Arctiva Polartec Balaclava
to short and to tight
This was purchased with a complete Klim winter riding gear set up. I am fairly average in sizing and it was far to tight and very short. It does not allow the bottom to be pulled down under the jaw. It crated great difficulty breathing. I put it in in a gas station during the ride and did not make it out if the parking lot before removing.

I've had it for a few months now and it still performs well. I have ridden it down to 38 degrees at highway speed and it kept my face warm and toasty. can't beat it for the price.

I tried this out the first day at 33 degrees on my way to work. I have about a 15 mile ride and was very comfortable. It seems well made and fits great. Keeping the cold air off of my throat and neck made all the difference in the world.

Considering the other offerings & their prices, this balaclava is an excellent budget item. Shortcomings are it's a bit short (but long enough, just not any extra to tuck) & it is a bit snug. It protects well---I've ridden in near-freezing weather & the only part of my head that was cold were my eyes & the top of my nose~
The fleece feels sturdy & thick, also very soft. Comfy & toasty warm!

This is a little loose on my head, I wear a small helmet, but it doesnt get moved when I put my helmet on so it serves its purpose. Keeps your head and neck pretty warm with no lines down the forehead. I just wish it were a little longer and tighter on my head, but for the price you cant beat it.

Good insulation and fit
I have used this to commute to work in the Fall/Winter. It seems to be working just fine. I have been cruising at 30-40 deg F anywhere between 1mph-75mph; 40- mph on the daily commute. The bottom portion is a bit short, but will just barely fit under your jacket.

Like the material, cost. Too short down the neck. It comes out from my jacket if I move my head too far allowing for cold air to come in. But, for the $ it is good.
