I bought this jacket for colder weather conditions. I am from AZ where it can be very warm and cold. The jacket does ok during warm weather depending on how well you can tolerate the heat. I would not want to wear this jacket in the middle of the summer during the day. But i did wear it at night when it was still around 98-100 degrees out and it did fine. I had to open the cuffs and let the zipper down some. The jacket feels like it will last a very long time and is well worth the investment if you can save up for one. I do own a mesh jacket to wear during hotter weather.

This is a great jacket. I'm always impressed by A-Stars quality and styling. Order at least 1 size bigger if not 2. The jacket does fit quite small. Once I lose a few lbs, it will fit amazing.

the GP Plus is my second riding Jacket, and also my favorite. I got it because I was looking for a winter jacket to replace my airy first jacket and this is a great option. I have since noticed that this jacket could be used as an all year jacket in a lot of states, but will probably be to hot to be anything but a winter/fall jacket in hotter areas.
the fit is a bit tight in the chest and neck, so you may need a size up. My only complaint really is that the jacket is pretty much designed to be in a riding position most of the time, so mobility while the jacket is zipped up is quite limited. When zipped up I can really only move my arms forward and down, and as such I would not recommend this jacket for cruisers with high handlebars
I feel very safe in this jacket, it has bio-armor in all the right places and the fit ends up pretty great once you break in the armor. The leather is nice and thick, but the underarms and upper chest are well ventilated for warmer weather. All around a great design, I feel like if I wipe out the jacket might just be the only thing I don't have to replace afterward. It even has spaces in the sides to fit even more armor. You can put Kevlar in there and ride into a gun fight if you want. You might die, but the jacket will be just fine.

im 5ft6 36in chest size 48 fit great, riding at 5 degree C didnt feel cold at all, look great, ride to school and wear this around all day was quite comfy. if u want a bit more air better go for the perforate 1.

Ordered coat for son ordered 54&56 both and returned one that didnt fit. European size 54 was what chart showed fit fine just to tight around the neck.He kept the size 56 glad i order both right away last year tried ordering after Xmas and they were out of a lot of sizes. Thanks Stan

The Alpinestars' GP Plus jacket is great for colder weather riding when you need the best protection. The new bionic armor was the deciding factor when replacing my recently road tested Cortech jacket which was barely up to the 60mph task. This armor provides excellent coverage but allows the jacket to be the best fitting, most comfortable jacket I have owned. Although it is a little tight at first, it did loosen up a little after I put around 1500 miles on it. The only downsides are poor venting and excessive logos. As far as temperature is concerned, while I wish it had slightly better venting, I did buy it for colder weather. You will fry in this jacket over 85 degrees but that isn't what I bought it for anyway. Lastly, even though I have the black version, Alpinestars refuses to create anything that doesn't excessively advertise the brand. This is something I choose to overlook for the sake of comfort and protection. I like this jacket so much that I plan on replacing my still good perforated leather Cortech jacket with a Alpinestars GP-R.

I was debating between the GP-R and the GP-Plus and decided to go with the plus so I could extend my riding season more easily with a non perforated jacket. I ride during the day but commute a lot at night so I would have liked to have some reflective badges or piping.
The leather seems to be very good quality and flexible. The stretch panels are in the right place and allow for comfortable riding. The airflow is obviously not the best but this is a non perforated jacket. There is some air intake through the air stretch panels. It doesn't seem to move a lot of air but I have been riding in high 70s weather and was very comfortable. The armor in it is comfortable, moves well with your body and feels like it would do a great job in a crash. The neck is also very nice with the neoprene like material. The tail section has great coverage for your waist line.
Fit was pretty much dead on for me although I tried to go down one size originally but now I'm glad I sent it back for the right size. Revzilla was great with that and I had my refunded money the next day after a stop to UPS. (I only live 4 hours away).
The micro velcro is nice on the wrist closures and would have been nice if they would have put that on the main zipper closure flap too.
Great Jacket and quality construction for safety, comfort and style.

I would recommend taking a chest and waist measurement to more accurately determine size. Height and weight are a factor, but its best to have all your measurements before selecting your size.

I am 5'10 140lbs. The size 50/40 fits very well with some room. I would recommend the same size for you since you are a bit shorter and bigger than I am. It might fit snug but if you are worried about not being able to layer up during the winter then go one size up to the 52/42.

I currently wear an Alpinestars Stunt Leather Jacket size 52/42 (also a Dyno 52/42 Leather Jacket). From your videos, it appears that the general cut and fit of the GP Plus is the same as the Stunt.. is this correct? I would agree that these jackets would fit similarly, though I think that the GP-Plus is a slightly more aggressive posture. Keep in mind when you receive a new jacket it will fit tighter than your broken-in jacket at first.
