Alpinestars GP Tech Air Leather Jacket
Great But the Hump needs work
Have only ridden once with this jacket.. everything works great but the hump in the back. As another rider wrote he also needed to shave off part of the hump so it wont interfere with his helmet and view. I shaved of about 1/2 and inch so that the helmet wont touch. I still haven't gone out to try if the 1/2 is good... you can reach the hump thru the inner liners (2) theres a Velcro pocket holding it in place.
Good luck but the hump is really a dragggggg.

Amazing jacket after 2 low sides 30-45mph
Amazing jacket, protection and durability are great as well as airflow, saved my butt twice. Fits a little loose. Don't skimp on price, whats losing a couple months of work and skin grafts worth to you!!????

Top Notch Astars
Finally an Astars jacket that fits as a sport jacket should, with a couple of minor exceptions:
I am 5'7" and 144lbs, 38 in chest, 30 in waist, pretty athletically built with minimal body fat. I ordered the 48 euro based on my chest measurement and it fits great as far as the chest, shoulders, and waist are concerned. I also upgraded the back pad with the bionic insert and love it. My only gripe is the forearms are just a smidge too long (1/4 inch or so), but this is inherent of most jackets for me since I am of lesser height, so I can live with it.
Air flow is amazing unless you wear a backpack, but this is true with most vented jackets. I also like that it comes with a wind-blocking liner for cooler days.
While the aero hump is a bit larger than on most jackets and does tap the rear of my helmet at times, I've determined this is a non-issue since it only happens if I really crank my neck back, as it does not affect my ability to do head checks.
I paired the jacket with Astars Track pants, and it makes a pretty comfortable two piece suit when mated together.
All in all, glad it went on clearance so I could somewhat afford to get a higher end jacket ;-)

Apex of jackets
this is definitely alpinestars best jacket
It has superior leather that's a little thicker
And smother then the average. Great ventilation
So you don't feel like dying in the heat at least
The top half lol. And bottom line it's a shame it's on closeout

Amazing track jacket
I have yet to take this jacket out on the track but just from riding along P.C.H and twisty canyons like Ortega, I can say that this jacket does it's job so well in all categories. I feel very safe for the protection it offers, which boosts my confidence in riding, and it is actually really comfortable as well. It does put you in a aggressive riding position but that's what you get out of a race/track jacket. The hump on the back doesn't mess with my helmet at all (Shoei GT-AIR). Air flow is really good too, I don't sweat or get hot when I'm moving. After wearing other similar jackets that have a cheaper price tag, I'd say that the GP Tech Air is truly worth the $899.95. You get what you paid for, enough said.

I realized this evening that I am, in now way, doing my part to assist fellow riders, as this is my first review. I am an avid, 365 (minus snow) rider, and have spent TONS of time and money on this site and it's products. As such, it only felt right to provide feedback on many of the products purchased from Zilla. I digress.
With regards to this jacket, and pretty much everything else, I take a "don't buy without reason, but when you do, do it right" kind of approach. Needless to say, this jacket and it's $$$ tag fall into that category.
Simply put, it is a wonderful product/jacket. The protection is extensive, and it feels VERY solid. The materials are truly top-notch, and I've owned other nice A-Stars jackets. When you wear it, you feel as though someone really did put time and energy into development.
With regards to fitment, the size chart did not let me down. It is a race jacket, and fits accordingly. If worn properly, don't expect a sweatshirt to fit beneath this thing. It is intended to be tight, and meets that expectation. Lastly, keep in mind that if you plan to add chest and back protection, things get a little tight. May be worth going up a size, or kicking off that New Years Resolution early. Haha.
Additional feedback goes something like this. The hump in the back isn't noticeable, unless your helmet has a Cardo system. If you do, it will likely rub a bit. Not the end of the world. The only other thing I can say is that, at least initially, the jacket forces a somewhat awkward stance. All of the protection and leather cause your elbows to kinda bow-out, so you end up looking like a jacked bodybuilder at times. Not really the most appealing of stances for a "Street Rider" such as myself, but I have survived thus far. Keep in mind though, IT IS A RACE JACKET, and was built for that purpose, not looking cool in town or at the bar.
All in all, amazing product, and I don't regret spending big bucks. It's gonna be in the stables for a while. Hope this helps.

You can buy plenty of nice jackets in the $400 range, was really contemplating the all black Jaws this Spring, but this model kept speaking to me in spite of the price. There are many features in the GP Tech Air that the other jackets do not have, particularly the grade of Armor.
The Fit (size 52 with bionic air insert) - I am 6'1", 170, 42in chest, 15in biceps, this thing fits like a glove with a bit of room around the belly - it is snug, but not painful, and thankfully the forearms are a bit longer than A-stars standard cut (cause I got long arms).
The leather is fantastic, the dye job looks great, armor fits correctly and does not move around, zippers are good, stitching appears solid, and flows air nicely. The White on Black pops big time, but manages to look 'handsome' instead of obnoxious, I am not self conscious wearing it, I think it looks incredible.
Okay, my main concern was with the guy who had problems with the hump, I can say that yes your helmet does have a stopping point but for me this was beyond my normal head extension so it has not been an issue. I do full tucks on a SS, and did a 300 mile ride last week in it, had no issues, and did not even notice the hump. I feel the hump is an assest, I swear there was a bit less turbulence and my vision was not as worn out as normal after the ride.
I understand the price seems ludicrous, but the jacket was worth it to me, I really love it, and I highly reccomend it, I don't think you will be dissapointed.
