Very comfortable; Very secure; Looks awesome; I am 178lb, 5'10'' and I love this vest! Everything about it is awesome. I never have to adjust it because it is very comfortable. The strap feature feels very secure so I do not see it coming undone in case of the worse. The style of it is awesome and I get comments on it all the time. It just looks great and feels great. The money was definitely worth it. July 14, 2014
Great lightweight protection I have a tendency to ride without jacket protection in the summer because of the heat. I know it's bad but I do it anyway. I bought this because I figured if it wasn't too hot with it on, then maybe I'd have some protection at least. I think it works great. I stay pretty cool and the only place I notice a little extra head is my spine, but it's not bad at all. The vest appears very sturdy and though I haven't gone down with it, I think it would protect well. It also looks great and I get a lot of compliments. I bought a size larger because I didn't want it to be tiny on me, and it ended up a little big. I'd say that it probably runs true to size or maybe a little bigger. But even the size I have still fits nicely with only a Tshirt when I bring it to the smallest setting. I can also make it a bit bigger if I want to wear it over my motorcycle jacket or another jacket. One of the only negatives I found was that wearing a full backpack with it on can feel very bulky. I have done it without problems, but carrying a backpack with a 17" laptop make you feel like a dinosaur walking around. And the backpack straps don't fit nicely over the vest straps. But I don't think this is a reason not to buy - I still wear the vest and bring my backpack on my daily work commute. July 11, 2014
Great bang for your buck I'm 5"10 175 pounds and I purchased the S/M size and I want to say overall it fits good it goes all the way down my spine however I wish it would go a little more past the belly area. The vest is adjustable from the waist and shoulder area. As far as quality goes it does have a nice sturdy feel to it. It looks cool and does not effect mobility very much. July 7, 2014
Great vest! I bought this specifically for the chest protection. It fits great under a motorcycle jacket as well as any other loose fitting jacket. I also purchased the forearm and elbow guards. It's nice to wear when it's too hot to have a mesh jacket on. It fits great and very easily adjustable. July 1, 2014
A good buy. Vest fits real nice. doesn't bind or rub at all. It is much less bulky than it seems like it would be. Flows a ton of air on 90 day in NC. Easy to get in and out of and easy to adjust. It doesn't get any faster than RevZillas shipping. June 26, 2014
Good Vest if Your Jacket Doesn't Have Back Protection I wear this vest under my Alpinestars GP-Plus R jacket (Size 56). I got the vest before the jacket, but in retrospect I would've just gotten the CE-rated Alpinestars additions for the jacket. I'm 6' tall,180 pounds with an athletic build and I wear L/XL. It's got quite a bit of adjustability if you're in the L-XL range. I wish there were something better than velcro involved in the straps for a lot of the biking gear, I feel like it could easily be ripped off in a tumble. Overall, the Stryker's straps seem sturdy--especially when I wear my jacket over the vest. Awesome stealthy look, lightweight, comfortable and protective. All I think it needs is a bigger chest area. June 23, 2014
not what i expected when i first got it i was surprised at the looks, its a little kiddie looking for my taste, but at the same time its cool. i think the chest protector is a little small but the back brace looks and feels sturdy enough. no shoulder protection. it is very light and can hardly tell you are wearing it. if it does what it supposed to in an emergency situation then i think its definitely worth the money. June 23, 2014
Great back protection, with an odd fit The back protection in this seems to be super sturdy. There is also some good protection in the center of the chest. The annoying issue is that the fit on the front is very short. While the spine protector goes all the way down the back, the front stops at the bottom of the chest, and above the stomach. This leads to a mildly awkward fit, but I suppose its something that you could get used to. It would be nice if there was armor on the shoulders as well, but alas, there isn't any. It seems like the sizes are a bit small, but I do have a large upper body, so it may just be me. Overall seems solid! June 18, 2014

Franklin L: Icon,the best Jul 20, 2014
Arturo R: comfort and protection on hot summer days Jul 9, 2014
M S: It very hot out here in Riverside California. The product does not protect you like a riding jacket, but it is enough during 90 to 100 degree weather. Jul 7, 2014
Greg P: for protection Jul 4, 2014
pedro c: Great add on to my gear with free shipping Jun 30, 2014
Jeff J: For better or worse, there are days when it's just too hot to wear my jacket. I know I shouldn't, but the truth is, I do ride in just my day clothes from time to time. I figure, wearing this is better than nothing. Plus, I opted for the high-viz yellow, because I'm more afraid of other motorists than I am myself, so at the very least, it'll help to be sure I'm noticed. Jun 25, 2014
Dakota S: Have herd nothing but good reviews on this vest. So i decided to try it out my self, will rate after it arrives at my door :) Jun 19, 2014
Gregory D: I choose this product because I wanted something lighter but still gave me good spine protection Jun 15, 2014

corey h: I chose to get the striker vest because the jacket I'm wearing now has no armor and while the leather seems vary robust I feel vulnerable to any major accident I can imagine happening. I learned about this vest through a Moto Vloger on YouTube. i don't remember which one though. May 21, 2014
Gregory B: Where I am currently living, working and riding people tend to be far less prudent drivers than those in the U.S.A. and even less watchful for motorcyclists. Therefore, wanted some added protection. Seem protective. Fit good. My only complaints are in line with that of others. I wished these came down a little further in the front. Also I wish that the side velcro adjustments were designed a little better as this vest tends to ride up in front even more that it already is, while riding. May 20, 2014

