Alpinestars GP Plus Leather Jacket
Awesome jacket! The fact it is leather for the price of some textiles makes it with it. The leather offers nice wind protection as well.

This is a high quality piece made for cooler weather. I have only ridden with this jacket a couple times, but I can tell this is a great jacket and the sale sweetened the deal further. This is a very comfortable leather jacket! I'm 5'8" with wide shoulders and have a 41.5" chest. I usually wear a size 40 jacket and went one size bigger for this jacket and it fits perfectly. Note: There is no removable liner with this jacket.

Jacket is great, perfect for cold weather, I am from souther California, so my version of cold weather may not be the same as yours, but regardless great for the winter. Gets a bit hot in the 85+ degree weather but every jacket would. close out price was perfect, and as of protection, wouldn't know, and don't want to know.

Saying this jacket runs small is similar to saying spandex runs small, I believe it is supposed to. A sport jacket is supposed to be very form fitting to reduce air drag, and to keep all armor where it belongs.
With that said, while it is hard to use the sizing guide, I find it to be inaccurate. Per my measurements, the guide would have put me in a S or XS. I am a 6'0, 179lbs male. While I would say I am pretty fit, I haven't worn anything less than a medium-large in almost 20 years. I took a gamble and went with the 52 (large) and it fits perfectly.
It does feel a little tight on the chest, but length of torso and arms is dead on. I am attributing the tightness to leather needing to be worked in. Even after installing the back/chest protectors from A*'s has improved the comfort.

First off, I love this jacket but please note the sizing. I usually am a medium or 50 but that would not work with this jacket. Order a size up to make it fit. I am 5'8" and 180lbs and it's a perfect fit. Feels comfortable and natural in riding position. I cannot speak for airflow but lacking perforation is perfect for weather in Alaska. With that being said I wish it had a liner for cold weather but this is a sport jacket with a technical fit so it makes sense for it to not have it. For $260 this is a great deal. If you are on the fence at all buy this jacket! You won't regret it.

Great jacket with many features
Since this is an older version of this jacket, it was on clearance when I bought it, and it was a great decision. I've been using it everyday to commute to work and I love it. Make sure you use the sizing chart to measure your whole body before purchasing it, I did that and I only had to order once with no returns. You won't easily find your size by just looking at the chart since your body measurements won't match perfectly, but what I did is highlight all the numbers in the range where my measurements where, and then with those numbers highlighted, and then find an average line and that way you can find your size. Hope I explained that correctly.

I love this jacket
Wanted a solid riding jacket, as well as one for everyday use. This jacket hits that nail on the head.
Sizing- 5'7" 165lbs, longer torso, shorter legs, average arm span. Fit build. I opted for 52 Euro (I'm usually 50 euro). Check your measurements and compare to A-stars chart. 1/2 to 1 up was the trick for me. 52 is near perfect for one with a similar build/sizing, as torso length is dead on, cuffs fall just over the wrists. Mobility is excellent, especially where it counts, which is on the bike.
Quality- Leather and material quality is excellent, breaks in well. Construction is great, all seams are tight, secure, with minimal frays. Not too flashy, the logos not over the top and in right places. Black has a nice tone and color.
The protective pads are well placed, comfortable, and removable. The pads make the jacket a bit stiff for everyday use, but is tolerable.
(a bit of a fight to put the pads back into original spots within the mesh liner though, but eventually go back)
The jacket breathes well, but also remains warm in cooler riding. Excellent temperature control. Can be a bit warmer in summer heat (black, non perforated).
Cannot comment on the true functionality of this jacket, as A-stars designed this to be compatible and zipped together with other protective padding and articles of clothing, of which I currently do not use. For the riding I do, functionality is great.
Solid and protective while riding, great temperature/wind control, fits well and is comfortable on/off the streets. I love this jacket by Alpinestars.
Rating- 5+ stars

Killer leather for a good closeout price
I bought this on closeout when Revzilla still had full size-availability. Using the AStars sizing chart i pegged the exact size my first try. Nice to not have to hassle with an exchange. Being leather there is very little stretch to this jacket, so make sure you take that into consideration if you like to layer up or like a looser fit, because it is a snug sporty fit.
I love the full protection and style this jacket offers. I live in the PNW so ventilation isn't a huge issue, but I can foresee this guy getting pretty toasty in the summer. If you ride in the heat, opt for the perf version.
All-in-all a fantastic jacket that i would buy again for the closeout price. however $400 is the MSRP and i must say seems a bit high for a practically feature-less jacket, though the AStars quality is clearly evident and construction is top-notch.
