Great jacket This is my first jacket. I'm 5'6 36.5 inch chest and 24.5 inch arm length, went with a size 48 (small). Jacket fit a little tight around my chest and shoulder area after a few times of taking it off and on it loosened up and fits really well. I get a lot of looks and compliments. I fell very safe in this jacket absolutely love it and recommend it. July 18, 2014
most triumphant I was worried about shelling out that much money for something i haven't tried on yet. i'm 5'10", 190 lbs and i tried on a 58 jaws at a local dealership after i had ordered the celer (size 54). it seemed to JUST fit. i was scared. anyway, my jacket came in the mail, i put it on and it fit perfectly. Snug, which is to be expected for a race jacket, but absolutely perfect. i got size 54 pants (GP plus) and they were bang on as well. got the blak/green and feel like a superhero when i'm riding. chicks seem to totally dig it too. point is, don't worry about the fit, measure yourslef and go with the chart. don't worry about leaving extra room, just go with your actual sizes. it will work. Awesome Got my first day riding in today with this jacket. Love it! Great ventilation, comfort, and style. I have a 44" chest and got the 54. Perfect! also like the tail length as it definitely covers the top of my jeans. Love the internal pockets for around town. June 14, 2014
Great style and confort. This Jacket looks great and feels great while riding. Defiantly a sport fit but that's the fit I wanted. Keeps all the armor where it's suppose to be. Has great aerodynamics and doesn't move at all in the wind. Love this jacket. June 2, 2014
Love it! Awesome jacket. I have a size 48 2-piece motegi suit and the size 48 Celer jacket fit perfectly as well. The jacket has great styling cues and very well ventilated with zippered vents along the back and collar bones. I was able to deal with the top part of the motegi jacket in 90 degree heat last summer and i feel like the celer flows much more air. This will definitely cover a wider temperature range. I was worried about trying to find the right zipper size to mate to the jacket's 360 zipper but the Celer jacket also comes with an extra zipper you can take to your tailor to attach to pants. cool stuff ! by far this is the best purchase I made in my life! the jacket is so good that if you do not buy it you will regret it. The DFC (Dynamic Flow Control) I tried it this weekend on the road and it's insane! sentis as air passes through your body, if I left over the insurance money I bought another just in case: P Revzilla thanks for everything! u rock! The best one!! Mine was an international order. I was really happy with the service and the jacket. Was up to the mark as described, amazing looks, great features, truly worth the price and wait. March 5, 2014
Beware of A* sizing I ordered this jacket in a 52. I am 6'1'', 165lb with broad shoulders and thick arms. My arms are apparently quite long as well. The 52 was about an inch short of my wrist bone on each arm while standing off the bike. Without the chest/back protectors, I might have been able to live with the jacket but with the protection inserted, it was simply too small. After speaking with customer service they told me that A* gear all tends to run on the small side with the exception of boots -- and I couldn't agree more. The logos and markings on the jacket were a little gaudy for me (I ordered it in the most unobtrusive black color) and after seeing the jacket and trying it on, I decided to go with a size 52 dainese speed naked jacket as I was told they tend to run a little longer in the arms/etc. The 52 was definitely bigger with the dainese jacket, but I ended up exchanging for a 54. The Celer is a nice jacket, don't get me wrong. I just ordered the wrong size and it was a little too flashy for me. The arms were too short and the shoulder padding didn't sit right on my tall/lanky frame, and I've heard that A* gear is more suitable for the manlets among us. The airflow was about normal for a non-perf jacket and the speed hump was a little uncomfortable to try and sit in a chair without removing the jacket -- but it's a race jacket, not a 'sit in chair' jacket. Good luck! November 23, 2013

A shopper asked: I want to buy this jacket, as I like the style and comfort look of it, while staying protected. However, is this able to be worn in colder weather? ie, early spring, late fall weather? Sep 5, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
Brian B: Absolutely, while you will appreciate the jacket more in the warmer weather riding with the alpinestars celer leather jacket in the cooler temps is very possible. By closing the two vents located near the shoulders and the one exhaust vent located near the lower back you can retain more heat. I personally have ridden with this jacket in temperatures of around 38 degrees Fahrenheit, while it was cold the jacket was not completely unbearable. Sep 6, 2013

