Shoei RF-1200 Marquez Black Ant Helmet

Celebrate the youngest MotoGP rookie-champion since Kenny Roberts with the Shoei RF-1200 Marquez Black Ant Helmet. Rock it like Marc.

The pinnacle of perfection, the RF-1200 has been designed, from its inception, to be an industry leader in comfort, performance and protection. The wind tunnel tested shell has been optimized to provide a compact and aerodynamic shape, reducing wind-noise, buffeting and weight. Shoei has not only designed the RF-1200 to be one of the most comfortable helmets on the market, but also one of the safest, meeting both DOT and SNELL M2010 safety standards.

Whether you are a track day enthusiast or cross-country cruiser, the RF-1200 will allow you to ride with confidence, freeing you to concentrate on the road and most importantly....enjoy the ride.

Please Note: Wearing the Shoei RF-1200 Maquez Black Ant Helmet does not guarantee pole position performance on the track.

Slim And Light Weight Design

One of the most important features of a quality helmet is that you hardly know it’s there protecting your head. Shoei has reduced the weight of the RF-1200 by using a slimmer design and building a distinct line into the side of the helmet that also serves as an accent. As a result, the new Shoei RF-1200 is lighter than any other Snell certified helmet in the current Shoei lineup.

Shell Construction

The new slim design of the Shoei RF-1200, with its distinct accent cut line, widens the bottom of the helmet to help ease the process of putting the helmet on or taking it off. Further advancing the comfort of the AIM+ shell is the industry leading four shell sizes that the Shoei RF-1200 comes in. The impact-absorbing dual liner consists of two layers incorporating different densities, helping to effectively balance the potential impact applied to the more rigid shell.

Through advancements in the aerodynamic shape, improved interior linings and a new and improved shield system the rider will experience a very quiet and comfortable riding experience. The interior of the RF-1200 has achieved a balance of a comfortably soft fit and a firm, stable hold. The new design of the cheek pads also improves the motion of the neck, thus helping the rider to check traffic behind him/her for example.

Shield System

The new CWR-1 Pinlock shield features ribs on top and bottom of the shield to improve rigidity and eliminate bending of the shield caused by wind pressure or the opening and closing of the shield. Independent beading in the top and sides of the helmet help to keep the seal of the shield tight and eliminate any excess air. In addition to the CWR-1 shield, Shoei has developed a new base plate for the RF-1200. The Quick-Release Self-Adjusting base plate is spring-loaded and pulls the shield back onto the helmet, sealing it tightly against wind and rain. The addition of a new five-stage rotating dial allows for fine tuning of the base place for easy shield adjustments.

A large lower three position vent, three upper air vent intakes and four uniquely positioned upper exhaust outlet vents combine with the Dual Density EPS liner to allow cooling air to travel unrestricted through tunnels created in the EPS liner.

This is the best helmet I've ever owned ROI: No complaints since I got it on sale, so I'd say it's a very good ROI. STYLE: Love it! The Brigand design looks great and when I had a chance to stop in the few days I've had it, I've gotten a few compliments. COMFORT: When I initially put it on, I thought, "man, this is TIGHT!", but after riding around for a few days, the perceived snugness I felt is barely noticeable. PROTECTION & DURABILITY: Can't speak to it yet because I like to keep the rubber on the road! AIR FLOW: I must have had just bad helmets in the past, because this is the first helmet where I actually feel air moving across the top of my head. It's fantastic! It was 80F (26.6C) when I went to work today, and my face wasn't melting off when I arrived. FEATURES: I can actually use my BT headset without it feeling like the speakers are digging out new patterns into my ears thanks to the speaker cut-outs. And as far as noise goes, this is a really quiet helmet, comparatively-speaking, to the ones I've owned in the past. Now I commute with ear plugs in and music playing; I can still definitively hear cars and big rigs around me at highway+ speeds. Would definitely recommend this helmet! June 20, 2016
Helmet is worth the extra money. The fit and finish of this helmet is great. Never had an issue with the visor whistling like some cheaper helmets do. Nice and light, can't really speak for wind noise as I ride naked bikes and it seems like no helmet can quiet things down at highway speeds. Expect to wear earplugs still. June 19, 2016
Great helmet on Sale Overall this is a great helmet, lighter than what I have worn before, and the ventilation is much better than my prior $160 helmets. The lining while it does wick moisture away, feels coarse - almost like it belongs in a less expensive helmet. The anti-fog face shield liner glares if the sun hits it at an angle. This is annoying when riding winding roads or when the sun is setting. With the face shield down the helmet is quiet and ventilates well, but with the face shield full up I get a whistle, this may be particular to the fairings on my bike - A stock Buell XB12R. To me the helmet is looser than a Scorpion EXO-400 of equal size, but it is lighter. It didn't create hot spots on a 13 hr ride. Since I couldn't find info published for head shape, I will share mine. 13.5" forehead to base of skull, 12" over top of ears. Wearing a XL, but feel like I need to go to one step larger pads. The Large helmet was too small for my head. June 16, 2016
great helmet great helmet light weight very good vision. Best helmet i ever had been riding for 30 years. June 15, 2016
Great Helmet / Styling Wife loves this helmet. Was a bit snug at first, but the cheek pads wore in after only a few rides. June 14, 2016
Fits my head perfectly!!! The RF1200 is perfect with some modifications. The stock cheek pads were too small, went with the 35mm's and it fit perfectly on my head. I love that it is perfectly setup for my sena, & easy enough to mount a gopro too. Fit is perfect, vision is perfect, super lightweight, wind noise is minimal. My only con is the airflow. I haven't had too many helmets in the past, comparing it to my most recent helmet the Bell Bullitt (anything & everything has better airflow than that lol), I just feel like there's not enough airflow to my noggin on 90+ degree days. But besides that, the RF1200 is a solid helmet! June 14, 2016
Great but lining is a bit small This is a great helmet in terms of durability and air flow, however, I'm going to order the 31mm replacement pads, as the 35mm pads are too tight. June 14, 2016
Expensive but the best gear I own I didn't want to skimp on the helmet and decided to spend more for a helmet than I do for most of my gear. I looked primarily at this Shoei RF-1200 and the Arai RX-Q. Both are very highly reviewed but after trying them both I felt that the Shoei was far more comfortable for my wide face and head than than the Arai. The overall comfort of the helmet is striking. I was worried a full face helmet would really take away from my riding comfort but as crazy as it sounds I do forget about it being on some times. The high visibility is very striking on the road. Nice wide vision. All in all I couldn't be more pleased with the RF-1200. Please spring for a nice helmet. You'll be safer and more comforatable. June 7, 2016
