Thor Impact Rig Armored Shirt
Saved me on a highway crash
I bought this armor shirt for summer riding because leathers in 100 degree weather was not working for me. I ultimately chose it because it had a single chest piece and I liked the overall look of it.
I high sided on the highway when my rear brake locked and I spilled off. I was going probably 50 MPH when I started braking and was probably going 20 MPH when I fell off. First impact was on the left side of my head, left forearm, and then I rolled quickly.
As for my armor post accident, my left glove was shredded, the arm & both shoulders were were scraped up pretty bad, and I had a few scrapes on the back of the armor. My body had a few bruises and scrapes underneath but nothing bad. The only sustained injury I got was from a bump I took on my left knee. (I was going to buy norsorex pants but hadn't. You can guess what my first purchase was when I went to buy armor again.)
Had I not worn the armor shirt my left arm would have been decimated. That $150 saved me from a lot of bad scarring. I thought about getting the Leatt 3DF but since it has no abrasion protection, I opted to purchase this armor shirt again.

Better than the cheaper Fox rig
This rig is very comfortable to wear and has good protection for low speed and off-road riding.
The mesh is soft and flows a lot of air. The chest piece is not separated on your sternum by a zipper like some other rigs, it's a single piece.
I had a crash on dirt where I landed hard on my elbow, shoulder, and knee. I was wearing this rig, but no armor on my knees. I experienced no pain on my arm or upper body afterwards, but my knee was severely bruised and had a good deal of pain. Two weeks later my knee is still tender to the touch and my upper body is still fine.
I was also very impressed that the crash did not crack the rig or damage the mesh.
I think this offers good protection without adding too much bulk. The rig fits snugly under my jacket and doesn't restrict my movements in any noticeable way.

Great... but you get what you pay for
I am 155lbs and the S/M fits perfect.
The zipper problem everyone keeps talking about hasn't happened with me, but you can use safety pins to fix that either way.
The only issue I have with it is the stitching isn't that good. Im already starting to get a tear in the shoulder area. So its clear that the quality could use some work.
Protection- Best Ive seen so far for this type of armor. I feel great wearing it, like I can actually take a hit and get up with no problem. Havent tried it yet, but its good to know I can if needed.

The Zippers are a problem.
I didn't even want to ride with this on. Within 5 minutes of having this on (at home), all the zippers would not stay up. They all would slowly unzip two to three inches. Also, I was hoping it was more ventilated then it was. Its a tight mesh. Its not a bad product, just a few issues. The protection and style is fine.

Wow when I put this on I felt bulletproof. Which I know I'm not. My kid said all I need is a cape and I'd look like batman. Great protection and just wearing it gave me a sense of confidence. Fit perfect under my size large klim Mojave pro shirt. Now I'm ready to wipe ou on the trails. :). Ugh!

Fits a wide range, no comfort issues, and worked when needed.
I bought one rig for my son and one for me. The LG/XL fit us both 160Lbs / 230lbs. We rode our adventure bikes for 5 days wearing these and moto jersies in hot weather and they were very comfortable. We did safety pin the kidney belts zippers to keep them from coming undone. I went down relatively hard on packed dirt and was glad for the back protector and shoulder armor . Tore up my jersy, but the Thor rig was no worse for wear. Our last day was 12 hours, 500 plus miles and we barely remember we were wearing these. My son plans on wearing his snowboarding this winter.
