Scorpion EXO-R2000 Helmet - Solid Colors

The EXO R2000 is Scorpion's flagship performance race helmet. Built with exclusive TCT composite shell construction, the lightweight EXO-2000 was developed by Scorpion engineers with input from MotoGP riders and tested on the track as well as in the lab. Scorpion's exclusive Ellip-Tec ratchet technology ensures a tight seal around the shield while the advanced aero-tuned ventilation system produces generous airflow and circulation throughout the helmet.

The aerodynamically designed tear-drop shell shape minimizes buffeting at high speeds and the AirFit cheekpad system ensures a custom snug fit. The Scorpion EXO-R2000 comes equipped with Emergency Release cheek pads, a standard EverClear shield PLUS a bonus Dark Smoke EverClear shield. Pinlock MaxVision- ready flat shields with tearoff posts are available as an accessory for the track (sold separately). Scorpion's DNA is infused into every facet of the EXO-R2000 and the result is a new benchmark for quality and value in a premium helmet.

Features:

  • TCT Composite Shell - Developed exclusively by Scorpion and consisting of a proprietary 5 layer blend of fiberglass, Aramid and organic poly-resin fibers
  • AirFit- Permits a rider to personalize helmet fit through air adjustable cheek pads
  • EverClear no-fog faceshield - Optically-correct shield with state-of-the art fog-free technology and anti-scratch hardened coating
  • KwikWick II - Moisture-wicking helmet liner and cheek pads are breathable, easily removable and washable
  • KwickFit - Cheekpads accommodate easy on and off for most common styles of eye glasses
  • Elip-Tec Ratchet System - Easy, secure, tool-less faceshield changes in seconds. Also pulls the faceshield against the eyeport gasket when closed to ensure a proper seal
  • Emergency Release System - Tabs located under the neck roll allow easy removal of the cheekpads in case of emergency
  • Six intake air ports across the front of the helmet force cool air in while 10 exhaust vents maximize exhaust of hot air
  • Titanium Double D-rings
  • Includes Aero Skirt for increased aerodynamics and reduced wind noise
  • 5 year warranty
  • 4 shell sizes
  • Snell 2010 Certified

Note: Includes both clear and dark smoke faceshields.

