Tryonic See+ Back Protector

Compared to the Feel 3.7, the Tryonic See+ Back Protector offers a slightly lower impact value (7,7kN), yet still clearly within the CE Level 2 norm (EN1621-2) but at reduced weight and using a thinner outer shell, thus offering a perfect alternative for those enthusiasts out there preferring lower weight over higher impact values. The See+ weighs only 660 grams (average) yet offers an unsurpassed combination between ergonomic design, comfort and high performance shock absorption. The EPS inner core ensures high level energy absorption (7,7 kN energy release). Another unique feature is the adjustable belt closure (T.C.F. –Tryonic Custom Fit), ensuring a perfect for every rider. As the See+ has been tested for winter sports, down to minus 20 degrees Celsius without performance loss, it is the perfect choice for a variety of winter sports athletes as well.

  • Outer shell in polyamide fabric surrounded by thermoformed padding
  • Polypropylene outer shell
  • EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) inner core
  • CE Level 2 (7,7kN) – EN 1621-2 standard

SAVED my spine/backside and most importantly, my life
when i first bought this, i was thinking that it will probably never come to use unless the bike flip endos onto my back. how often will u fly into a pole backwards right? well a week ago i locked up and crashed rolling and tumbling down a steep hill with no leathers; just helmet, gloves, and this Tryonic. i completely snapped my collar bone in the fall then an oncoming car doing 40mph slammed into my spine as i was rolling. this amazing contraption Tryonic put together saved me from total paralysis or possible death. it did its job 110%, the inside polystyrene did shatter as its suppose to. i cannot thank revzilla enough for its good price that enticed me to purchase this. i loved the look so much that i wouldnt wear my gear so i can just have this fully exposed and showing, which was my mistake. i normally wear this under my dianese one peice and its awesome. only thing that bugs me is that the plastic strap adjuster digs into my shoulder while wearing my tight fit race suit, but thats only because racesuits are suppose to have non-strap protectors. out of all my gear, this back protector is definately my favorite. its the only device that will save you from death besides a helmet. its a MUST HAVE, so get on it!!

A great all-around level-2 BP w/ multiple applications
My only experience of back protectors are limited to my first one I got, Forcefield Sub-4, exclusive for track use. So I will mainly be comparing The Tryonic SEE+ to that.

Finally decided to replace all those level-1 "back protector" that came with my jackets for street use. I was looking for something light, with a slim profile and level-2 certified and the SEE+ seems to met all my criteria well. First thing I noticed about the SEE+ is how light it is and how the articulated design moves with my body well; Especially compare to my Sub-4 and because of that, the SEE+'s harness can be and is much more snug and form fitting. The harness is very well designed and provide lots of adjustability.

The hard-shell design works best if you are the kind of rider that wore back-protectors without a jacket (tsk-tsk). It provided some added puncture resistance and slide-ability but the trade off is being a hard-shell BP, it usually meant it is crash-and-trash kind of gear; in addition the gaps between the articulated parts might get caught on stuff when you are sliding on your back wondering "did that car just cut me off?" or "I knew I shouldn't be pushing it so hard on my out lap". Hey, but at least you don't have to feel and look like you are wearing a rubber floor mat on your back. (cough *Forcefield* cough).

While the level-2 rated at 7.7Kn might not be as low as the Forcefield Sub-4 or the FEEL 3.7, but it will be far superior than 99% of the stuff that came with your jacket. The low temp rating with be a feature that is unique to this line.

I think for the price of $150, it is a great product and provide some added insure to protect yourself from drivers that are "sharing" the road with you......ALL OF THEM.

Cliff notes:
- light and move with your body.
- form fitting, great harness.
- Does not feel like wearing a rubber floor mat.
- hard-shell construction = crash-and-trash.
- Take a look at Forcefield Sub-4 or Tryonic FEEL 3.7 for better Level-2 rating.

Best protection for Buck!
Finish is top notch, and for a level 2 CE rated, you can't get a better product!

Also the way the straps are way more comfortable than alpinestars bio armor or the dainese that I've tired.

Do consider that is around an 1" in thickness.

Awesome Product at a Steal
Okay first a little background. I like to research everything I buy. Its reviews and price that are my biggest decision maker. The product had both! I searched through all of the back protectors on this site and read reviews.

I was initially going to go with a Dainese Manis back protector. But I pulled the trigger on this product instead and I am glad I did. It is a CE level II rated back protector for 100 bucks! One cannot argue with that!

I wear this under a two piece Dainese Laguna Seca Race suit. My race suit is a size 52. I am 5'11 180 pounds and it fits as if it was tailored to me. I was worried that I would not be able to fit this back protector in it; however this back protector is so thin that I can wear it with my race suit.

The product is very adjustable to fine tune it to have it right where you want it.

I am glad I purchased this product and highly recommend it to anyone who is on the fence of purchasing this.

Couldn't be happier
The pocket for a back protector insert on the jacket I own is very small, and the available CE-rated armor option was dismal. I had no choice but to go with a dedicated spine protector, and in the end I am glad I did. This protects so much better than the jacket inserts IMO. It's larger than what you'd get in a jacket, going all the way down to the base of the spine. I don't exaggerate when I say I don't even notice it when I ride. Highly recommended.

