Shoei Qwest Neuron Helmet 4.6 5 198 198
in the moment i put the helmet and ride my bike....i feel like mick doohan o maybe valentino rossi, the helmet is just amazing the helmet is very comfortable, the noise level is perfect because you can heard the cars and others things and in the same time "feel your bike". In highways is amazing, the same weekend i received it, i made a 300 km trip, perfect movement , the temperature inside the helmet was very fresh. November 19, 2012
My first fullface and love it Had a Yamaha 175 Enduro some 40 yrs ago and the only prior helmet I ever had was a low end open face with no shield. Well, I just got a creampuff low miles 2003 Suzuki SV650 after all these years and desired much better protection at my age. The Shoei Med fits me well (snug) and seems to be breaking in so as not to apply so much pressure on my cheeks as it first did. Very pleased in all respects. November 7, 2012
A Gold Wing rider's perspective I wanted to love this helmet! It is well made and well-designed. I wore a Shoei J-Wing (3/4 helmet) for many years and loved the helmet. My brother tried to convince me to upgrade to a full-face helmet for more protection, so I tried the Quest. I ride a Gold Wing, which provides excellent wind protection with its fairing and windscreen. I found the Quest ventilation to be totally inefficient behind such a windscreen, causing the helmet to be too hot for temps above 75 degrees. The faceshield would fog up whenever I had it closed, which made it totally useless in the rain. So now I have gone to an Arai 3/4 helmet, sold the Quest on Ebay, and am comfortable once again! I'm not knocking the Quest.... It's just not right for you GoldWingers! October 14, 2012
Great Starting Helmet This helmet is great. I tried on all the other major brand helmets, this thing was tight and gave me a headache for the first few hours (mind you, it was my very first helmet and i hate having things on my head) So i knew that was a big contributing factor. Surely enough after taking it off/on for a good few hours it fit perfectly snug, no headaches anymore or anything. The airflow is fantastic, Im extremely impressed with the airflow in this helmet for simply having 3intakes. Next helmet will either be the rf100 or bell rs1. October 4, 2012
Expected much more from this brand... 1. Loud high pitch noise in the helmet when speed reaches about 60 km/h - tried everything, cannot get rid of it. 2. Faceshield is fogging consistently - unless you keep it open which adds to the noise level. Overall the helmet is very comfortable, replacing shield to tinted one is so much easier that on my old helmet (Scorpion Exo 700), but this high pitch noise and fogging is definitely two huge issues - I didn't have any of these problems with my old helmet. Somewhat disappointed in my purchase. October 2, 2012
Good helmet for the money I was looking for the quietest helmet I could find, for a sport touring bike. This new Qwest is quieter than my old Arai, but still not as quiet as I hoped. I really wanted to buy the new Schuberth S2, but I was right between a L and XL in their sizes. After a 1600 miles to/from the east coast, I can honestly say this Qwest is comfortable. The anti-fogging isn't as good as the Arai, but the more aerodynamic vents are more quieter, with less whistling. The size is definitely a more round oval, especially lower in the helmet. I ordered and installed the larger cheek pads to snug up the fit, but overall a good fit for my 59.5cm head. I'm not crazy about the cheek pad design. There is a long plastic trim piece on each, that wraps almost 1/3 the way around the helmet, between the shell and the inner liner. Fine, unless you are trying to get the wires for a helmet communicator to fit in. October 2, 2012
Best value for money and awesome quality Bought an XL size and fits perfectly and It's also very light. I'm very happy with the product. October 1, 2012
Premum helmet at reasonable price I've just started riding again after 30+years and was looking for a high quality helmet. I'm pleased with the fit and weight but a little surprised at the noise level. I've only used worn it in 85'F conditions so I really can't comment on airflow/cooling. September 30, 2012

Answer:
Actually, the Quest is a large step up from the TZ. The Quest has new technology which makes it lighter, and it is designed more for an upright riding position rather than the forward position of a sports bike. The Quest is an all new (from Shoei) designed helmet to allow the touring and sports touring motorcyclist to get more air. The top vent, for example, is located higher on the helmet and gets more air from the upright seating position. It is a great helmet. I have had one since they were introduced and I love it.

Answer:
IMHO, it depends on the shape of your head. I have a medium oval shaped head, which tends to feel better in a Shoei. I have the Shoei Quest, in Silver, and could not be happier with the fit. If you have more of a round shaped head, Arai seems to fit better. Please note that the Shoei Quest and the New Arai RX-Q are true touring helmets. The vents are higher on the head to be more efficient in an upright seating position. One last thing, the new RX-Q does seem to fit a more oval shaped head, a departure from the rest of the Arai line.
The best thing for you to do, if you can, is try the helmets on and see for yourself. The Shoei is MUCH cheaper than the Arai!

Answer:
It comes with a face shield (clear), but if you want to custom fit cheek pads you'll have to get them separate. It also comes with a chin curtain and a breath guard. I have the breath guard in but not the chin curtain at the moment as I think it seemed to fog more.

Answer:
Yes. I just bought the Quest from RevZilla and it came with a face shield.
Comes with a clear shield.
Also comes with the breath guard & a stretch piece to cover between the bottom front edge of the helmet and your throat (for cold conditions)
I didnt read all the details but the shield one that Shoei is proud of & includes with the RF 1100
So no worries that you will get a good shield

Answer:
The pin lock is an additional smaller ad-on internal shield that mounts on two pins.It is designed to create an air space between the cold exterior shield temp and warm excelations thereby minimizing interior fogging.

Answer:
The pin lock is a system where you install and thin "liner" on your shield with the use of these little pin locks to help keep the shield from fogging. Can be tricky to make sure the liner seals properly but if you do your main field of vision should stay fog free.

Answer:
A Pinlock system is one of the few solutions for anti-fog that really works. I use the Pinlock system on my Shoei Multitec and haven't had any problems in almost three years of use.

Basically you are creating a micro-climate with 0% humidity by sealing the inner Pinlock lens to the outer shield by means of two pressure fit pins and a bead of silicone. If the lens is installed in a clean, dry environment then no moisture will get in between the two layers and it will be near impossible to fog.

Keep in mind that there are two parts to the system - a Pinlock lens and the Pinlock shield. I've linked those products for you below as they relate to the Shoei Qwest