Great helmet . Air fit cheek pad system is great. Surprised. I love this helmet. When I first got it and rode with all the vents open it was pretty loud. When you slightly tuck or ride a little less than full upright it is surprisingly quiet. After taking it on a 1500 mile trip I am very happy with this helmet. Nice weight , the main reason I bought this in addition to the price . I have had more than one neck injury so weight is a factor. As it breaks in and I figure out what the best combination of vents are , the noise is much more manageable. I ride behind a windshield almost all of the time. The features I like the most: The air-fit system for the cheek pads. I use this a lot. At higher speeds it really helps quiet down the helmet and to keep it rock steady on my head. No buffeting when I head check at all. The weight of the helmet. Comfort . The more I wear it the more I love it. I was really pleased with the quality of this helmet. Some of the scorpion helmets I have looked at were kind of junky but not this one. The EXO-R2000 is a top notch helmet. I like the way it is set up. Lots of cool features that you actually enjoy using. I know it is a race helmet but I toured on a trike with it and loved it. I have had Arai, Shoei, HJC, Nexx, and a couple of others. I think this is one of the best helmets I have ever had. I hope when I go to purchase another helmet in a few years these are still around. One more thing , the visor seals up tightly and does not leak water in the rain. The anti-fog works reasonably well. I wear glasses under the helmet so the glasses fog up more than the shield does. When going under freeway speeds I use the shield lock mechanism and raise the shield for city venting, anti fog and cooling off. All in all very happy with this helmet. Best helmet bag I have ever seen free with helmet. Dark visor with visor bag included with helmet. Well done Scorpion . Value , and an awesome helmet on one deal. Revzilla rocks as always. Got the helmet to me intact and undamaged in two days for very reasonable rates. So I could have it to go on my trip with. August 27, 2015
Packed with features @ what ? $369 it's a BARGAIN !!! It's a fantastic helmet for the price !! I will not go over the features and details Revzilla made it clear on the video. I am coming from a Shoei X-11 and the R2000 build quality, comfort, ventilation and overall feature set make it a leading contender in the premium helmet market. This is my first Scorpion and I ride daily a Speed triple and the helmet provide everything I am looking for. Good Job on this one scorpion July 20, 2015
Saved my life I struck an improperly turning SUV yesterday at around 50 mph and was thrown headfirst through trash cans and into a ditch. This helmet saved my life. It protected my face and was light enough that my head wasn't thrown around in the impact. My head didn't feel a thing even though it went through two large and full trashcans. the cans were obliterated but i suffered no head or neck injuries. Was I lucky? yes, but did the helmet provide outstanding protection? Yeah... I'm ordering a new one right away. August 26, 2015
Excellent choice This helmet is fantastic. Everything I wanted in a helmet at the right price. August 24, 2015
Nice Helmet I bought this helmet mainly because the first helmet I bought was much too large and moved around quite a bit (I bought my first helmet before I knew anything about proper helmet fit). My head measures in at about 23.5" and the Large fits perfectly. It's light and extremely comfortable. The design looks amazing when you see it in person (the pictures simply don't do it justice). Unfortunately since I'm new to the motorcycling scene and don't have a bike yet, I can't speak for the quality of air flow, vision, noise level, or protection/durability. All in all, given my limited experience, this helmet is 100% worth the price paid ** Please note that I currently do not own a motorcycle. The Ninja 300 that is shown at the bottom of this review is there because I was looking around at parts for a friend's bike and added it to the garage. I don't know how to change or remove it, so I guess it's stuck there for now xD ** August 17, 2015
Great Helmet for the Naked Bike Crowd I'll preface that I like my other helmet - a Bell RS-1. But I found the helmet's poor seal around the eye port leaked too much air on my Street Triple, which dried out my contact lenses at speeds over 45mph (not useful when commuting in DC!) Enter the EXO-R2000. The chin curtain and better seal around the eyeport is superior to the RS-1, and I found the helmet less prone to buffeting on my bike. (For reference, I'm 5'6" and my bike has the the flyscreen on it.) I also really like the inflatable cheek pads. I tried pulling the helmet off after inflating the cheekpads, and I couldn't get the helmet off, which means it probably won't roll off in the event of a crash. Absolutely great feature! The fact that it's pretty quiet is another bonus. I still wear the RS-1 around the city around dusk because of the Transitions shield, but if I'm hitting the highway, I'm taking the Scorpion I've owned Bells, Arais, and Sharks, and this one is my favorite so far! Awesome Helmet Went from an EXO-500. Helmet feels very light fits snug but comfortable and flows a ton of air. Have ridden in 90+ temps and still feels relatively comfortable when on the move. Love the fact that it comes with a smoke shield included. Both shields are excellent and provide crystal clear fog free views. Great helmet would highly recommend it nothing better out there for the price IMO and that includes some higher priced helmets. August 7, 2015
Decent deal if you buy on clearance I had high hopes for this helmet. Looks great and has a decent price, good ratings and lots of Moto GP use. Very disapointed. The interior liner is one of the worst I have ever felt. It would be "okay" on a $150 helmet. not on one in this price range. As near to wearing a helmet with just the EPS as I have ever worn. No matter what the video says, IMO, its far worse than the HJC RPHA 10. fit finish is again in the $150 helmet range. The paint was chipped before I took the new helmet out of the box, and it had several mars in it. I'm not sure if it was a one off, or not but at $300 it souldn't have these issues. I have 10 year old Shoei's that still look brand new that didn't cost much more than this helmet. It does come with 2 shields, which is great. Save $50 by getting the dark shield for free. I don't know how to describe the fit. Video says inter oval. but I thought it fit my head well and I came from a Shoei RF-1000 which is more round than oval and this helmet fit very close. However, it fit large. I wear XL in every helmet with a 61.5 cm head and XL in the helmet was large enough that at speed, it lifted off my head. Yet size L had to be pressed down so it was one big pressure point all the way around my head. If you can get this helmet on clearance and want a nice looking helmet, that you aren't worried about keeping for more than a year or 2, then it may be okay for you. Mine went back. August 6, 2015

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
damon w: to protect my face from the ground Jun 29, 2015
James S: Great value and very good build quality. One of my riders high-sided last year and this helmet did exactly what it needed to do. Given the beating it took, it is no longer usable, but again. 60 MPH crash and no no cuts, no bumps no bruises. This product stood up admirably. May 7, 2015
Shane W: Good looking helmet, simple.

