Its no x11, but its pretty good Good solid fit, and light. Had it for a year now and cant get over the fact that It whistles like a banshee no matter what I do. Required smaller cheek pads out of the box as well. Maybe the x11 spoiled me, no whistling and fit perfect with stock pads. August 31, 2014
I got this helmet at a great price under clearance This is one of the best helmet I've ever owned. I got a MEDIUM size. The helmet is a bit loose on the forehead. It tilts down when I'm in a full tuck position. I think i need to get a Small inferior. Overall, I'm extremely happy with it. July 8, 2014
Pretty much perfect!!! I bought a shoei x12 because i wanted the best track helmet money could buy and im positive i got it. I take a size L and its a snug, firm fit without being over tight, and the linings are super comfortable. The field of vision is amazing, i can see pretty much everything that i can see without a helmet on. The weight is also really good, not too heavy but not light either which i think is a testament to the quality and durability. I also was told by the lads where i bought it that Shoei wind tunnel test them to 300kmh. The x12 is a little bit louder than my GT-Air as far as wind noise goes, but in my opinion thats a part of the thrill of going fast is hearing that wind screaming by your head. The ventilation is also pretty good, not as good as some but it will still keep your head at a good temp and your visor fog free. I was a little bit spooked by the price tag at first, but after using one i believe they are worth every cent, every time i ride im completely confident my head has the best of the best protection on the market. Overall I honestly can't speak highly enough about the x12. If you have the coin, get one.... August 13, 2014
Nice and cool. I only bought it because I had the money and it was so cool looking. Revzilla didn't have my model so I'm writing this review under the solid model. I've only had Shoe helmets so I don't know any better. I owned the RF-1100 as my first helmet. They didn't have one in stock so I bought the X-12. I thought there was something wrong with it at first because it is so noisy. It sucks because I can hardly hear my iPod over all of the noise. In Albuquerque it's all about air flow. I always recommend shoe. They feel good. They look good. July 22, 2014
Great helmet got the helmet yesterday and hit the roads this morning after mounting a spectra mirrored shield. Love the air flow! Slightly more wind noise than my GT Air June 14, 2014
Sick helmet Love this helmet. Fits perfect in all aspects and who doesn't love the American paint job. Winner! May 27, 2014
Excellent, well worth the money Another excellent helmet from Shoei, I upgraded from my RF-1100 after a nasty wreck on the street. I couldn't be happier with this helmet, turns lots of heads on the street while being visible and offering track level protection. It is a touch louder than the RF-1100, but it also flows much more air. The only downside to this helmet is the top vents can be difficult to work with good gloves on, but I usually set them before I leave and am fine. May 6, 2014

chris p: top notch helmet really good price, goes perfect with my ducati 916 Oct 8, 2014
ANDY L: Got it on clearance. Great helmet. Nothing to complain about ! Aug 26, 2014
Eric R: it held up well in a high-side crash. Jul 27, 2014
Michael S: Crashed hard at Road Atlanta during a WERA race in June 2014. Shoei helmet took a beating but my head didn't. Shoei helmets are extremely comfortable, quiet, and they have protected me flawlessly in 2 race crashes over 2 years. Expensive, but well worth it. Jul 13, 2014
PAULO P: Already had one but it got damaged after a crash. Going for a new one because of the outstanding protection, reduced noise level and mostly because of the shape design, which fits my head perfectly. Top tier helmet, sharing #1 with Arai Corsair in my modest opinion :-) Apr 25, 2014
Ronald E: This is my 2nd X-12 helmet, I really liked the first one. Mar 24, 2014
anthony f: Shoei has always been a great helmet, it was time for me to upgrade and this one caught my eye! Mar 20, 2014

A shopper asked: I have a large rf-1100, is it the same size chart? Mar 4, 2014

Steve P: I also have a rf1100 but in a med size and the x-12 med fits about the same except maybe a little snugger in the jaw area. I'm very happy with the fit and wanted this helmet a little snugger without a full fairing on my bike. And I think you can get different check pads to compensate if need be. Steve Pakis Mar 5, 2014

Robert B: This is probably an question that the Revzilla crew can better answer. I've worn Shoei helmets for the last 20 some years and I've always worn a medium-- whether X11, Duotech, X12 etc. So based on personal experience I would say that Shoei is very consistent in sizing at least in my limited experience with four different models over the years. My X12 is a super helmet--highly recommended. Mar 6, 2014

Michael F: Yeah, no reason why it shouldn't. It might fit a little more snugly, the x-12 being a premium race helmet and all, but it's still extremely comfortable. For reference, my buddy has an rf-1100 in size medium, the size that my x-12 is, and both fit me just fine.
Hope that helps!

William S: I have a medium, seems to run true to size. I've had several Shoei helmets, and the cheek pads run tight. I measure 7-1/8 to 7-1/4, so I'm a medium in every helmet. I'd go ahead and order the large. Mar 4, 2014

Shan H: I believe it should be the same as the rf-1100, though I have not tried rf-1000. Mar 5, 2014
