The RF-1100 Glacier Helmet is tasteful high-visibility graphical option from Shoei built upon the best-selling and much accoladed RF-1100 chassis.
AIM+ Shell Construction:
Aerodynamic properties are maximized through extensive wind tunnel and professional riders’ feedback
High performance fiber materials are combined with extremely elastic organic fibers to create shell structure that is ultra lightweight, rigid and resilient
5 Shell Sizes and six EPS liner configurations present increased fit options that comfortably fit most head sizes
A third generation Tail Fin, integrated into the bottom rear beading in combination with the Shell-Integrated Spoiler, allows smooth airflow that reduces drag and lift
CW-1 Face Shield
The CW-1, three-dimensionally curved shield is both wider and taller than the CX-1V it replaces
Q.R.S.A. (Quick Release Self-Adjusting) Base Plate System
Q.R.S.A. base plate allows for tool-less face shield removal and installation.
Every time the shield is lowered, the spring-loaded base plate (U.S. patent pending 11/799935) pulls the shield back to contact the window beading evenly, ensuring a wind and waterproof seal between shield and helmet
Variable Ventilation System
Upper Air Intake Vent is positioned to maximize air volume into the helmet interior
Top outlet vent is separate from the Shell-
Integrated Spoiler, allowing it to be positioned for optimum flow-through ventilation
Four rear outlet vents allow for adjustment of airflow based on riding position
Enlarged lower air intake/defroster vent reduces shield fogging and increases ventilation
The rear/neck outlets allow for effective air exhaust
Breath guard and chin curtain included
The entire interior lining (cheek pads, crown liner and chin strap covers) is easily removed to allow cleaning
Each component of the inner liner is ergonomically designed to offer the ultimate in safety, fit and comfort

Jens A: I didn't like how my Shark Vision-R helmet fit and discussed the problems I was having with your employee Drew. He was awesome helping answer all my questions and recommended that I take a look at the RF-1100 and an Arai RXQ. We have the same head size and he was able to give his experience using the RF-1100 with glasses. After watching the videos and reading up on the helmet, I was sold. It also helped that it's a closeout. I'm excited to try it out, Thanks Drew!Jan 23, 2014

A S asked:Is this helmet hi viz green? It says yellow in the description? I just bought the joe rocket atomic 4.0 jacket and wondered if the hi viz is the same color? Also what other shoei hi viz helmets would match the jacket I bought?Mar 26, 2014
A shopper asked:Is the stock shield on the RF1100 pin lock ready or will I need to buy a new shield and a lens? As for tinting, haven't been on a bike in years and have not used a tinted shield, so is there some criteria for deciding how light or dark a tinted shield should be for riding in Texas. I hate to be popping shields on and off all the time. If I go with a pinlock shield, do most people just put a tinted lens behind their clear shield or use a tinted pin lock shield and a clear lens? Final question, RF1200 comes standard in the box with pin lock shield and a clear lens, correct?Jan 13, 2014
Dennis N:The standard stock shield of the RF-1100 is not pin lock ready. I live in Florida and decided against switching between a light and dark shield. The shield scratches easily, therefore, you don't want to keep swapping them in an out while on the road. I have the standard light shield and instead spent money on a nice pair of dark sunglasses while riding. My previous helmet had a fog-free coating on the inside of the shield. I thought I would need the pin lock shield to avoid fogging the shield up. I have been riding with the standard shield in the RF-1100 for 2 months now, on both sunny and rainy days, and the shield has not fogged up once. I have decided against spending money on a pinlock shield. I believe the RF-1200 comes with the pinlock shield in the box.Jan 17, 2014
Behzad N:The system is not pin lock ready... That being said, the helmet is the best I've ever owned... It doesn't fog up as quick as other helmets. One idea is to get a mirrored finish, it blocks out a good amount of heat and tints somewhere in the middle of dark and light tint. No the helmet does not come with a pinlock system. The best benefit to pinlock is the antifog abilities but if you care for you shield properly you won't have too many problems with this helmet. Just buy some high grade antifog and apply it once or twice a week.Jan 16, 2014
Max Z:Stock shield on the RF1100 is not pin lock ready, you would have to purchase that separately.
I do not know about the RF1200... I believe it does come with a pin lock shield and lens.
I use sunglasses and my clear shield, then take off sunglasses at night. Pretty much never deal with shield changes that way. But it is a very easy shield change process... The level of tint is up to you, just like how dark of a pair of sunglasses you want to use. Just wouldn't recommend tinted at night.Jan 16, 2014
A shopper asked:I'm already set on buying Shoei RF-1100 from revzilla, but I've been riding everyday everywhere for over 15 years and I have always bought white helmets, for two reason: First reason is safety, it's easier to spot a guy with a white helmet (now they have high-vis colors) and the other thing is when I have tried dark helmets in the summer I've boiled in stop lights. So basically I'm worried about getting Shoei RF-1100 Glacier Helmet that is mat black. Question is; Is the helmet well insulated and withstand the harsh Santiago Chilean sun in the summer while at a stop light better than the same helmet in white? I know that I will boil wether it be white or another color, but will black be an issue.Oct 11, 2013
Sergio P:Hi, Shoei RF-1100 Glacier Helmet is my second Shoei black helmet and I would say no regret.
I would say that green fluorescent belt in the helmet is very safe and you can see It from far away, even at night.
Regarding the warm, I can say that I live in Brazil and our summer is very hot, but nothing you can not handle. The helmet has front air intakes that allow excellent air circulation inside the helmet. I hope I have helped you in the decision to buy the helmet. It is a nice product. You won't be regret!Oct 14, 2013
Christopher B:I had the same concern, its not as bad as you would expect. I think the ventilation of the helmet is good enough where this isn't that big of a problem. I used to live in the the Desert of Palm Springs, and never complained about the helmet.Oct 11, 2013
A shopper asked:I currently wear a SHOEI RF-1000 Jordan Szoke. I am interested in the RF-1100. I tried one on in a local store and discovered something. I currently wear a Large but I tried on a Medium. The Medium seemed to fit a bit better but my nose touches the chin bar and it was hard to get my ears unfolded. (I swear I'm not an elephant.) Would it be better to stay in a large where my nose doesn't touch but there is a VERY little play amount of "up/down" play in helmet or will the Medium break in enough to where my nose will stop touching? I guess I'm right in between sizes?Sep 9, 2013
John H:Not every head is shaped the same and different models will fit differently. If your nose is touching the helmet and not the rubber piece that prevents the visor from fogging, the medium is likely to be too small. Very little play would indicate that the large is more appropriate. Shoei has specific design guidelines for what size helmet to wear based on the circumference of your head. I would recommend you follow shoei's sizing charts. The pads are removable, so for a tighter fit check to see if shoei has thicker pads available. If not, a different model or manufacturer may be a better choice. For the medium, your nose is likely to touch helmet even more once the pads form to your face, especially under acceleration.Sep 18, 2013