David A: I've had no problems with this jacket. I live in Colorado Springs and its cold here most of the year. It keeps me pretty warm, especially for the time of year you're looking at. I only where a t-shirt under the jacket. But if you're getting the perforated leather, I couldn't tell you about that one. I got the full leather. The wind pockets keep me at a good temp, so for me it doesn't get too hot. Sep 6, 2013
Reply to David Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Andres G: for sure. the jacket has zippers in the shoulder area to vent hot air during the summer amd when the cold hits just zip them up and no problems with the cold. my favorite time to wear it is in late fall so it would be perfect for that time of year Sep 10, 2013
Reply to Andres Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Dumitru Z: This is THE PERFECT Spring/Fall jacket. It doesn't have traditional perforation, so with the vents closed it retains heat well, and you can choose how open you want your ventilation to be to "fine tune" to your comfort level. Sep 6, 2013
Reply to Dumitru Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Frédéric P: I would suggest you wear some long johns below the jacket. With temperature averaging 0celcius and riding at 100kph you will definitely be cold. Overall I like the jacket, I've had it for a year now, no problem whatsoever. Sep 6, 2013

Jason D: I recently purchased this jacket and we are coming into the cooler weather here. There is no zip out lining but there are vents for the jacket. I've gone on some night rides where the temps were cooler, and I was warm. Sep 9, 2013

Shyam L: I have worn this jacket in temps as low as the mid to high 50s and never felt cold, I intend to wear it through fall in temps as low as the high 40s and I don't think it will be an issue. Sep 6, 2013

RevZilla: At this time we still haven't seen a Black/Red/Grey jacket in person and after checking with Alpinestars and doing a Google image search we haven't been able to locate a photo of the back of the Black/Red/Grey jacket. We would recommend signing up for the out of stock email notification. A shopper asked: Hi i'm interested in this produced but i'm worried I will be able to stick a backpack on? Please stop my concerns. Mar 17, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jimmy R: It depends on your bag I guess, if it can be soft enough to 'mold' onto your hump. Personally, I don't think any backpack will fit good with the back hump. There is be discomfort.

Plus, it defeats the secure purpose of the hump. If you crash down, your head won't get aligned with your spine due to the backpack. This is a sport jacket, so that should be used as such and not meant for a every day commute.

Backpacks are generally a no-no even with a jacket with no humps. The extra weight on your back could make you some extra rolls when you fall down with some bumpy jumps. I am guilty of wearing one sometimes (with some other jacket) but this year's resolution list included to get a tail bag for my motorcycle instead. More secure, more space, more enjoyable, etc..

Sorry I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but think of your security first, it's way more important!

David A: I do not recommend this jacket if you plan on wearing a backpack for most of your rides or any ride. The race hump on the back of the jacket will get in the way and makes it uncomfortable with a backpack, plus you'll have helmet issues with backpack pushing up in the helmet. The race hump is the biggest factor when wearing a backpack. Not made for backpacks! You could take the hump out, but defeats the purpose of the jacket. Mar 18, 2014

James S: I have this jacket and love it. You can wear a backpack with it as well. I does ride on the race hump somewhat but if you have the pack adjusted correctly, it's not a problem. Mar 18, 2014

Jim L: You can wear a backpack no problem. It will feel a little funny at first, but you'll get used to it. I've had the jacket for a year and use a north face backpack no problem Mar 18, 2014

A S asked: I am about to purchase this jacket except for one thing, i am a size 38 usa but my arm lenght is between large and xlarge. Will the sleeves be suppppper short on me? I do not want sleeves shorter than my wrists!! Jan 16, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jimmy R: Chances are that the sleeves will be too short for you. I got a size 40 and the sleeves are just fine, but if I had longer arms, that would be too short.

Try the jacket in a shop if you can. If they don't have your size, still compare the arms length. That said, the sizing chart provided on revzilla for this product did a good job for me. If you are uncomfortable with the sizes on the chart, and you try to squeeze it too much in the hope of getting this jacket, step back a bit.

Hope that helps!

Shyam L: I typically have the same issues with sleeve length, 5'10" tall and originally purchased a 40 even though my usual size is 38. Sleeves were too short so I bumped up to a 42, still not quite long enough. I am able to supplement by wearing a long wristband that covers the end of the sleeve to the bottom of my palm but I will probably have the sleeves lengthened professionally. Jan 16, 2014
Reply to Shyam Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Eric M: Where are you? all depends on that.. I personally would NOT do short. just coz u will be exposed.

If you rider any temp under 45' get a size bigger. I am from WA and its pretty cold and trying to layer dont help.

Yes. I'm afraid the sole solution to the problem I share with you is to wear gloves with gauntlets or a custom jacket.

A shopper asked: Is this the same fit as the GP PRO one? I'm a 43'' chest, 41'' waist and I wear a 56 GP pro jacket. Should I get a 56 in this one?