First time using a back protector. Buy this first, get the fit perfect then buy your track suit around it. Takes some getting use to getting in on with a suit but once on its on. Solid but flexible!!. Breathes well but could use a bit more air flow. In the tuck this thing rocks, it flexes with you and after a few corners becomes part of you. Love the exoskeleton look.

Best entry CE level 2 back protector
The level of technical features are excellent, this results in a low profile CE level 2 back protector that fits under jackets very well while affording a high degree of impact protection. Lightwieght and highly ergonomic, the comfort is so good i wear it skiing all of the time and barely notice it. Straps are very adjustable making it easy to find the perfect fit.

Really Nice Spine Armor
After a few low-speed getoffs early on in my riding days, I definitely became a strong proponent of ATGATT, and this back protector fulfills my expectations of an accessory that fits that acronym.

I used to ride with a CE2 armor pad inside the back-side pocket in my jacket, but I'm a tall rider, and the pad covered maybe 40% of my back. After seeing how long this particular piece of armor was, I decided to give it a try, and I'm very satisfied.

The adjustable shoulder straps and multiple-section, adjustable velcro waist band let me fit it perfectly to my torso over an undersuit before I put on my leathers, and the armor extends all the way from the nape of my neck to my tailbone—the previous armor pad I wore went just from between my shoulders to the small of my back.

I haven't gone down while wearing it (yet—and I hope not to), but I definitely feel more protected as this armor covers the entirety of my spine. Riding without it, I actually feel kinda naked now!

Excellent adjustments for accurate fitment
The shoulder and waist adjustment allows this back protector to fit up exactly where you want it to be. It will stay in place while being comfortable. Good design to have the shoulder straps connect to the back and not the waist.

Once in place, the protector is flexible and moves with you.
I don't notice it there when riding, allowing me to concentrate on riding the motorcycle.

Inexpensive but exceeds the threshold of protection I need
Justin M on Jul 16, 2016
The foam padding offered in my riding jackets is just that, padding. If I go down I want to increase the odds I'll be walking away or soon thereafter. The Tryonic Feel 3.7 looks great and offers better protection, but this will fit under my jackets and still provides level 2 CE protection.

The overall look was what initially attracted me. After having wrecked on the track while wearing this, I must say this product did it's job. For being a relatively bouncy low side, I didn't feel much of the impact. Definitely a good product.

My spine seems to work pretty well - I'd like to keep it that way.

Looked to be a great replacement item for my back. The jacket I purchased came with its own CE armor insert, however I (now) much prefer this spine protector. Turns out that this was a great buy. Still using it, today. 5/28/2015

I'm 6'3" / 190cm, upper and lower body in proportion...86kg / 190lbs. Should I get the L or XL? The XL isn't in the size chart by the way. Wearing it under a sz 54 Dainese jacket, mainly commuting / sport riding.
Peter T on Nov 1, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Hey bro. I'm 184cm 190lbs. Built structure. I got the medium from revzilla and it fits perfect. I'd guess you should get the large as you wouldn't want the tail of the protector dropping too low. It's a great product. Fit and comfort. Also it makes me feel a lot safer mentally at higher speeds. Never truly tested it on the pavement and don't intend too brother.

Cheers to a great product. Hope this helps.
Is this considered a "hard shell" back protector, or is it more of the flexible type of out material such as the forcefield insets just in a different shape?
Marcus B on Oct 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is definitely a hard shell but I found it considerably more comfortable than the forcefield. If you watch the video you can see how it conforms very nicely to the the back. I've used mine on nearly a daily basis for the past year
My white straps got super dirty. Like a dark brown. How do I clean these?
Its brown from a dust storm

Hi Guys,

I'm a 250, pound 5'10, 53inch chest.

I'm wondering if I should i purchase this; back protector, or the 3.7?

My main question for you is;

Q; Does this back protector cover the lower, lower end of the back. like the (tail bone area)?

I'm Searching, looking, for a back protector that covers the tail bone area.

leave your thoughts.

cheers!

BEST ANSWER: Hey bro. I have the See+ back protector and it's an amazing product. I wear under my dainese Aspide jacket and it makes me feel a lot more protected.

I am 5' 10" 200lbs and it does cover my tail bone. In the tuck position it does stick out the base of my jacket covering my tail bone.

Thank god I haven't had it's integrity tested.
Hope this helps.

Cheers
How does it's thickness compare to the Spidi Warrior EVO back protector? Is it lower profile than the SPIDI one? Thanks
Eugene S on Mar 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Don't know about the spidi but the trionic is pretty streamlined without feeling too thin to be useful. Fits under my jacket without showing at all. I like the product overall. Coverage will depend on your height though. I'm 5'10" and the coverage is just about right.
Hi, I am actually looking at using this armor for snowboarding as a precaution due to previous back injury.
I'm looking at the see+ and the Feel 3.7 and other than width, I can't really see much difference.
I am trying to find out what would be the better choice for these two items.
Also, what is your return policy?
A shopper on Sep 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Both are rated for cold Weather temps and sports. I have the See+ for motorcycle racing and if feels great. It also fits very well and moves with under a snug race suit. Since you have a previous injury I would lean towards the 3.7 since it is wider since it would offer more protection coverage area for you. As long as its new, tags in tact and not used, Revzilla will accept it back. I had a large when a medium was needed and they took care of me. Enjoy