Michael D: I tried the stryker vest on at a local store and i loved the fit. im 6ft 230lbs athletic build and the LG/XL fits perfect. the only reason i did not buy the one i tried on in the store is that i wanted the stealth one and they only had the green. Mar 14, 2014

Cody B: I wanted chest protection and my jacket didn't provide slots for inserts, thus the vest. Cheap and CE certified. Looks great but I'll be wearing it underneath. Dec 9, 2013
Jeffrey H: I chose the Icon Stryker Vest for good back and chest protection. I have quite a few jackets and am always buying more and instead of buying back armor for each jacket, it makes more sense to get a vest that can be worn underneath any of them. Plus a lot of jackets don't have compartments for chest protectors so it seems like a good option. Nov 22, 2013

A shopper asked: Hey guys. I have a 40" chest. I'm not sure if I should go for the SM-MD or the L-XL since they both meet at the 40" mark? Aug 25, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
Fede S: I got the sm-mid. I am 6' tall, 190lbs, 40" chest. It fits nice and snug, I am happy with the fit and protection, some rib padding would be nice though. Aug 26, 2013

Jack H: These vests are very adjustable. You can adjust the Velcro placements (both on shoulder and waist) and the waist straps are also elastic. I'm a 44" chest and have the L-XL. Minimum waist adjustment is very tight on me but wearable. Adjusted to the max would give me 3"-4" more space. I hope my description of a L-XL size is helpful to you in your quest for a better fitting vest. Aug 26, 2013

Cameron H: I would probably go with the bigger of the two options, as mine was a little smaller than expected. There is a bit of adjustment room in the straps too. Aug 26, 2013

Adam L: I too am right around 40" chest.. Typical suit jacket is a 40 or 42 short. I'm 5'8". There is some adjustibility with the vest so you could probably go with either. If your more the shorter/athletic body build then I would probably recommend the SM/MD. If you're taller or heavier then the L-XL would be the better choice. Fortunately if you get the sizing wrong, Revzilla will do an exchange for you. Aug 26, 2013

Daniel F: I am a typical size 40 and can buy clothes online without too many missteps. This vest is true to size and has adjustable shoulder and waist velcro. I'm 5'11" 168lbs. It fits well. I bought it to use under my Teknic race leathers. Didn't work. Too bulky. This vest will fit under my Alpinestars suit. but I gave up wearing it and pledged to myself that I wouldn't crash. LOL. Hope this helps. Aug 26, 2013

A shopper asked: So i Longboard and have been contemplating about getting this vest for chest & back protection but on a longboard I need almost full mobility, and i'm a skinny guy anyways so i cant have my center of gravity drastically changed.
How much dose this vest weigh?
Dose it restrict movement? or dig into your abdomen if your fully bent forward?

Dennis L: This vest does not dig into your abdomen, and it does not restrict your movement, at least when it comes to riding a motorcycle. Apr 14, 2014

Isaias C asked: Looking to upgrade from my foam back pad and cant decide wether to go with the vest or the back protector from icon what do you guys think? I'm only getting it for the back protection because my jacket already has armor in the elbows and shoulders. Aug 26, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
asad s: Isaias, armor in the elbows and shoulders does not compensate for chest protection. I would always go for the full vest vs. just back protection.

Now, I will also give you my experience with the vest's comfort. If you sweat easily, I would suggest wearing a breathable shirt (soccer jersey, under armour, etc.) under it if you do not like the feeling of having a sweaty cotton t-shirt. Although the vest breathes well, a cotton shirt does not, and will absorb your sweat and stay wet. I am not bothered by sweat so you will have to determine if this is an issue for you. I have had this since May and NYC was hot and humid during the Summer. If you're caught in slow speed traffic you will have a a sweaty shirt when you stop riding during hot days. It is very comfortable, not bulky feeling at all. You can wear it under a leather or mesh jacket and still be able to move. The material has a weird smell first time out of the package but it will go away after you let it breathe. My good friend wears his under his full leather during track days and says it is comfy under his race suit. Whether you buy brand or a more expensive one, I would definitely invest in a full vest and not just a back protector. I hope this helps.