Thanks!
Oct 14, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
David M: I have a 42" chest and a 32" waist, and I have a size 54 Celer. It fits perfectly with the addition of the bionic chest pad inserts and bionic air back protector. If you're not going to use the chest/back protector, a 54 might work without being too snug. If you're going to add extra protection, definitely go with a 56. Oct 14, 2013

Jim L: I have a 42 inch chest, 40 inch waist and I got a 54. Hope this helps! Oct 14, 2013

Jason D: I didn't have the GP Pro one. I had an Icon jacket before this that the zipper decided to have a mind of it's own. Flying down the back roads the bottom opened up one day...not fun!
Anyway...

I am a 44" reg and a 38 inch waist and I got the 56 and it fits good around the chest - a bit tight but I prefer that - and there are side Velcro bits that will tighten it around your waist. Went on a 1200 mile ride and the jacket was great. Chilly mornings and it kept me warm. The bubble on the back keeps your head from moving all around. I really enjoy the jacket.

Adam G asked: Is this overkill for street riding? I like this jacket for the protection, venting and mostly the reflectivity. I mean I love MotoGP, but I'm no track star. Just a guy out for a ride or going to work. Those of you who purchased the jacket, are you mainly track riders? May 31, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Nathan B: I am an average street rider in the hills of Tn. and this jacket has served me incredibly well for the last 6 months. Was a little chilly in late winter early spring even with an underliner, but bearable. Once the temps hit upper 40s to low 60s, it was perfect. Fit and styling are incredible, super comfortable and I feel that if I do drop to the pavement, I'll be as protected as I can be in that situation. Now that we are in the mid 80s, I was worried about overheating, but with all the vents open and a tank top underneath, I'm actually cool, not even sweating. And did I mention the styling?? I love this jacket. Watch the video and use the fitting guide. I returned my first one (52) because I didn't take the advise from the video and ended up reordering the exact size (54) that they recommended for my build. ( painless procedure by the way) revzilla is great!

David A: Yeah I love motogp too! I'm both track and street, and I've worn this jacket for both. I bought the jacket for the same reasons just about. It's a good jacket to ride around in even if your not a track guy. It does get a little hot in the summer when your sitting still at a light (Colorado Springs). It does give you a race feel and it will pre curve your body into a race position. If you like to relax more, maybe a less aggressive jacket might be for you. Also if you wear a backpack on your rides, the race hump gets in the way and gives you some problems. May 31, 2014

Khoi V: It's overkill for street riding but you will look cool lol. I use it with track leather pants for track days and I love it. Save my right shoulder during a lowside that slid me 20 feet on asphalt. May 31, 2014

Adalberto b: Sorry dude measurements don't mean anything to me. Your best bet is to go to a local bike shop and try it on and hop on a showroom bike. I wear wear mediums in shirts and I love everything fitted. I have an athletic shape so I bought the 54. I then ordered it on revzilla cause it's fast shipping and there was no need to return it since I tried it on already. Just make sure u try on any alpinestars leather and not another brand. Hope this helps you. May 29, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
David M: The Alpinestars Bioarmor back protector can be used in place of the included foam pad, as can the Alpinestars Bionic Air Back Protector Insert - just unzip, undo the velcro and replace the pad. I use the Alpinestars Bionic Race Back Protector, and the Celer jacket has three snaps to secure that back protector to the jacket. As far as chest protectors go, I bought the Alpinestars Bionic Chest Pads, which fit this jacket's chest compartments perfectly. Apr 13, 2014

David M: It does have a pretty aggressive fit, I wear size 40 and it is very form fitting, I would say just right when it is broken in. This jack also has pre-curved arms, which makes it perfect for an aggressive riding position. Never wore the Jaws jacket. I would say this jacket would make a great part of a 2 piece suit for track days. Dec 28, 2013

Bobby A: I don't own a Jaws jacket. But this is very aggressive. It is very snug. I normally wear a 52 and this fit a hit more snug that usual. It still fit. It also keeps you in a tucked in a very sorry position. I hope this helps.

I tried on a Dainese and Alpinestars jacket. 52 fits my chest and waist very well, but the arm length is just too short. I was wonderinf it this jackets arm length is shorter or longer than most alpinestars? Oct 30, 2013

Sarah C: I was given this jacket as a gift. I received a US size 48. I am 6'2" and have a pretty long arm. The jacket actually fits me very well. I do have to tighten the side adjustments to keep the jacket from being loose in the mid section.

I did had Spidi jacket before this one but lost it in a fire. I thought that i would try the Alpine Star this time and found that it is just as durable feeling for the safety(luckly haven't had to test it for that). The jacket though is more comfortable to wear and the arm length does go all the way down to the wrist and the gloves i have cover the end of the jacket perfectly.

I would recommend this jacket to anyone.

