Play that funky beat - the RF-1100 Elektro helmet offers a unique style to the Shoei lineup.
AIM+ Shell Construction:
Aerodynamic properties are maximized through extensive wind tunnel and professional riders’ feedback
High performance fiber materials are combined with extremely elastic organic fibers to create shell structure that is ultra lightweight, rigid and resilient
5 Shell Sizes and six EPS liner configurations present increased fit options that comfortably fit most head sizes
A third generation Tail Fin, integrated into the bottom rear beading in combination with the Shell-Integrated Spoiler, allows smooth airflow that reduces drag and lift
CW-1 Face Shield
The CW-1, three-dimensionally curved shield is both wider and taller than the CX-1V it replaces
Q.R.S.A. (Quick Release Self-Adjusting) Base Plate System
Q.R.S.A. base plate allows for tool-less face shield removal and installation.
Every time the shield is lowered, the spring-loaded base plate (U.S. patent pending 11/799935) pulls the shield back to contact the window beading evenly, ensuring a wind and waterproof seal between shield and helmet
Variable Ventilation System
Upper Air Intake Vent is positioned to maximize air volume into the helmet interior
Top outlet vent is separate from the Shell-
Integrated Spoiler, allowing it to be positioned for optimum flow-through ventilation
Four rear outlet vents allow for adjustment of airflow based on riding position
Enlarged lower air intake/defroster vent reduces shield fogging and increases ventilation
The rear/neck outlets allow for effective air exhaust
Breath guard and chin curtain included
The entire interior lining (cheek pads, crown liner and chin strap covers) is easily removed to allow cleaning
Each component of the inner liner is ergonomically designed to offer the ultimate in safety, fit and comfort
5 shell sizes
Weight: 3.54 Pounds / 1604grams (based on size medium / solid color)

I'm a SHOEI Fan!
This is my second Shoei helmet. I went down a size this time and it fits perfectly. Love the features, comfort and style and protection. My first Shoei helmet saved me from serious injury - so I am a believer in the protection that this helmet provides which is worth every penny.

Im based in South Africa, and here we have the XR 1100 as I believe we conform to European standards. Can you tell me exactly what the difference is between the XR1100 and RF1100 as I am interested in the Elektro Black/Grey which is only available in the RF1100?
I am based in South Africa and ordered the matt black RF 1100 with additional dark visor from Revzilla. Based on what I was able to determine, it seems to be the same helmet but under a different name. I did my fitting on a XR 1100 from a local dealer and then ordered the same RF 1100 from Revzilla. I am not aware of any differences between the two helmets, if there are any.
I am very pleased with the helmet and also had a great experience researching and purchasing from Revzilla. Both are highly recommended.
HI Albert, good to know someone in SA also purchasing from Revzilla. My biggest fear is that dreaded import tax. I know on the helmet it might not be as bad, but I am a bit weary on ordering the Dianese kit I want. I went to the sole Dianese importer in Midrand, but the delivery time is expected to be very long. Have you ordered any kit from Revzilla, and what was the import duties like?
Looking forward to your response Adrian

My purchase included a helmet, jacket, boots and gloves but I do not know what the import duties would have been since my gear was brought in from the USA by a friend. I do however suspect that buying from Revzilla, compared to local dealers, would still probably be a better deal even with the individual import duties. I would recommend comparing the local prices of your items to Revzilla to determine if the difference justifies purchasing from them.
I also understand that Revzilla now ships to SA, which is great as I plan to make another purchase from them as soon as one of the items is in stock again. This time I will also have to pay the import duties but it will probably still be worth it.
Dean T:I found the XR on Shoei Europe's website. Externally, it looks exactly like the RF. The difference, therefore, must be in the protection standards of each. I'm sorry, I don't know the differences in the standards, or what is acceptable in South Africa. I can tell you that I love my RF. I've had two, and find it to be the most comfortable helmet I've ever had. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Daniel C:Not to sure on the difference between the XR and RF models,I have got a RF1100 Merciless and I personally think it's great(my second Shoei).Awesome comfort and it's quieter than my old Shoei.I dont think you can go wrong if your looking at this rang of helmet.Aug 28, 2013
Anne-Barbara A:Adrian, Revzilla can hopefully definitively answer the technical piece of your question between the RF vs the XR. I think you are correct that the RF has Snell 2010 rating vs XR being Euro 22-05 rated.Aug 27, 2013