Joseph B: I bought my Stryker for the same reason. It's a great vest that offers a little chest protection as well, which comes in handy if you're ever in a front end collision and slam your chest of the bars (I learned that the hard way, thankfully I was wearing my rig). Perfect compliment to a jacket or by itself for warm weather riding. Worth every penny. Aug 27, 2013

Alex B: I was in the exact same situation as you and decided to go with the vest, since it offers additional chest protection. It works well with the jacket, but it does get a bit hot in the summer even with the vented jacket. I wound up using it without the jacket on a couple of occasions when the temperatures were in the 90's. Aug 27, 2013
Reply to Alex Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Vadym L: if you're looking to wear it under your jacket, make sure you have some chest room because the vest does add more thickness then just the backprotector. if your jacket isnt too tight on you already id go with the vest because you can also wear it on its own on hot days Aug 27, 2013

A shopper asked: Would this fit a woman very well? Jul 2, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Matthew S: It would depend upon your upper body profile. This did not fit well on my wife and if you are busty or have a curvy profile I would not expect this to fit properly. I would recommend you look at the Women's stryker vest by Icon.

jonathan h: The vest is very adjustable, that being said there are some anatomical considerations to consider for a woman vs. a man. I purchased the L/XL . I am 6'1' and 180. Fits great under my jacket and over depending on my needs. The vest has saved me on 2 occasions. One was a pretty fast high side fall. I believe this vest would work for a woman just fine, if it is properly adjusted. Jul 2, 2014

timothy d: Depends on her bust size, it was made with men in mind but I don't think there would be issues, the vest is flimsy/not rigid, but not of low quality. So it can conform relatively well. Jul 2, 2014

A shopper asked: hi wonderin if this armor would be wearable on a cruiser cause the back seems to extend down a bit much? Jan 24, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Matthew S: I think it would depending upon your size and weight. I ordered the medium size and I am 5'8", 165. The back portion doesn't extend as far down as you might think and actually ends above the small of your back. The chest portion actually ends right where the bottom of your rib cage is and does not extent down to your belly area.

I wear it under an Olympia Airglide Jacket which has a tight waist on it and it does not extend below the jacket.

Michael E: I have a cruiser, tourer, and a naked.I wear the vest under three different jackets and it works great.Get the Hi-Viz and wear it on the outside at night.Wearing it on the inside feels more secure due to the velcro sides.Don't know how it would hold up on a get-off. Jan 24, 2014

Ryan K: I know sitting in a chair with it on it rides up a bit, but not too much. The whole vest sits pretty high, so the little tail section doesn't really sit that low. On me the tail section ends around my belt line, maybe a bit higher. Jan 24, 2014

Daytona650Rider: Glen,

I got a L/XL and over a tee-shirt it is as tight as it will go, and fits good. I am 5'11" and 185 lbs. 42 inch chest. I would say that it depends on how thick your jumper is, if its pretty thin I would say you may want to go with the md.

I'm about a 42 inch chest and I wear LG-XL so u may need a size bigger depending on your height/weight. The vest also has adjustable straps around the shoulder and below the armpits. Jul 22, 2014

A shopper asked: I am not really into wearing protection over my clothing. Does anyone have experience with wearing this directly on your skin instead of over a t-shirt? I was thinking I could pair it with an under armour muscle shirt underneath if it's not comfortable against my skin. Thoughts? May 6, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Brian G: I suppose it would ultimately be comfortable as the material is soft and smooth, but I would definitely recommend a layer underneath. If anything, it's a black, form-fitting piece and it gets warm. I think an absorbing/wicking layer underneath is your best bet both for comfort and for keeping the vest where it's supposed to be on your body. Jun 16, 2014

derek h: I've never worn it against my skin. I'd suggest you just wear it over a t shirt. You won't even know its there. With summer approaching you pair this with the icon elbow armor and you have the same protection as a jacket but 100% cooler... May 7, 2014

todd m: No idea :) , but the stryker vest is a good alliterative if you are not wearing a jacket. But you need to add the elbow pads to make this a good option. Otherwise when you go down, your elbows will get screwed up. :) Dec 20, 2013

A shopper asked: Hi I bought this vest I am 6'2 235 lbs and the vest does fit to its maximum fitting. However, there is about 5 inches of my lower back exposed and I'm not sure I feel comfortable having this to its maximum setting. I have the L-XL. Is it supposed to cover your whole back to your tailbone? Apr 30, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Brian G: My height is around 5'11", so you certainly have a few inches on me, and I actually bought the 2XL-3XL for myself for this exact reason. The L-XL size kept the majority of my back covered, but there was a little bit unprotected that I wanted covered. With your taller height, I imagine that exposed space is a bit worrisome. You could consider buying the 2XL-3XL size as well and mix-and-matching parts to find the right fit (the stretching straps, chest protector, and back protector are all differently sized). Expensive, but worth it for the right fit in my opinion.

Short answer: I would recommend getting a larger size to give yourself full protection.
