REVIT Seesoft Back Protector Insert

The revolutionary new REVIT See Soft CE-Level 2 back protector is designed to absorb multiple impacts without compromising on comfort, ventilation or freedom of movement. The highly impact-resistant blend of Nitrille and Polynorbornene rubber results in a memory foam that is multi-impact rated and CE Certified to the highest level of prEN 1621-2:2010 level 2.

In the case of severe angular impact, the individual Memory Foam layers will shift relative to one another, resulting in impact dispersion over a larger effective surface area and therefore minimizing the energy that is transmitted to the spine and back. The Seesoft back protector performs extremely consistently in all weather conditions and is unaffected by temperature ranges from -4° F to +104° F (-20° C to +40° C).

Most REV'IT jackets are designed to accommodate a Seesoft CE Level 2 back protector insert. Newer jackets will have a marking on the protector pocket that indicates the matching type and size of the protector.

Comfortable back piece I purchased the RV size 5 insert of my XXL Sand 2 jacket. First of all, you should always upgrade the back protection in your jacket. I have yet to find a jacket that actually comes with real back armor. The seesoft back protector earns it's name. This is the most flexible CE-Level 2 rated armor I've ever seen. The flexibility coupled with the light weight and form factor of the RV cut makes this the most comfortable I've ever owned. I feel this new style of protector is a step forward and believe it puts Rev'it at the head of the pack when it comes to back protectors. May 9, 2013

Do you know when it is going to be available? At least briefly?

Also, though this might be the same question as below, I would like to know how this new product will perform

compared to Sas-tec back armour. In terms of specifiction, does this have the same coverage? (in case of Sas-tec type)

And are there any more news from rev'it? (Rev'it should have some comparison data for marketing purpose.)

I read your explanation that this product has better ventilation and lighter weight but how about

impact resistance? Is this also prone to break in cold weather like Sas-tec?

Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

The Seesoft back protector is a very exciting product coming from REV'IT in the Spring of 2013. The back insert was designed with the help of Tryonic, the same company that makes the Feel 3.7 race back protectors. The Seesoft insert will be available in a few different sizes and shapes. They are offering a ST shape (which stands for Sas-Tec), a KN shape (which stands for Knox), as well as the new RV shapes which will correspond with the new 2013 REV'IT! jackets. Comparing the Seesoft ST-12 to the Sas-Tec SC-12, the shape and coverage is going to be the same and both inserts are also CE Level 2 certified for impact protection.

Some advantages to the Seesoft is that it will not become as stiff as the Sas-Tec in lower temperatures and it also weighs less. The Seesoft should also provide better air flow than the Sas-Tec, which makes it an ideal option for hot weather riding. Additionally, because of the multi-layer design the Seesoft is better equipped to deal with indirect impacts. Per REV'IT! "In the case of severe angular impact, the individual Memory Foam layers will shift relative to one another, resulting in impact dispersion over a larger effective surface area and therefore minimizing the energy that is transmitted to the spine and back."

SIZING INSTRUCTIONS

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. REV'IT! sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

Chestwidth: Measure from under/top of armpit cross chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
