Klim Covert Balaclava
Good but not for really cold weather
The neck opening is a little tight at first but relaxes a bit after you use it. I had hoped that this would be all I needed to wear in MT cold weather, but not the case. Any time the temp is 40 F or under, I have to put an additional fleece balaclava underneath it (wear a full face helmet). The wind protection is excellent, but I wish the material was thicker. The flat seams are great and took care of the pain/indentions caused by cheap balaclavas, especially around the eyes. The back of the neck is not windproof but that does not seem to bother me. It is a little cooler, but it does not send a chill down my back or make it cold. My jacket has a button up collar (priest/european style) and I have no real issues. As long as temps are above 40+ F this will be fine. Below that you will need additional protection. I do like the fit.

Sweet looking and good fit inside helmet, but has a few flaws...
This thing looks great and fits perfect... it has a very forming fit and will fit inside your helmet well without trying to move. However, the elastic back that makes it fit so well also lets in a chill on the back of your neck, also, there is plenty of material to tuck in for the front and rear but the sides will come untucked from turning your head. A little more material could have been used there. I will have to say, I'm a little disapointed in that I just thought it would be a little warmer. I bought this looking for something to comute back and forth down the highway to and from work down to 30 degrees or so... I have to wear a Patagonia neck gator with it to be warm enough and keep the air out, it solves the problems and keeps me toasty, but I was hoping this would be all that i needed.. If I had it to do again, I'd probably go shopping for a descent fleece style mask from one of the ski shops.

This is a great product. The only problem is that the material that the back is made from is very breathable. This means that in cold weather, the cold air goes down the back of the jacket and cold air and wind hits your neck. This is very cold problem with this product. other than that, it is a good product. For the price, it seems like I could have done better.

No neck wind stopper fabric.
I don't get it. Why would you put the stretch fabric at the back of the neck? I think most helmets have a weak draft point at the back of the neck. This balaclava lets a draft in over the back of my neck. Put a "Windstopper" panel down the neck section in back to prevent the wind from coming up your back over the collar of your jacket and up your neck into the helmet. Perhaps even put a roll of fabric were the base of the helmet would stop around the neck, now that's a wind stopper. I'm riding a 2000 Voyager with a Tourmaster jacket and a Nolan modular helmet.

I was able to free my head from this
One size fit some. Stuffed head inside of product. Product deviated septum and caused brief moment of panic. Before I passed out, I noticed how great this looked on me. I wish I was normal so I could wear one these. I will return this for something similar that will fit a larger human skull. 5'11", 220lbs, 7.5 hat size, L to XL helmet size.

Kept me warm on a 1200 mile ride in late November. Started to feel a bit of a cool breeze around 40F at 80MPH. Any more and I would need to add something else. Comfortable fit and I'm happy with the product. I would buy it again if needed.