Good air flow, the extra visor is great and I use it normally instead of the clear one.

Brandal G: Value for the money and it is a functional race helmet to be used as such. Aug 22, 2014

A shopper asked: How much do they weigh? Aug 6, 2012

RevZilla: Scorpion has informed us that the EXO-R2000 weighs approximately 3.3lbs - 3.5lbs. To our understanding, the exact weight is still in the works. Aug 8, 2012

Jonathan P asked: According to the size chart, my helmet size lands right in between medium and large. I'm afraid if I go large that once the helmet breaks in, it may be a loose fit. Whereas if I go medium the fit may be uncomfortably tight until it breaks in. Any advice ? May 21, 2015

Brandal G: Go Large. I am a true large head and have a fair amount of time in the helmet. I use it primarily for racing but also commute occasionally in it. It is a touch tight and the chin bar is much closer than either my Arai's or Shoei's. I have grown use to it none the less. This is a fine helmet. I would by another. Hope this helps. Ryan L: Love this helmet. It depends on where it's tight. The cheek pads lose more area than the crown of your head. If the crown on a medium is too small with a 15% reduction, buy the large. The pump system is great for keeping the cheek pads snug even after break in. May 21, 2015

Nguyen N: I would go with medium. I'm also between medium and large. I got a medium and it was a little tight the first 5 times of wearing but after that it's a very comfortable snug fit. Jun 8, 2015

A shopper asked: Hello,

I noticed the video stated the helmet was optimized for the 3/4 and tucked position while saying it worked in all riding positions. Do you have any experience with its upright performance or know if scorpion is planning on coming out with an upright version of this helmet?
Aug 25, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: Because the helmet hasn't been released, we do not have any on road experience with the Scorpion EXO-R2000 Helmet yet. Consider this helmets main competition, the RF-1100, which works more or less in all riding positions, tuck is not the greatest. That being said, this helmet will work ok in the upright riding position but works best in a tuck or 3/4. We do not have any information about other Scorpion Helmets being released specifically designed for the standard riding position at this time. Aug 28, 2012

Izzaldin O: done about 200 miles with it on my Honda NC700S which has a very upright seating position. No issues with either wind buffeting or noise. Engage the Airfit system and it feels glued to your head during head checks. Just dont forget to release the air before you take it off.. Dec 10, 2014

A shopper asked: Is there a reason why I should/could not use this helmet for touring? I know they stated in the video it works great in the chin to tank position but any reason it would not be a good touring helmet? It is a contender cause its the only one that will fit my odd shaped head.
Thanks

John C: In my experience with the helmet I would be inclined to say that, although it may be "optimized" for the tucked position I still get excellent ventilation and very little change, if any, in wind noise sitting upright. I would not have a problem recommending it for touring. I would, however go with a version with graphics simply because some of them are having their prices slashed, insanely on some sights. I wear the 2XL and can say that the R410 in a 2XL fits me the same as the R2000. The R710 is ever so slightly more round, but not to the point of being unduly uncomfortable on me. You may also consider icon helmets as they have a similar fit as well. An HJC AC-12 also fit me well, but that helmet is long gone and I don't know if there is a newer model with the same fit.

Good Luck!

Jason R asked: Does this helmet have pockets for speakers? Aug 15, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Keith A: While I havent used speakers before, I can tell you that the helmet is tight to your ears. This helmet, while doing headchecks backwards, kinda pushes into your ear more to, I assume give better aerodynamics and decrease airflow coming in.

It's very much a racer helmet, but thats not to say it isn't a great helmet for city riding. I've owned a Bell Vortex, HJC FG-17 and CL-16, an Icon Alliance as well as a Shoei RF-1100 and this helmet is by far not only the best helmet in terms of fit, but is really awesome with airflow, vision, noise. Not to mention the extra shield and it looks awesome.

Get this helmet, you will not be disappointed as long as the speakers isnt a deal breaker!

A shopper asked: I went with an EXO-750 because it was touted (mostly correctly) to be a oval or medium oval shape. What is the '2000 being described as? Aug 6, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: We consider the Scorpion EXO-R2000 Helmet to have an intermediate oval head shape. Aug 7, 2012
