Alpinestars GP Plus R Perforated Leather Jacket
Size 54 and 56
Hi, I'm 6'2 and 200lbs (athletic build) Size chart said I was a 54 and was too small . I returned it for a 56 and it fits perfect! The jackets is comfortable and looks great. Good ventilation for a leather jacket I live in California and it has been 100+F for the last few weeks and it is not bad.

CLOSE OH SO CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR
Man am I dissppointed ! I bought this jacket to go with my new BMW RS in blue and white and was so excited about what a good match it was for that bike.... Sadly the demon was in the details.
By that I mean the fit was off and I had allowed for it being snug and took the advice of many reviews to order one size up. That much was right as the 54 fit me ( 5'9'' / 185 / 36 Jean ) in all the important places but looking in the mirror I noticed this big void of material bunching up on the shoulders in back . That's when I noticed they had used the wrong color leather for half the sleeve . No big deal right ? Right , but then I examined the armor in the arm and shoulders and it was all so ill fitting I took the jacket apart and tried to figure out why the armor was no where near protection areas intended . The armor was the most awful looking over weight non conforming material I've seen in a jacket much less one of the Alpinstars level of quality. The whole thing began to look of outsourced workmanship or lack there of . So at the end of the day , back it went. Thinking it might be a one time goof and REALLY wanting this color way to work , I went to cycle gear and tried on a 52 and checked it out and found it was the same poor workmanship and armor placement problems that the one I got from here was . So no joke just a run of jackets from a premium company at a premium price with second rate sewing and lining . What a disappointment. I guess Dainese has spoiled me forever . Too bad they don't make much in blue color way. LOL Anyway the jacket is gorgeous and the embroidery was perfect , but fit and armor security was just not acceptable and I therefore would not recommend the jacket to anyone who might find themselves in a get off situation........

Excellent Style & Fit
Very pleased with this jacket from Alpinestars. Euro size is much better for my build. I don't generally fit well in medium or large US size. I got a 54, I'm 6'1" about 175lbs. Has a little extra room for extra layer on cold mornings if needed. This jacket flows lots of air, even here at altitude. Comfortable, stylish, and all the protection I need with added Nucleon armor.

Great Jacket!! Watch sizing!
This is a great jacket once I got a few things figured out. First, I ended up needing a jacket a size larger than what the size chart told me to order. I am 185 lbs., have a 41.5 inch chest and work out. The size chart and video review pointed me towards a size 42, but after trying on the 42 I found it way too small in the shoulders and chest for my build. The 44 fit perfectly, but the shoulders were still uncomfortable. The shoulders were fixed with replacing the A* armor with D30 armor. Now, the jacket fits well and is very comfortable to ride in. Totally happy!

I really like it!!
Its a pretty snugg fit, and thats what you want. The airflow is good, although my back still gets sweaty wich is still going to happen. I like that its has a lot of innner pockets. I went down for my first time going about 50 mph and i have no complaints at all!! It's comfortable, looks goo, and most of all it gets the job done! BUY IT!!

Excellent protection with a sporty aesthetic and decent breathablity
This jacket excels at being a higher end jacket for an affordable price and if I'm gonna ride harder, in less than optimal conditions, or just seek the beneficial protection a leather jacket offers then you can bet I'll be wearing this and will continue to for years to come.
Gauntlet gloves would probably work better with this jacket but I find it's still comfortable (though maybe a little awkward at first) with short cut gloves as well. Also you can unzip your cuffs a little for a nice breeze on your arms and with the perforations you shouldn't ever become uncomfortable while riding. That being said it still doesn't prevent me from squidding on those nice days but its tight comforting fit is available in my backpack when needed.
I would 100% recommend it if you do a lot of night or cool weather riding but if you enjoy the breeze you might find yourself a bit like me and squid a bit more often (however that might just be on our mindset preferences rather than the jacket) for that euphoria only achieved from the feeling of your flesh bonding with the environment. You might find a mesh or a textile to suit you slightly better for that nice breeze in direct correlation with your speed but you won't be overheating by any means.
My height is 5'8" and weight is 140 for reference...
Size: US 38 / EUR 48
Fit very snug at first but did not restrict my breathing and now it still fits very "fitting" but with a slightly more broken in feeling making it a perfect fit.

First and foremost, shipping to Japan for a flat-rate was absolutely awesome! It was affordable and got here within a week (international shipping date said approximately 9 days, it got here a day and half early) needless to say I was super surprised when the deliveryman knocked on my door with my package. There were extra fees but those were outside of Revzilla (customs and local delivery fees in Japan), altogether it was still cheaper to buy and ship from Revzilla. Anywhere else, shipping was insanely expensive so that helped me make my decision rather quickly.
Being a first time rider, I've only had one leather jacket before. In comparison to that Joe Rocket leather jacket, I like the race fit of the Alpinestars. Not too big of a guy, 5'7" weighing in at about 160 lbs. I have a slightly wider shoulder and chest so a size 50 (Euro) fits me perfectly though I might be able to fit into a 48. I love everything about it, every time I put it on there's a smile on my face. The styling is great, the construction is well done, materials are high quality, and I feel that it's worth every penny I paid for it and more.
The only downsides I have found about this jacket are the sleeve lengths and wrists. Having to wear a size 50, the sleeves are a bit longer than I would like but as I hear, that's a pretty common thing to have, it's either the sleeves or the chest. For the wrists, I have found that wearing a watch I have to slide my watch back a bit to fit the wrist area. I also have trouble fitting the jacket over my gloves. This is something a gauntlet type glove would probably solve in a second. Something I intend to invest in in the future.
The jacket doesn't come with CE approved chest and back armor but rather a foamy pad for each. Though both are easily replaced with the Alpinestars CE armors which I did.
Overall I recommend this to anyone who wants a great leather jacket.

I wanted to upgrade from my Joe Rocket leather/mesh jacket in order to have more protection and a more stylish jacket. The style is fantastic on this jacket. I have the blue/white version to go with my bike, and it's sharp and aggressive looking. People always compliment on it.
I wear it every time I ride. It's definitely a spring/summer/fall jacket depending on temperatures. I'll be getting the non-perforated version most likely so I can go back to more cool temp riding. That said, this jacket, while being all leather, breathes wonderfully with the perforation. Yes, it can get hot in the summer days, but I'm ok with that. I'd rather have the protection on.
The fit is snug like a sport jacket should be. I had someone at Revzilla size me in person on a trip there with my girlfriend. They were spot on. Took a little breaking in. I like that it has chest padding as well. Will most likely upgrade these in the future but a nice start being stock. I also love that this jacket has the option for the snap in back protector. Very nice option that I will take advantage of at some point.
I really can't say anything bad about his jacket. All around fantastic protection with not being the absolute top of the line with very nice upgrade options, but for it's class, it is the top of the line.
Only "bad" thing to note, is some corner stitches have popped out around the zipper, since I wear it so often.
I hope this helps anyone deciding on a higher end jacket for various reasons including protection. I highly recommend!
Also, Revzilla has as many know, fantastic and speedy customer service. They are more than happy to talk on the phone with you for however long if you have product questions like I did.
