jacket is a snug fit for sure.

Remember this is the top 1/2 of their GP Tech Race Suit, so it fits like a suit vs. a jacket.

I think a 54 is the way you should go. The armor will stay in place in the event of a fall. It is snug, very snug - but good.

You'll love the jacket and it's a good price!

greg m: This is such a helpful answer. That's my weight range too. I'm guessing you have the pants or some time of similar pant. What size, if I may ask, do you recommend? Oct 21, 2015
Brian L: I actually haven't used it with pants yet.
I have a pair of Dainese Perforated ones that I recently low sided in.
They are being repaired (Heroic Racing - they're awesome) and the zipper from this jacket is being added to them. I should have them next week. Going back to your question - 52, that's a 36 and I'm usually a 35-34, with the velcro adjustments and stretch panels these pants usually give an inch or two in either direction.
Safe for the holidays, lol. Oct 21, 2015
Matt D: I'm 6'1" and weigh 190 lbs and the 54 was a perfect fit for me right out of the box. This jacket is intended to fit on the more snug side. The only area that I didn't fill out was the bicep area, sleeves also run a bit longer than usual and are better matched with gauntlets. Oct 20, 2015

Peter C asked: Hi, I am looking at this jacket for my daily use as a commuter and weekend rides (no track work), do the people who own one have any comment regarding the suitability, or otherwise, of this jacket in every day use i.e. comfort etc.? Feb 13, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
james a: I would rething your size 58. The 56 is long in the wrists and torso for me. If you're only 203lbs, the 58 will be too big and loose around your shoulders, arms, and chest. You don't want the jacket flopping and flapping in the wind on your rides. Trust me, I think the 56 will be perfect for you. The wrist is not supposed to be so long down your arm, as this jacket is supposed to be paired with Guantlets, and not supermoto or short gloves. Remember that. Revzilla does however have a very good return policy. But not sure how they work it for international orders. You will probably want to check in on that. Let me know if you have any other concerns. I know this jacket very well. Feb 19, 2014
Reply to james Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
james a: I wouldn't reccomend it as a daily commuter. It's especially cold in the winter as it vents a lot of air.

Furthermore, if you have a short neck, the speed hump reallllllly gets in the way. Jacket rides up while riding if you don't have pants to zip int them. I am 5.10 and about 235+ pounds. Very athletic build, and I wear a 56. It is tight around the biceps, shoulders, and most especially around the chest. I've got four very high end jackets and this one is my favorite if I am at the track and I am not using my one peice. It is not my favorite if I am riding to work or around the streets.

Peter C: Hi James, thanks for that. I live in the tropic north of Australia so cold weather (such as it is) only lasts for about one week of the year. The biggest reason for opting for this jacket is the ventilation and the fact that it's not black and extremely hot in the sun. I'm 6ft 2in and approx 203 lbs and was looking at a size 58, mainly for the shoulders and arm length. Feb 14, 2014
Mansour S asked: I am planning to buy this jacket but I'm concerned if my helmet Shoei RF-1100 is gonna interfere with its back hump in an annoying way. Please advise ? May 30, 2014

Allen C: I have an Arai Corsair-V right now and when I wear it with the jacket it does interfere but not by much. In a full tuck it never interferes. Only when I am literally trying to put my head up high the back of my helmet taps the hump a bit. But there is no reason I would ever need my head tilted at such a high angle, I just do it out of habit. Hope this helps. Jun 11, 2014

A shopper asked: Hi, does anyone know why this jacket is being closed out? Are they replacing it with something? It seems to be their top of the line leather sport jacket, and I'm really thinking about it, but I'd like to know if there's something else in the pipeline. Thanks! Mar 21, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Allen C: I can't tell you why it is closed out but I can tell you from experience, usually when manufacturers come out with a new model of a jacket, they don't change it by much. Most of the time it's usually new color schemes, which is what it seems like for the GP Tech Air Leather Jacket because it only has 2 color options. I bought this jacket at the MSRP and I can tell you in all honestly it is worth every penny. Everything fits exactly where it is supposed to and it's very clean. It feels so fit on my body. Makes me feel like a racer too. All the protection features definitely gives me more confidence. If it's on closeout, you can't go wrong buying it. They can't really do much with this line of the jacket anyways, other than...I don't know...add another pocket? haha It already has 5 pockets! 3 inside 2 outside. Closeout deal is a steal brother.