Shyam L: Arm length is a little shorter than I expected, I originally purchased a 50 but had to bump up to a 52 just because of the sleeve length. I like the jacket overall and am willing to overlook the issue but if I had to do it again I might reconsider the purchase. Oct 30, 2013

David A: They run a little longer on the arms. I have a couple of dainese jackets and those jackets have a slim fit for me, but my alpine fits good on the chest and waist runs a bit longer in the arms. Nov 1, 2013

robert s: I have three different styles of Alpinestars including this jacket. I wear a 58 and the sleeves on the Celer were the same length 34" which is just past the break in my wrist. Oct 30, 2013

A shopper asked: Does this jacket have belt loop to hold it down when you are wearing it with jeans? Mar 25, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
valcan222: No this jacket does not, it does however have a Long. Back section that will not ride up as well as provide you with a 360 zipper that will allow you to attach it to alpinestar pants or other pants of you attach the opposite side of the zipper to. May 13, 2013

Oaks: The jacket has a zipper in the rear to accommodate pants (I have a pair of overpants which will zip to it.) However, it doesn't offer any kind of other restraint system to attach to other clothing. Mar 26, 2013

RevZilla: The Alpinestars Celer Leather Jacket does not have a belt loop attachment. For peace of mind, this attachment is more or less useless as it will not hold up in the event of a crash. Mar 26, 2013

David S asked: I've been looking for a good leather jacket that has a good tight fit to it. The only problem is that i weigh about 115 pounds and have about a 32-34 inch chest. I've noticed the smallest most jackets come in is a 48 eurofit (which is about a 38 in american fit i believe) and those fit me baggy. Should I resort to women's jackets instead? i"m also about 6 feet tall. Feb 25, 2014

Robert N: This jacket fits me tight. I am a "big guy" though. It runs tight anyway. It also has the availability to replace the chest and back protection with harder stiffer protection. This upgraded protection can take up more space in the jacket making it tighter. Good luck.. Feb 25, 2014

Owen O: Get the biggest back protector you can to take up the extra space. Maybe try the forcefield sub 4. Feb 25, 2014

Ed V asked: I have a size 56 GP-R jacket. Would I also take a 56 in this jacket? My assumption is yes, but I wanted to double-check. Sep 20, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Bobby A: I would think it does. I don't have a GP-R but I have the Celer and 2 other A-stars jackets and I wear 52 in all of them. I think they are very consistent. However I've noticed that the celer is more snug that other A-stars. It is super super aggressive. It holds your arms bent and almost wants to put you in a tucked position. Sep 20, 2013

Zachary M: I don't know how well it'll work for you, but I know mine pretty much fit exactly to what it says it does. Maybe even just a hair tight. So it depends on how you want it to fit. But it is an excellent jacket!!! You won't be disappointed! Sep 20, 2013

gregv: I don't have any experience with the Jaws jacket, but I bought the Celer in black and it did an phenomenal job at keeping me from perspiring excessively when it got well above 90¬?F here in AZ. You'll be very impressed with this jacket and how well it does keep you stay cool. You will not be disappointed. Apr 27, 2013

A shopper asked: Is there a CE-Level 2 back insert available for the Celer? May 14, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
David M: I have the Alpinestars Bionic Race Back Protector. The Celer features three snaps to attach the back protector based on your height. The Bionic isn't an insert, but since the snaps hold it in place when you remove the jacket, it's a great option. The two inserts I've found - the Bio Armor and Bionic Air - are only certified CE Level 1, and I believe all back protector inserts are only able to achieve Level 1 certification because they don't have shoulder or waist straps to hold them securely to the body. Adam G: Pretty sure that Forcefield makes a CE Level 2 back protector insert. However, I have seen on their site state about some of their protection that the inserts are CE2 at low temps and CE1 at high temps. I think that was for the shoulder and elbow replacements, but not sure.

A shopper asked: Does it matter if you have say a Medium Jacket and Large pants? Will they still zip up together without any problems? Jan 23, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Oaks: The size is irrelevant. The significant factor is going to be the type of zipper used in either piece of equipment. I bought a jacket and pants from Joe Rocket, but each had a different style zipper. Thankfully, both included each side of the zipper, so I was able to take it to a seamstress and have one changed out so I could mate my jacket with the pants. Mar 26, 2013

A shopper asked: What size bionic race back protector should I get for my Celer size 52/42? I think it's large, but all of the bionic inserts in my other A* size 52 jackets are mediums. Help! Aug 2, 2014

A shopper asked: I have long arms and a slim body (6'1" - 165lbs) so jackets typically don't fit me well in the arms when the body fits snug. Is there a chance that I could get this jacket with longer sleves?

Kind regards,
kyle
